I don't own RWBY. Rooster Teeth does.
Roman laid in his cell, looking up at the ceiling. He closed his eyes and smiled. Sigurd and Jeanne's children. The old thief never thought he would get to see the day that the twins were all grown. Of course, he had kept in contact with those two. While the pair had made it explicitly clear that they didn't condone his ways, the three often met incognito in neutral territory. They were teammates after all. His eyes slowly opened when his cell opened again for the fifth time today.
"Aren't you tired of coming back here all the time?" he sat up to greet his visitor.
James had an impassive look on his face as he walked in with his lieutenant. Roman's eyes grew slightly wide when he laid eyes upon her. Winter stood with a guarded expression on her face upon entering the cell.
"No. We came to see if you had enough time to stew. Otherwise, I'll have to resort to less than savory methods," James said. He nodded to Winter, who drew her blade slightly in response.
Roman pursed his lips and furrowed his brow.
I… I don't want it to end like this… he thought. Roman sighed. If Cinder found out, she would kill him. Confessing would land him in prison unless… his eyes lit up. That could work.
"I'll talk."
"Oh?" James raised an eyebrow as Winter sheathed her blade.
"But on one condition," he said.
"What is it?" The general narrowed his eyes.
"I want the ones who ask the question to be children of Sigurd and Jeanne Arc. You can listen in or whatever. I don't really care. So long as they're the ones asking."
"It looks like the Grimm Reaper's training is paying off."
Jaune panted. He looked up at his mother, who walked towards him slowly. She had a small but proud smile on her face. Her son had improved leaps and bounds since he left their home. It was then that Jeanne was reminded that she was to blame for the situation her son was in. The suffering he had to endure at this school and then the subsequent injuries he sustained when he was left behind during the chaos of the mission. She and her husband were to blame for it all. Had she just trained Jaune and Alice and written a letter of recommendation to Ozpin, Jaune would have never had to go through all of it. However, she couldn't help but wonder what would change if she had done that. Her eyes drifted over to the green-eyed redhead who watched from the sidelines. Pyrrha waved before returning to adjusting Mae's body into a proper stance. The faunus girl was training as well.
"Yeah… it is. Jeez mom, couldn't you have pulled your punches a little?" Jaune asked, rubbing his now sore ribs. His mother could take a hit and dish out as well. She was a Gold Ranked Huntress after all.
"Don't be a baby. You're fine. Besides, if I hit you for real, you'd be over there right now." Jeanne pointed to the wall of the training area. He gulped, knowing full well how strong his mother was.
"Looks like your sister is done now too," she said. As if on cue, Alice and Sieg walked over to them. Alice was doing a lot more limping than she was walking. She grinned at her brother and winced when she felt pain shoot through her leg. Her father had kicked her hard in the hip. Luckily, she didn't break anything.
"Looks like you had fun." Jaune returned the grin.
"I'm lucky I got dad," Alice said.
"Is that so? Well, next time, you'll be sparring with me then," Jeanne said, crossing her arms.
"Wait… Mom, please don't break me." Alice darted behind her father and cowered.
"She won't break you," Sieg said, "She'll destroy you."
Jeanne narrowed her eyes and slapped her husband upside the head. "Dummy, stop scaring her."
"Ughh! I'm beat!" Jaune said, falling on the ground.
"I guess we can stop here for today."
Jeanne watched as Jaune regained all of the energy he had spent in their spar and ran off towards his girlfriend. Sieg placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled.
"He's grown up now… it won't be long before we're at their wedding and sitting in a rocking chair with all our grandkids," she said.
Alice and Sieg looked at her with an odd expression. While the two were sure that Pyrrha and Jaune would get married, that wasn't going to be the case for a while. They had years before they could even think about getting married. The two had only been dating for a couple of months and had yet to cross several very important milestones in both their lives.
"Mom, you're overthinking it. Jaune and Pyrrha won't be married for a while," Alice said.
"So this is where you two were." A familiar voice entered their ears. Jeanne turned to see her old teammate walking into the training arena.
"Ice bi-" Jeanne paused when she felt her son's burning gaze on the back of her head. Jaune stood with Pyrrha, covering Mae's ears. "Ice biscuit."
"Pffftt… ahahaa!" Willow clutched her sides and laughed at the Arc Matriarch. Jeanne censoring herself was just too funny for her.
Jeanne twitched and glared at the Schnee Matriarch as flames jumped off her body. Sieg pinched the bridge of his nose at their interaction but allowed himself to smile afterward. It had been a long while since the three were together. If only…
"What do you want Willow?"
"What? I can't see you guys? It has been a long while since our last meeting," Willow said, placing her hands on her hips.
"I guess it has. You didn't come to the Festival," Sieg said.
"I'm sorry but… looking after Whitley and keeping Winter in my sights has been keeping me busy. Weiss being here makes me worry a lot. I just saw her with her team. It seems that she's improved a little," Willow said.
"Mom. Alice, Pyrrha, and I are going to head back to our dorms," Jaune said.
"Yeah, you four go ahead. We'll be down here for a while," Jeanne replied.
"Actually."
Jeanne sighed. Where the hell were all these people coming from? She turned around to see Ozpin standing at the door. Her eyes widened a little when she saw Ironwood standing next to him.
"We need Mister and Miss Arc for something if you don't mind," the headmaster said, sipping his coffee.
Pyrrha felt a sharp pain cut through her brain. Her face contorted in pain for a split second before she composed herself.
"It's almost done… just hang in there…" the shade said.
Pyrrha gulped as she tried not to fall to her knees due to the pain.
"What do you need our children for Ozpin?" Sieg asked. He crossed his arms and looked over to the Atlesian General. The man had been eyeing his son and daughter for a good minute, looking them up and down. It was like he was appraising their worth.
"We need them to follow us over to the holding cells on my ship," James cut in before Ozpin could ease them into the situation. "Roman Torchwick is being held there and we finally made a breakthrough. He wants to talk to them and them alone. We believe it has to do with the fact that your son and daughter were there to help during the Breach."
"What?" Jeanne's eyes grew wide. Roman was here and he asked to see her kids? Willow's expression changed and she gripped her sleeve. Sigurd placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and smiled. She nodded and calmed down.
"Precisely what the General said. For some reason, Mister Torchwick has requested their presence. If you want to come, you are more than welcome to. After all, I believe a reunion between teammates is in order." Ozpin sipped his coffee.
Jaune and Alice's eyes widened in shock. Teammates? Their parents and Roman Torchwick? The twins looked to their parents for confirmation. Their mother bit her lip and sighed, giving the two all the confirmation they needed.
"We're going to go with them." Jeanne crossed her arms and stared the headmaster down. Ozpin remained unfazed by her intense gaze and merely nodded in response.
"I… I'll go too," Willow said. Her voice had become uncharacteristically meek. It was something that Ozpin and James had both noticed.
"You don't have to go if you don't want to," Jeanne said, turning to her friend.
Willow merely looked her in the eye with burning resolve. She needed to settle this. No, she didn't want to settle this. Settling this meant letting go and that was something she regretted doing so long ago. Willow needed to go along with them.
Seeing the resolve in her friend's eyes, Jeanne sighed. Sigurd closed his eyes and nodded.
"Very well. Follow us then. Miss Nikos, I'm afraid that you will have to stay here. Only Mister and Miss Arc are required," Ozpin said.
"But…!"
"We'll be fine," Jaune said.
Pyrrha's head snapped towards Jaune, who gave her a reassuring smile.
"Go take Mae back to the dorm. We have Mom, Dad, and Professor Ozpin with us just in case anything goes wrong," Alice said.
Pyrrha looked towards Jaune once more. He gave her the same smile and she sighed in defeat.
"I'll be waiting back at the dorms. Just be careful okay?" Pyrrha said.
"I will." And with that, the group left the training area. Pyrrha and Mae were the only two that remained.
"I can't believe you let him go so easily," the shade said. It manifested next to her and smiled.
"He'll be fine…," Pyrrha replied.
Winter stood guard outside Roman's cell. This was not what she had in mind when Ironwood left her in charge. The man had been oddly quiet. From the reports she had read, Roman was quite the talker. He had the tendency to talk to whoever guarded him to death. But instead, she found herself sitting in the quietness of the cell. Behind her, Winter could hear Roman tapping away at the wall. This quiet was going to lull her to sleep.
"How was your day?"
Winter perked up and looked around. She sighed, remembering where she was. So he was finally going to talk.
"That's classified," she replied.
"Your day? Talking about what you did today is classified?" Roman sat up on his bed and stared at her back. He could see her tense up. "Relax, I'm behind a Hardlight barrier. What could I possibly do?"
"It's kind of hard to relax when a world-class criminal is behind me. I have to keep my guard up at all times," Winter said.
"And me asking about your day is some sort of plot to hijack an Atlesian Flagship," he said.
Winter blushed. That was a rather silly notion now that she thought about it. She looked over her shoulder and saw the man looking at her intently. His eyes. They looked so familiar.
Of course, they look familiar. He's on a wanted list. She wanted to slap herself for forgetting that detail.
"So do you want me to go first?"
Winter blinked. She looked over to the man, who had laid back down.
"Sure?"
"Well, first, I woke up at around something o'clock. I can't really tell, There are no clocks in here or windows so I have to play it all by ear. Anyway, after that, I did my morning routine. I did some stretches, jumping jacks, push-ups, crunches, and meditated for five minutes."
Winter rolled her eyes. Was he actually going to detail his entire day up to this moment?
"Then some schmuck brought in some food. He was a nice dude. He even got me a pancake from the mess hall." Roman smiled. He conned the sucker into getting him pancakes.
"Are you really going to talk about your day?" Winter asked.
"Well, if you think you had a better day than I did, you're more than welcome to talk about it."
"..." Winter contemplated his words before shrugging. What could possibly go wrong? "It's not really that I had a hectic day. It's more that I had a hectic week. I got pulled away from administrative duties in Atlas to become a glorified chaperone to a bunch of roided teenagers."
"Roided? Is that what they call hunters in training now?" Roman had never heard the term before.
"No, I just call them that. When I got here, this drunk asshole challenged me to a fight and got me in trouble." The temperature dropped as Winter remembered how that drunk bastard, Qrow Branwen, humiliated her in front of the general. That man was so infuriating. He even went so far as to say that she had no place among them. Her. She was the General's Adjutant. Of course, she had a place there.
"That's rough," Roman said.
"I bet you'd know," Winter said.
"I would. And being in this cell isn't the reason for me knowing," Roman said, sitting up.
That flaming bitch. Once he got out of this cell, he'd tear her a new asshole. Their agreement was that they would help each other. But then again, Roman knew that working with her was bad news. He still took her up on the offer anyway. That dust was enough for him to retire and he couldn't say no. But that wasn't the reason why he needed all that money.
"Did someone stab your back?" Winter raised an eyebrow.
"Kind of…" Roman scratched the back of his head. "I guess it all started when-"
The doors slid open, alerting them both. Winter hopped to her feet and dusted herself off. Her hand went up into a salute as James entered the room with a few others. Her eyes grew wide when she saw her aunt and uncle walking in with her mother. Jaune and Alice were also there as requested by the Master Thief.
"We brought the twins. Now talk," James said.
Roman remained silent, staring at his former teammates. His gaze lingered on Willow for a significant amount of time. The Schnee Matriarch gripped her arm and looked at him sadly.
"Torchwick!" James bellowed. The general's sudden yell snapped him out of his reverie. He sighed.
"I said I wanted to talk to them alone in this room. The rest of you have to leave," Roman said. "Go listen in from the other side of the room or something."
James sighed. Ozpin nodded. "Very well. Come on."
The general looked as if he would protest and gave in to Ozpin's words. Jeanne and Sigurd looked at their teammate for one last second before following after them. Jaune, Alice, Winter, and Willow were all that were left.
Willow tried to say something but Roman silenced her with a soft smile. She went silent and nodded. This interaction was not lost upon Winter, who looked at the thief with a degree of suspicion in her eyes. Not wanting the thief and her mother to interact any longer, she grabbed Willow by the arm and left the room.
"There… we're all alone now. Why did you want to talk to the two of us specifically," Jaune asked after Winter had closed the door. Alice merely stood there with her arms crossed.
"I wanted to see the children of my old teammates. Well… from what I heard, you two have three older sisters and three younger ones," he said.
"Is it true that mom and dad were your teammates?" Alice asked. Now, Roman had called her parents teammates.
"Yup. Me, Blondie, Ziggy, and Ice Queen. We were all on the same team back in the day," he said, leaning back and crossing his legs.
"So… General Ironwood said that you would answer questions if we were the ones asking them so-"
"So he gave you a list of questions on your scroll to ask me?" Roman looked at Jaune, already knowing where this was going. The male Arc twin blinked and nodded. Was the general really that predictable?
"Y- Yeah how did you?"
"Working with the White Fang. That one-armed bastard's come back into my cell multiple times to get me to talk," Roman said.
"About?" Alice tilted her head.
"Who was behind all this? The man behind the man behind the man," Roman said.
"Wasn't it you?" Jaune was confused. Wasn't Roman behind the Breach? That much was made obvious from the reports that came out later. Even in the official reports that he and others who participated in the defense received. Roman Torchwick was the sole perpetrator behind the Breach of Beacon.
"Ahhh… but the General and Headmaster Ozpin are suspicious as always and they were right to be," Roman said.
"So… someone else was behind it?" Alice asked.
"Was it the White Fang?" Jaune added.
"They're… they're actually getting progress," Ozpin said. He was impressed. To think that Roman Torchwick would open up to those two rather than them. And it was all because the two were related to Jeanne and Sigurd Arc. How quaint. It appears that the teammates still had some relations to each other despite the other being a notorious criminal.
"They need to strike right now. Get Roman to admit who was behind this," James said. The twins were dancing around the situation.
"The White Fang? You think they have the know-how or the mojo to pull off an operation as big as that? If the Fang were moving an operation that big near Vale of all places, the entire Huntsman Association would be on top of their heads in a matter of minutes!" Roman exclaimed. He let out a laugh.
"So… someone else? This man behind the man you mentioned," Jaune said.
"Yes… and all I have to say is this. I'm not privy to what her plan is now since I'm locked up. I've only been briefed on phases one and two but I did get little hints of what the final phase is," Roman said. His eyes glinted as he looked directly into Jaune and Alice's souls.
"Final Phase?" Jaune narrowed his eyes. This plan sounded elaborate if it worked in phases. And Roman was supposedly in charge of phases one and two. That meant that the person who was behind all this was behind the last phase. He adopted a thinking pose as he began to contemplate what he just said.
"Don't blow a gasket." Roman looked at him with a deadpan expression on his face.
"What is the final phase?" Alice asked.
"The Final Phase… from what I heard had something to do with Beacon? All I know is that the bitch is after some girl named Amber," Roman said.
Outside the room, Ozpin and James's expressions grew stony. So that's what the Breach was for. It was all a setup. However, that plan was foiled by Team RWBY. Ozpin began to think. If their original plan was the Breach, then what was their plan now? Qrow had told them earlier that the enemy had already infiltrated Beacon. He needed to move forward. His one plan was already out the window. Now, he needed to find a way to safeguard the Maiden powers.
"Is that it?" Jaune asked.
"Yeah, that's it. Believe it or not, they never told me much. The flame bitch just told me to stop asking and do what I'm told," Roman said.
"I… I have a question." Alice looked Roman in the eye. The thief felt extremely unnerved.
Her stare is the same as Blondie's… Roman shivered at the thought of a Jeanne 2.0. That woman was already terrifying enough. Two of her was something the world didn't need.
"Ask away kid," Roman said.
"Why did you become a thief? We heard that you were our mom and dad's teammate," she said.
Roman was taken aback by her question. Of all the questions he would be asked, this was something he didn't expect. Now that he thought about it, why did he become a thief? It had been so long since he decided to become one. What was the actual reason?
"It's been so long and I never thought I'd get asked that question," Roman said. "But all I can tell you is that it's complicated…"
"Why is it complicated? The general assumption is that thieves become thieves because they're greedy or need to survive," Jaune said.
"It's… more than just that. It's more than just greed though it did play a part in it. Besides, why are you asking? Aren't you supposed to be asking me questions about the Breach?" the thief snapped. These two were digging into his past, making him remember things. Feel things. The entire reason he became a thief? That was a secret only he and the Arc Duo knew. Willow didn't even know the reason. She wasn't there for it after all.
"Didn't you just answer the question the general told us to ask?" Alice tilted her head. She was sure that Roman had answered the question. Were they missing something?
"This is your first time interrogating someone, isn't it?" Roman nearly laughed at their naivety. He felt sorry for Ironwood and proud of what he just accomplished. Granted, this won't help him tear Cinder a brand new asshole but… Sighing, Roman tapped his foot. "You're supposed to ask me for names."
"Oh. Right!" Jaune remembered the other question on his scroll. "What are the names of your compatriots?"
"Hmph. That's much better. I have to say, you two are really good at this," Roman said, laughing.
Jaune and Alice glared at him.
"Hey! We're not that bad! This is our first time interrogating someone for something important so cut us some slack!" The two spoke in unison.
"You two really have your mother's temper," Roman said, wiping a lone tear from his eye.
Outside the room, Jeanne grumbled at his words. Her temper wasn't that bad.
"Giving away their names would put me in danger so I need Ironwood and Ozpin to guarantee my safety at all costs. I've made my mind the minute my rescue group never came and her two dogs arrested me under pretenses of acting like heroes. Tell me that they can promise that. I know you're watching."
Ironwood and Ozpin gave each other a look. Ozpin nodded and Ironwood sighed. If this was what it took to get an edge, then they would do it. Ironwood pressed a button and activated the mic.
"We'll guarantee that you will be safe so long as you remain on my flagship." Ironwood turned the mic off.
"It's quite interesting to see him confessing. Never in my days would I think that Mister Torchwick would confess and expose his accomplices. I wonder what made him change his mind?" Ozpin sipped his coffee.
"It's probably whoever recruited him. If Roman values one thing, it's personal loyalty. A team is a team and a deal is a deal. If you flake him, he'll find a way to screw you back," Willow said, crossing her arms. She was very much familiar with Roman's mindset and his tactics. After all, he did help their team get out of multiple sticky situations back during their academy days.
"She's right. Whoever made him take the fall is gonna have Roman after them. This is why he's exposing them to us. It's all a way to get back at them," Sieg said. "Though, I wonder what she had on him…"
"You and I both know why Roman is like the way he is." Jeanne closed her eyes. She remembered that day. The very day he declared war on him.
Willow remained silent. She was the only one out of the loop on this. The Schnee Matriarch wanted to ask but bit her tongue. She'd ask Roman herself later.
"Very well. Keep this in mind. You two ready?" Roman asked.
Jaune nodded and prepared to type the names on his scroll.
"Their names are-" Roman's eyes grew wide as he felt his throat constricting. He fell to his knees, gasping for air.
Jaune and Alice's eyes grew wide as they rushed over to his cell. The doors opened as Ironwood and Ozpin ran inside. The general opened Roman's cell and dragged him out. The man was still choking on something, clutching at his throat.
"Move," Ozpin said. Ironwood nodded and the headmaster walked over to Roman. His eyes glowed green as he placed his hand on Roman's throat. Almost immediately, the choking stopped as a warm green glow enveloped the thief.
"Well?" James asked.
"There seems to be something preventing him from disclosing the identities of those involved," Ozpin said.
Magic. Roman had been infected with Magic. And not just any magic, this was her magic. So she was involved in this. She didn't just send her subordinates but she herself took an active role? Did she sense their return too?
"How convenient…" James muttered.
"I can remove it but it will take me some time and that's something we don't have," Ozpin said.
"It's alright. He already said enough. They're after Amber, right? We'll just increase security around the school," James said.
"Um, excuse me but what the fuck just happened?" Jaune made his presence known to the two.
"Whatever you just witnessed in this room and heard from that interrogation, you are not allowed to disclose to anyone. Not even your teammates," James said, turning to face him. Ozpin remained near the almost unconscious Roman as he began to undo whatever it was was done to Roman's neck.
"General Ironwood is right, you two. This is the one time I shall request that you two keep something from your team. This is a matter of national security," Ozpin said.
"Shouldn't we be telling someone?" Alice asked.
"No. I've asked your parents to remain quiet on this as well," he answered.
"So we're done here?" Jaune asked. His twin nodded in agreement with her brother's question. Were they done here?
"You two are dismissed. However, you two aren't allowed to talk. As a precaution, Winter will be guarding you two whenever possible."
"What!?" If it wasn't for his training and for his semblance, Ironwood would have flinched at the tone of their voice.
"We don't need a babysitter!" Jaune said.
"We're more than capable of keeping a secret!" Alice protested.
"It's just a precaution. Besides, Winter won't be with you twenty-four-seven and you two won't see her all the time. She'll observe you from the shadows and communicate via scroll. Don't worry about acquiring her contact. Winter will receive yours after I'm done with Mister Torchwick here," Ozpin said.
"Right, about that. What happened to him?" Jaune asked.
"A special kind of dust was used on him to prevent him from disclosing the names of his accomplices. Rest assured, I will have this removed so you have nothing to worry about," he replied.
"Winter, escort Mister and Miss Arc away," James said.
"Yes sir. Come along you two. I'm sure Vert is looking for me as well," Winter said. Jaune and Alice groaned at the mention of their touchy-feely older sister but complied. They walked out of the room after Winter, leaving the Arc parents, Willow, Ozpin, Ironwood, and a near unconscious Roman.
"How long do you have until you remove it?" James asked.
"It will take me several hours at most," Ozpin said. "But we need to discuss something back in my office before I go through with this. I feel like we're in the way of something."
The General tilted his head to the side and then realized they weren't alone. He nodded to Ozpin and left the room.
"I believe you four have some catching up to do. Don't worry. You can have all the time you want with him." Ozpin got up and dusted his pants off.
"What about Roman? What about that thing that made him choke?" Willow asked.
Ozpin smiled and checked to see if Ironwood was listening in on them. To his surprise, he couldn't sense the man anywhere near the cell. However, in his long life, Ozpin knew that James would have other methods of listening in so he mouthed it to them.
"I already removed it. This was just a way for you four to reunite."
Jeanne and Sieg's eyes grew wide. Willow sighed in relief.
"Are you sure that-" Jeanne was cut off by Ozpin.
"Mister Torchwick made it very clear in that interrogation session that he wanted nothing to do with his accomplices. Rest assured that the General and I will return in a few hours to get the rest of the information out of him but for now, enjoy this moment. Perhaps you can convince Mister Torchwick to join us. Now if you'll excuse me." Ozpin nodded to them and walked out the door.
The headmaster left the three with a now stirring Roman. The thief gripped his head and felt the slight pain around his throat. That bitch had bugged him with Mikael knows what. It must have been to prevent him from saying their names. It was a rather crafty plan. That much he could admit. He opened his eyes and sat up.
"Oh. You guys are still here," Roman said, seeing the faces of his old teammates.
"You gave us quite the scare there," Sieg said, smiling down at him.
"Yeah… jeez. Who the hell hired you?" Jeanne asked.
"Some bitch named Cinder," Roman said. He became confused. Why hasn't it activated yet? Did they remove it somehow?
"Right, Ozpin removed the thing that made you choke whenever you said their name. So Cinder's her name huh?" the Arc Matriarch said.
"Y- Yeah." He rubbed his throat. Roman coughed a little and turned to see the other occupant in the room. She hadn't said a word since she entered. She just stared at him.
"I think you two need some time alone," Sieg said.
"We'll be waiting outside, Willow. Just uh… just tell him." Jeanne dragged her husband by the collar out the door. Before the door closed, the brunette Arc Patriarch gave Roman a thumbs up to which he sighed. So much for confidence. They just left him here with Willow. This was not a conversation he was ready to have yet he felt that he was. It had been so long since they last talked.
"Willow…" he looked down at the floor.
"Roman…" Willow reached her hand out and cupped his face. The Schnee Matriarch smiled as she directed Roman's gaze to her. The moment Roman's eyes met hers, she moved forward and never looked back.
Pyrrha silently closed the door to their dorm. Mae and Petra were sleeping inside the dorms, having tuckered themselves out after playing for so long. The other Arc Siblings and her teammates were out and about. Nora had volunteered to take the Arc sisters on a tour of Beacon and dragged Ren along with her.
And thus, she, the Champion of Mistral, was left on babysitting duty. Not that she hated it. It would be good practice for her. She walked down the hall, heading towards the Common Area to get something to eat.
"Hmm, hmmm." Pyrrha hummed her favorite song as she walked down the halls. As she passed the door to the roof access, Pyrrha felt something odd. Her body screamed at her to run from this presence but her mind had other ideas. She turned around and faced the stairs, leading up to the roof.
"Don't tell me you're actually planning to go check it out?" the shade said.
Pyrrha ignored the shade and went up the stairs. The shade sighed. She knew what that signature Pyrrha felt was. Hell, she wanted to go confirm if it was her but didn't want to leave Pyrrha.
Pyrrha opened the door to the rooftop and walked out. The presence had vanished and there was no one there. She sighed. It must have just been her nerves. Her sister. This shade. Everything was just piling itself on top of her.
"That must be pretty stressful. You should take some time to relax then."
Pyrrha's eyes grew wide as she spun on the balls of her feet. She came face to face with the person whose voice she just heard.
Behind her stood a woman with blonde hair and violet eyes. She had a delicate smile on her face as her jacket and skirt fluttered in the breeze. Her blonde hair shimmered in the light of the setting sun.
"Who… Who are you?" Pyrrha took a step back. Her presence. This was the presence she felt earlier. And now that she stood before its source, it was overwhelming.
The woman's smile grew wider. It had been eighty years since one of them had been born. She should know. She created the last one.
"Oh, how rude of me. I should introduce myself. My name is Israfil and it is a pleasure to finally meet the newest Ruler."
Yes... this chapter was the one that would cause you all to rage. Yes, there is something going on between Roman and Willow. I'll explain and reveal more in the following chapters but I'm pretty sure a lot of you will be like... "Bruh what the hell?". And now onto the matter of Israfil. Whoever didn't guess that Isla and Israfil were the same person, well they are. What did you think of that twist? And also, Pyrrha is a Ruler. Just what are they? And here you all thought that Ruler was a Fate reference. But uh, no, Rulers are very different. I'll explain more about them. This'll be fun to step into. And that's it for this chapter. Remember to review. Follow and favorite if you like the story.
