4 Years go by

The seasons passed and before I had the time to realize it, two years went by. I was sitting in my room with the window open. A warm breeze played with my hair and took a few leaves with it.

I've made friends with a few people from our class. Not the `I want to spend the rest of our lives in each others company` kind of friends, but good people I can laugh with. I've managed to graduate early last week, which made the elders happy, and will be assigned to a team tomorrow. Either a team of new graduates from this years batch or an older team which is missing a member. I don't know. But this is stuff for tomorrow.

The reason I am excited is the thing currently lying on my desk.

About two hours ago I finally managed to get my hands on the one and only ( ok not `only` ,there are a bunch of those and it was not even expensive ) Chakra paper!

Flashback

After weeks of planning I have the perfect place and the perfect time for me to fulfill my wishes. Me and Jo-san are currently sitting on a bench with a good few of a fruit stall with a shop selling ninja weapons behind us. I managed to persuade my caretaker to by cake after school at a shop a few streets away from here to arrive at this bench at exactly this time.

It should begin every second now... ahh operation DD can begin. The exceptional gifted fruit stall owner began closing her shop, packing her things together and allowing us a glimpse of her bouncing twin mounds pushing outwards of her neckline while bowing forward.

Poor Jo-san forgot me and everybody around while drooling, giving me the perfect opportunity to enter the shop behind us in a quick Henge...

Flashback end

All that is left to now is injecting some chakra. I carefully took it in my hands and poured some chakra into it. The reaction was instantly.

It got sliced and crumbled to fine gray dust. Ok. Slicing means wind and crumbling means earth. But why this gray dust? Some sort of kekkai genkai? After thinking about it for some time I had still no idea.

Not that it matters. I could still train wind and earth natures and later try to combine them.

Now the real training can start.

Not that I've been idle the last two years. I have trained hard to improve my body, learned my clans eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms technique and eight Trigrams palms revolving Heaven technique. The first being an extremely fast and lethal attack which allows the user to hit the opponent sixty-four times in an short time frame and closing tenketsu points or deflecting weapons in the process, te letter being a purely defensive move which involves expelling chakra out af all tenketsu points and performing a fast spinning motion which creates a really hard to crack defensive dome around the user. I have obviously not mastered them, but I am proficient enough to use them during battle.

Real training means that now that I will spend larger amounts of time outside of a clan occupied by people who can look through walls I can now use some of the methods I know from my past life. My father let me promise to never look into someone else room without permission as it is impolite and heavily frowned upon, but you never know who might look as long as you are inside these walls.

So starting tomorrow I will finally start learning elemental transformation. Maybe I can learn some cool jutsu too, who knows? Luckily, I already know the most useful shadow clone jutsu. Last year I've watched a jonin using it and memorized the chakra flow, so I am pretty sure I can perform it. The only reason I haven't used it's memory returning cheat before is that I cant abuse it inside the compound and that they are useless for physical training anyways.

I closed the window and snuggle myself into my blanket. Tomorrow ill be a long day.

I got woken up like every other day, took a quick shower and started dressing. Black baggy trousers covered in bandages up to just under my knees and black ninja sandals. A white t-shirt with the Hyuga symbol ( it looks like a `V` with a fire symbol in the middle. Just google it) on the front, over my mesh shirt and my long black hair tied in a low pony tail. I put my kunai and shuriken holster on my right leg and fastened a small bag with various other supplies on my belt.

Ready to go.

After my breakfast and various envious looks from my brothers I bid my goodbyes and gave my mom a reassuring hug. Now that I remember it, today is the first time in my live I will leave the compound alone.

" Ok I have to go. Can't let my future teammates wait." I said while turning around

" Just wait, in a few years I will be a ninja too and surpass you." Hiashi mumbled while avoiding looking me in the eyes. It is actually a little bit sad to watch him like that. They both train hard and are talented too but they simply cant match my physical growth and with me being the heir, father pretty much ignores them. They weren't forced into the academy early, which makes mother happy, but that also means they will only enter about next year. Especially Hiashi feels left behind because of that.

" jea. I'll wait for you little bro. And in the future we will protect our family together!" I declared with a bright smile which manages to put a light smile an his face too.

" Hurry up now or you will be to late." my mother reminds me " And be nice to your teammates, especially if it is a girl! We women have it hard enough already in this line of work."

just when I was about to finally leave my father enters the room

" Good morning Akiyoshi-sama." I said out of reflex

" Be at ease, son. Today is an important day, make our clan proud." he said with his usual commanding voice. For a fracture of a second it looked like he wanted to add something else but decided not to do.

" Of course!" I replied and left the house.

At the hokage tower I received orders to meet my future team at training ground eleven. Arriving at the side, I noticed two genin around twelve years of age and a dog sitting in front of a jounin with black, spiky hair. Slowly approaching I got called out by the Jounin.

" Ah you must be Kazuki. Sit down so we can start."

I did as I was told and sat beside the boy with the dog, receiving interested glaces from the kids.

" So ahhm yes, lets introduce each other first. My name is Seiji Nara and and I am your jounin instructor. I like watching peaceful sunsets and my hobbies include playing shogi and reading. As for the future ...hm id like to retire early. Now is your turn. Doggy you start." he looked at the boy, who had wild brown hair and two red markings in the face. He wore brown shorts and blue ninja sandals. On top of his mesh shirt he wore a Jacked in a lighter brown with fur attached to it and iron plated hand cuffs.

the boy with the dog snorted and declared with a proud look " I am Sho Inuzuka and my partner here is Rini. I like walks in the woods. My hobbies are eating beef and running. And in the future I will show everyone how awesome ninken are!"

"You are next girly." our jounin instructor said to the girl with dark glasses and a green, high collar, trench coat

" hmm I am Sada Aburame, and I like cooking and reading. My hobbies are visiting the library and training I guess. For the future... I haven't thought about it jet." she said in a quiet tone

" Now you shorty." everyone looked at me. I really don't like this nickname. I mean yes, I am shorter then the others, but that's not my fault! I am like five years younger! If anything I am quite tall for my age.

" I am Kazuki Hyuga and I am not short I am just younger than you. I like training and eating cake. My hobbies are reading and playing with my siblings. As for the future I'd like to live a long live and die of old age without regrets. Maybe making my clan and the world a little bit better."

after a short moment of silence our instructor started talking again.

" Ok. Now that we know each other lets start with the real test." he said while scratching the back of his head.

" what? We passed already! I don't know about shorty here but Sada and me passed the test !" the Inuzuka boy, Sho was his name, interrupted while pointing at me.

My angry glare was ignored and our sensei continued speaking.

" I can assure you that our little Hyuga passed too, with better marks than you by the way, but that is not the point. That test was only to see if you are fit to be genin. This test however will show me if you bunch are worth my time. Can't have jounin waste his time trying to teach a group of failures." he said looking serious for the first time. " Like you surely noticed, you are meant to be a tracking team. Every one of you has a unique skill that allows him or her to efficiently find people. Now to finish this test you have to find the real me inside of Konoha in lets say.. four hours? I am a shadow clone by the way. If you can't, I will send you back to the genin corps." he said and then poofed out of existence.

We looked at each other for a few seconds before I said.

" it is very unlikely for anyone of us to find him alone. We should work together. Lets share what we know and can do first. I fore my can see about 150 meters ( I absolutely wont convert it in inches ore some other strange existence. Glory to the metrical system!) in every direction and through objects with my dojutsu but I can only keep it active for about an hour at full range before I get headaches. But I can't see the difference between this shadow clones, they have a chakra network. Other than that I am quite good at taijutsu but I don't think that will help now." much to my delight Sho continued.

" Hmmpf. I am good at taijutsu too. My tracking focuses on my sense of smell so we just have to find his trail. The rest will be easy." the boy said with a hint of pride.

" I can use my insects for tracking chakra but I will lose connection if I am to fare away. And my hive is not jet big enough to cover large areas." the girl added.

" Ok then lets get started."

Roughly three hours later we still had no clue. Our sensei had created a bunch of clones to lead us in circles and we had no idea how t find the real one. The shadow clones had no scent so Sho was pretty much useless. The only good thing was that he was able to tell the difference if we came close enough. Sada could track his chakra but with all the clones around we hadn't found the real one jet.

" this sucks ! How the hell are we supposed to-" Sho complained but was interrupted by Sada.

" I got his track again. Abut 300 meters in the north, moving north-west at a fast pace."

non of us was overly happy. That was about the tenth time we found his trail, just for it to be a shadow clone in the end. Something felt off, like we were missing something. Someth..-

" Guys stop." I said. " I thing I got it."

" what?" the both of them said surprised

" Where was the first time we thought we gut him and in which direction was the clone moving?"

it was so easy. Why haven't I seen it earlier?

" There is no way we can find him if he really wanted to hide. He just had to suppress his chakra and wait. In a place as big as Konoha we would had no chance except with enormous luck and that cant be the point in the test. The shadow clones are not a distraction but a clue! Every time we found a clone he run away from a certain location. And on top of that, if the stories I heard about the Nara are anywhere close to the truth than I doubt he would run when he could laze around somewhere instead."

" Ok I get it." the Aburame girl said." We met the first clone at the shopping district moving southwards. Which means we need to go north of the shopping district and southeast from our current location. But that is.."

"Jea. Training ground eleven." I finished her train of thought

Around ten minutes later we arrived at the exact same clearing we met this morning. Our sensei sitting on top of a log and reading.

" took you long enough." he said without looking away from his book.

" You are awful." Sho said dryly.

He closed his book and looked at us with a smile.

" You all passed. From this moment onwards we are team eight and I am your sensei. We will complete missions together and watch each others back. I am proud of you. We will meet here again tomorrow morning 8 o'clock. But now we are going to eat something. Follow me."

Arriving at a barbecue restaurant, we placed our orders and passed our time in idle chatter. To get back at him we forced sensei to pay with innocent puppy eyes and left after saying our goodbyes.

I must say I am quite contend with my team.
