SEASON 1 EPISODE 7 A KING'S RANSOM
I was out shooting birds and Rabbits when i spotted a deer, i put my arrow on my bow and i was very quiet when i got closer to the deer I then went to shoot but at the same time, i must have stood on a twig because it had snapped and made the deer run away.
I had got a couple of chickens, rabbits and a duck thst was just unlucky to run into my shot. When I got back Björn and Gyda were playing chess "where have you been," said Björn as i walked through the door and put the dead animals on the hooks on the door. "Where have you been?" Asked Bjorn as everyone looked at me "i was out shooting" i said as Athelstan came into the doorway view with siggy who wanted to talk to Lagertha.
SEASON 1 EPISODE 8 SACRIFICE
I and father were packing to go and see the gods in Upsala "father what is the temple of Upsala like?" I asked as he rolled up the sleep skin mat "it's a temple you in the stories where all the gods grant you your wishes" he said as I went outside to play with the other children in the village.
We were walking up the rocks to the temple "Gyda step up be careful" said Bjorn as he pulled me onto the rock we stood there at the top me on my father's shoulders as we looked at the view "father look at the waterfall" I said as he looked up at me and smiled.
When we got there we walked into the temple and we were blessed with blood as it was flicked on my face. As I went off with Gyda and we looked at the gods I had found Thor the God when I got to it " thor my dreams what do they mean to tell me please, I beg you give me a sign" I said as I met with lagertha and headed back to my father who was talking to siggy.
I was sitting in a hammock when people burst through the door making me jump "father when do we do the sacrifices?" Bjorn asked Ragnar as one eye explained "on the last night at the end of the celebration", he said as I smiled at Bjorn "uncle" I said as he turned to me "can I sacrifice the animals?" I asked as smiled "maybe when you are older" he said with a smile.
I smiled back " And in the meantime, we celebrate the gods and enjoy their presence in any way we can" said Torstin as we laughed. Father had left me with Bjorn, Gyda and Lagertha to have dinner but Uncle Ragnar wanted to go out and party with the others.
I had fallen asleep and Lagertha had taken me back to our hut and I was in bed when I woke up and I was bleeding I went to find my father "father" I said as I had woken up Siggy because father was out all night "Rekka are you having nightmares again" she said as I shook my head "im bleeding", I said as she smiled " oh Rekka you are not a child anymore you are a woman now" she said as I gave her a hug When we had got up and I went to get dressed.
"Why did you bother to come back?" asked siggy as father was sat there eating "I was hungry," he said as she was angry "How many women have you been with?" she asked as father stuffed his face with food " I don't suppose you know," she said as she was annoyed with him "I do what I want here," he said as siggy was now angry.
"so last night while you were out whoring I was seeing to your daughter who has started to bleed," she said as he was shocked as I walked in "oh my child come here," he said as he hugged me "get off me" I yelled as I pulled away from him.
He was shocked by the way I had acted and I had taken an apple and my bow and arrow and went to shoot when I had seen Bjorn standing by the trees "what do you want Bjorn" I snapped as he looked wide-eyed at me as I pulled the bowstring back and shot a blackbird down from the trees, I was still angry at my father as I carried the 5 bids back to the tent "father looked at me " my girl how did you manage to get 5?" he asked as I shrugged " I must be good at it" I said as we left and I spotted Gyda.
"Gyda" I shouted as I waved at her when she was with her father and I was with mine she waved back. that afternoon we had to watch the nine of each animal and the nine humans get sacrificed while a lady sang. After all the animals it was Leif turn we all took notice after that as I cuddled into my father "you much watch" he said as I shook my head "father it is Leif I can't" I said as turned my head.
After the sacrifices, we stood there while Leif was hanging upside down having the blood drained from his neck.
