SEASON 1 EPISODE 1~RITES OF PASSAGE

"Father?", i asked as he had hold of my hand "what is it Rekka" he repiled as "what is the thing?", i asked as was getting annoyed with all of my questions "the thing Rekka is a ceremony where boys get there arm rings" he said as I was about to ask another question when saw Bjorn round the corner Bjorn" I yelled as I ran over to him and hugged him.

"So here you are brother" Said father when me, and Bjorn stood together "Rollo" he said she gave his brother a hug and Rollo looked at Bjorn 'By Freyr and all the gods, how you've grown", he said as dad kept me by his side "Hello, Rollo" said Bjorn as the street was busy.

We walked to the great hall "Are you here for the thing?" Asked uncle Ragnar as I nodded and father looked at Bjorn "You're a real man now" he said as we started to run off "Oi don't run off you two, come, let's get a drink" said uncle Ragnar as we found a table and sat down.

After a while, they were still drinking "can I have some father?" I asked as they laughed at me "you can't have any you're a lady" said Bjorn as I wasn't happy "I am not a lady" I yelled as dad raised his eyebrows at me and he gave me his drink and I pulled a face that they laughted at.

Born was now a bit drunk "Looking a little pale, Bjorn are you ready for there are some good-looking women in Kattegat some of them are free" said Father as we were falling asleep "Why don't you two go lie down?" Said uncle ranger as we walked away and headed to bed.

The next day we were in the great hall waiting for Bjorn to get his arm ring. A man was being tried for murder and he wanted to be killed by beheading "Why is he smiling, father?" asked Bjorn as I grabbed hold of his hand "He wants to die well, without fear, to atone for his sins.

You must watch, for his sake", said Uncle Ragnar as the crowd was getting excited " why does this happen, father?"I asked as father looked at me "It's his only hope of reaching Valhalla" he said as I still had hold of Bjorn's hand and the man came out with the axe and chopped off his head, the crowd cheers and applauded as I put my head on his shoulder.

While I stood with father and uncle Ragnar "why can't I have a ring father?", I asked as he looked up at me " you are a girl , not a boy my dear you will be a shield Maiden like your mother" he said as I watched Bjorn get his ring "Olaf, son of Ingolf and Bjorn, son of Ragnar. May you accept this gift of salt and earth to remind yourself that you belong to both the land and the sea" said the Earl as he carried on.

I was not happy "it's still not fair" I yelled as my father took me off the platform and put his hands over my mouth as I was still shouting "These arm rings bind you in loyalty to me, your lord, your chieftain any oath that you swear on these rings must be honoured and kept do you understand and swear to this?" He asked as Bjorn looked at me and back to the earl "Yes, Lord" they said

When the earl carried on " do you freely give your fealty to me, your lord, your chieftain?" He asked as Uncle Ragnar our me on his shoulders 'Yes, Lord" said the boys as they had to kiss the earl's wife, I pulled a face and looked away.

We all cheered and they had talked about where they wanted to go, they ended up talking about going east again. Then there was a feast a big feast we were eating when a man came over for Ragnar to speak to the Earl "stay with your uncle" he said to Bjorn as he left to see the seer.

A while later I and father headed home "father?' I asked as he looked at me " yes Rekka" he said as I was confused "what do you need to do to become the shieldmaiden?" I asked as he tucked me into bed "you need to be fearless and smart" he said as i headed to go and play outside while father made dinner.

The next morning I was walking with Bjorn and Ragnar to go and see and man "we have someone special to visit. His name is floki" said Ragnar as I was confused "floki like the god?" asked Bjorn as I tripped on the way down the path "he's different" said Ragnar as lifted me and put me back on the path "how is he different?', I asked as Ragnar was carrying a stick "he's not a God" he said as I slipped again but managed to get back up without help "why didn't he come to the thing?" asked Bjorn as a man jumped out in us wearing a mask.

'Floki this my son Bjorn and my nice Rekka" said Ragnar as Floki bent down to speak to us "hello how are you?" He asked us "we are well thank you sir" said Bjorn when Floki grabbed his face "you have your father's eyes, unfortunately" he said as he looked at me "you have your fathers eyes" he said as they looked at the boat.

I and father took a boat out to see Ragnar and Lagatha we were having dinner "come on children to bed" said Lagatha as Bjorn gyda headed to bed "you go too" father said as I hugged him "good night my love" said the father as I hugged him and the uncle, Ragnar.

I was having a bad dream about the ravens and Ragnar "no, no" I yelled as father came in "another nightmare" he said as I nodded and he stayed with me till I fell asleep again.

SEASON 1 EPISODE 2~ WRATH OF THE NORTHMEN

I was staying with Lagatha, Gyda and Bjorn while my father was at a meeting at a man's house about the trip west. Ragnar and Lagatha were fighting as me and Bjorn ran downstairs "Stop Are you mad?" Shouted Bjorn as I was still half asleep "you could have killed each other is that what you want?" I asked as they just laughted at us "we were just having an argument well, never argue like that again go on then back to bed the both of you", replied Ragnar as we headed back to bed.

I had seen my father when he came to say goodbye and that they were leaving for the trip west and father came to say goodbye "be good and no fighting with Bjorn" he said as I hugged him "father I love you", I said as he then left.

Lagatha was reading a story to us "The great sea is held in place by Jormungand, the serpent, whose giant body encircles it and who keeps his tail in his mouth to complete the circle and stop the waves breaking loose. But one day, the God Thor, son of earth, was fishing in the sea for the serpent, using a bull's head for bait", she said as I had a drink and put my head on Bjorn's shoulder.

"Jormungand reared up and the waves pummeled the shore as he twisted and writhed in a fury" she said when I could feel myself falling asleep "They were well matched, serpent and God, in that furious fight. The seas boiled around them, but then the hook became dislodged, and the serpent slithered free and sank again, so quickly, beneath the waves. And soon, the sea was calm once more, as if nothing had disturbed it" she said finishing the story by that time me, Gyda and Bjorn were fast asleep and she took us to our beds.
