Jaune found it hard to go back to sleep. When he did he found himself in a familiar field, now underneath the starry night and moonlight.

"Thought you could use a place to gather your thoughts while that happens, little brother," said Jeanne. Her outfit was different now. It was much more ragged and dirty. Her right cheek had mud in it. She smelled of animals and her fingers looked worn. Overall, she looked more like a farm girl than she did a heroine.

Not trying to draw attention to it, Jaune said, "it's been a long time since I was here. It's how we made some kind of connection, huh."

"Yes. Yes, we did. It took a while before I could get here. It has been a long time." Changing topics, Jeanne then said, "you're worried about team RWBY. Aren't you, Jaune?"

"Yeah. I am."

"Come with me for a moment." Jeanne reached out her hand. "I know a place where we can talk."

The place that Jeanne brought Jaune was near to what he assumes is a farm. On the fields there were stacks of hay which Jeanne lied down using it as though it was a large pillow. Jaune tried to follow suit but could not hope to find it comfortable.

"Never grew up in a farm, did you?" Jeanne commented. "I guess that's one more difference I'm happy with."

"You're still keeping track?" Jaune laughed.

"Of course. You come from a family of heroes with many sisters. I come from a peasant family without any. While you were surrounded by warriors, I was surrounded by hay and dung. It may not sound like much to most people but to me, this is nostalgic. Makes me wonder sometimes what would have happened had I not made the choices I did."

Now that Jaune took a look at her, she really does look most comfortable. Like returning home after a long time, she could melt and become one with the ground beneath if she could. Jaune knew the feeling as well. While he had adjusted well into Beacon, he sometimes wishes he could be back home again. That feeling of homely comfort where he could be surrounded by his comic books and pillows and posters, such things are always looked back fondly and one that most could look forward to.

But that wasn't why they were there and Jeanne knew that so Jaune said, "it's about Ruby. She isn't the kind of person who would call in the middle of the night."

"She isn't." Jeanne confirmed. "Ruby probably got into some trouble again." There was a defeated tone in her voice. "It is good though that she at least tried to contact you. Shows that she isn't going to just charge in without telling anyone that something might happen."

"Shouldn't we be going there to help them?"

"We don't know where they would be, Jaune. I doubt that this Mountain Glenn is a small enough place. Besides, they'll probably be alright. They have a knack of getting out of trouble apparently."

Maybe it was the defeated acceptance in her voice, but Jeanne's words did little to alleviate his concerns. "They're shouldn't throw themselves at trouble like that."

"I know," said Jeanne. This time, her voice was much firmer, as if an anger that had been building up had begun to leak out. "It's frustrating every time they do this. But I can't deny that they're doing some kind of good: stopping the bad guys and all that. But still! They really should have at least have learned to exercise some kind of caution by now. I don't know what the headmaster is thinking being this lax but it isn't right, you know! That's just playing favorites and set a terrible example! Team RWBY is putting their lives on the line constantly, charging in head-first without even wondering if it's too much for them. Listen to me, Jaune: it is one thing to be a hero, saving the world. It is a another to just throw away recklessly."

Jeanne then breathed deeply, trying to calm herself down. She was visibly shaking and her eyes began to become wet.

When she did calm down enough, she continued. "I want to scold them you know? Throwing their lives like that. I've seen it before. I've done that before. It hurts when you see others do that. It makes you afraid of what could happen to them, trained warrior or otherwise. But they look so proud of themselves. They did a good job, sure but that doesn't mean it would always be that way. Blades dull and aura eventually runs out. What then? At least Ruby tried to call. If she didn't, we may return from our missions without ever knowing what happened to them."

Jaune had never seen Jeanne this frustrated before. There was no denying that their sister-team has had a habit of throwing themselves at danger. They do so even more than any other student. The blonde knight could only hope that they would come out okay as they did times before. But now that Jeanne put it that way, Jaune could understand better. Heroic sacrifices may be great and special, but the heroes themselves will never know if it did what they hoped it did.

Reaching out his hand, Jaune said, "whatever happens, Jeanne let's hope that we'll be able to scold them together." It was the least he could do.

It took a while for Jeanne to eventually smile. "Yes. Let's."

Suddenly, a voice called out. It was a female's voice that said, "Jeanne! Come inside!"

"Who was that?" Jaune asked.

Jeanne's grin could not have been any wider. Any visible sign of sadness was gone from her features. "We're family now, little brother. Now it's your turn."

When Jaune awoke early the next morning, he commented, "that was a weird experience."

"Glad you enjoyed it, Jaune." Jeanne's voice had a hint of enjoyment in them that Jaune was certain was at his expense.

When the rest of team JNPR awoke, there was little left to prepare other than their breakfast. Ren and Nora took a step further and kept all their things neatly organized. Jaune and Pyrrha were red at the prospect of the two going through their undergarments but they assured them that they were careful.

With each carrying their own bags, team JNPR left their dorms and made their way to the launch area where many bullheads are stationed. There, professor Mulberry was already waiting for them. The Beacon professor was always early. Not even the pilots seemed that awake as him.

Professor Mulberry greeted them cordially. He was in his combat attire but one would not notice it at first. He had a pillbox hat on his head and wore a formal-looking suit. At his side was his weapon of choice that he calls Jack and Jill. It appeared to be a walking stick with a strange hook-like handle. The truth was that it could be split into two for the handle was that of a pistol firmly snugged into the walking stick like a holster. The remainder was a baton. Simple and elegant, the two together along with the rest of his attire makes Professor Mulberry look like a gentleman. One would not think that he was a huntsman on sight.

He waited for them by the bullhead, eyes on his pocket watch. "Ah, you're here," said he. "Right on time. Come on, now. Let's go."

Suddenly, a siren could be heard causing everyone to pause. Nora Valkyrie covered her ears and shook her head.

Making the decision quickly, Jaune declared, "we're changing our mission! Everyone on the bullhead."

Team JNPR wasted no time and got on the bullhead. Ren sighed. Nora gave him a comforting pat.

"Ren." Jaune held his shoulder. "We'll look into those villages another time. I promise."

Then, professor Mulberry said, "Mr. Lie Ren, see me in my office when we return to Beacon. You're not in trouble. I promise you that. It's the least I can do." He then turned to Jaune and gave him praise. "Good job. A leader should be able to think on their feet just as well as they plan their strategies, if not more so."

The roaring engines of the bullhead flew as Mulberry commanded the pilot to take them to the city. They could not see them clearly yet but they knew that the Grimm were pouring in from there. Blackened dots occasionally spreading out as they are causing untold harm to the panicking civilians.

Picking up his scroll, Mulberry called a fellow professor. "Greene. My students and I will be in the thick of things. Grimm are fanning out in all directions of the city."

There was a response coming from the other end, but no one on team JNPR could make out what was said.

One thing that was clear was that there was a joke told for the professional huntsman laughed. "See you in the middle. Tell Peach that it's a numbers game when you see her. Loser orders take-out for the entire faculty and staff as celebration."

Soon enough the call ended as Mulberry put his scroll away. He then told the pilot to open the doors.

"Well students," he addressed. "Didn't think it would come this soon but there is a reason that your initiation requires a landing strategy." He then tipped his hat and fell back and out of the bullhead.

"Landing strategy?" Jeanne asked.

"You don't want to know." Jaune shook his head. "Alright team. Let's do this."

Nora was the first out shouting, "you got it, team leader!" She then used the explosives of Magnhild to propel herself further and deeper into the enlarging Grimm horde.

Pyrrha and Ren followed suit almost immediately after. "I'll catch you. I swear."

"Thanks," said Jaune as he jumped out screaming, "because I haven't quite worked out mine just yet!"

When they landed, they quickly mobilized to towards the center of the Grimm horde. Team RWBY was already there, a little winded but still kicking. There was a massive hole in the streets where the Grimm were pouring out. Beowolves, Ursai, Boarbatusks and many others were charging outwards and destroying anything in their path.

Team JNPR organized when they got there. Jaune was about to give his words but Pyrrha beat him to it.

"Let's move," said she.

In perfect sync, the trio charged right in, leaving Jaune and a materialized Jeanne behind.

Jaune sighed. "I'm supposed to be the leader."

Jeanne gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder. "You can still do that with me here."

"Right. Let's move Jeanne!"

"Yes, Jaune! May the Lord's blessing be upon us!"

AN: I couldn't recall RNJR taking some kind of transportation in early Volume 4 and assumed they walked all the way until they got one at the end of the Volume (either that or I missed a conversation or something). That shot down my headcannon on the specifics of JNPR's mission.
