Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Seeing through Hate. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.
Kaito laughed as he tagged Hanabi. If her father was present? He'd probably scold the girl for daring to associate with such street rabble.
"You can't catch me!" Kaito yelled as he ran around one of the bushes in the yard. It made Hanabi giggle as she chased after her friend.
Kaito stopped to look at his father. He had taken up sweeping the courtyard which the boy played with the Hyuga girl. Her father was entrusted to deal with Neij and Hinata.
Kaito's father couldn't understand why the man felt the need to burden his children with his clan's history. It was almost like he had to make his children into what he was.
Still? Kaito's father hadn't questioned Lord Hyuga for 3 reasons.
While Kaito's father would like nothing more then to question Lord Hyuga on his methods? He would also like to stay paid and employed.
He was well aware the Hyuga children could handle their own. They were shinobi, just like Kaito hoped his son would be one day be.
And 3? He knew Kaito loved his time spent with Hanabi and would do anything to spend more time with said Hyuga member. It made Kaito's father more willing to keep his mouth shut.
Kaito hummed as Hanabi raced after him. Kaito tried to hop the bush only for Hanabi to grab his left arm, throw him to the ground and rest a knee on his back while twisting his arm behind his back.
Kaito groaned in pain which caused Hanabi to grin.
"Hanabi!" Kaito whimpered in pain which made Hanabi blink as she held down the son of the servant. "Dad! Help, Hanabi is bullying me!" Kaito yelled as Kaito's father continued his work.
He knew for a fact that Hanabi wouldn't hurt Kaito. She just messed with him as she messed with him.
"Say it." Hanabi said as she pulled his arm a foot. "Say it~" Hanabi sang while Kaito slammed his other arm on the stone.
"NO!" Kaito hissed which made Hanabi smirk like a snake. It made his father roll his eyes.
His son was really stubborn, but REALLY bad at realizing he was not going to win. It was one reason he knew lord Hyuga didn't seem to mind Hanabi playing with Kaito… It gave her someone who wouldn't relent in anything to test herself against.
Instead? Kaito's father was greeted with the sounds of his sound snickering and laughing like a madman. Rather then harm the boy? Hanabi simply decided to do what any child would to get what they desired from a stubborn child… Tickle them half to death.
"Say it." Hanabi repeated while her fingers danced over Kaito's undefended sides. He roared with laughter.
"FINE ha, ha, ha, ha, ha ha!" Kaito in-between snickers. "You're better at games! HA, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, stop!" Kaito hissed as Hanabi finally relented.
Kaito's father could only roll his eyes at this. It had become common for Kaito to say something stupid, then Hanabi would descend on him like a wild hound.
"Why do you always do that?" Kaito questioned Hanabi who only smirked and crossed her arms. "It's becoming annoying." Kaito said while rubbing at his arm.
"Not my fault you can't fight." Hanabi said with amusement straining her tone. "Besides, that's the third time you tried to tag me. I play to win." Hanabi said while Kaito rolled his eyes.
"Wait till I become a Shinobi!" Kaito responded. "Then I'll be the one messing with you! You wouldn't even be able to touch me!" Kaito yelled while stepping up to Hanabi.
Hanabi only rolled her eyes. She looked downward at Kaito. One reason she always won her fights with Kaito? She was a few feet taller then him. It only made the stubborn boy more eager to prove he was capable of handling the girl in a fight.
"I'm taller then you." Hanabi said with a smirk which made Kaito growl and turn to the side.
Hanabi watched her friend grumble with annoyance as he pouted with frustration. Hanabi questioned if it was meant to make him look more imposing. It just made the boy look more like a frustrated… Well? Child angry he had lost at something and eager to prove himself equal.
Kaito's father could only chuckle at his son trying to stack up to Hanabi. It made the man wonder if his son realized Hanabi liked hanging out with him partly because of how stubborn he was.
"We're see who's taller in a few years!" Kaito shouted which made the Hyuga girl giggle before she rolled her eyes and flicked him on the head.
"Try and tag me again." Hanabi said, her smirk giving way to a genuine smile,
"Only if you don't throw me across the room." Kaito said before hesitantly reaching out to do so.
