Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Seeing through Hate. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.
Kaito continued to follow after Hanabi as he blinked and looked around the room.
If it wasn't obvious that he was confused? Then Hanabi wouldn't have had to explain more than once why he was following his master.
"Master Hyuga wanted to see us?" Kaito questioned and got a nod from Hanabi.
It made him only more confused and interested as to why the master of the Hyuga would need him for anything. He knew Hiashi was not in his prime anymore…
But still? He didn't plan on questioning commands from him. the man had been nice enough to take him in, giving him money and a purpose.
Kaito hummed and entered the room. Hiashi stood on the other side of the room as Hiashi hummed and blinked.
"I'm glad you're here." Hiashi stated to which Kaito could only blink with interest at this. "Please… Sit." Hiashi stated which caused Kaito to look at Hanabi.
His master instead removed her heels, crossed her legs under her and looked at her father. Kaito wanted to ask something. Kaito hummed and instead removed his sandals and looked at his master.
Hanabi turned to look at her father before blinking. Kaito could only hum and look to his master's father. It made him wonder why he was here… Still? If he was here then it had to be pretty important. He just couldn't fathom why his master would need a simple servant like him.
Hiashi cleared his throat and looked at Kaito who was busy wondering why he was in the presence of the master of the clan.
"Kaito?" Hiashi questioned as the man looked up from his bow. "You are aware my daughter will be the leader of the Hyuga clan… Yes?" Hiashi asked and got a nod from his servant.
"Yes, Lord Hyuga." Kaito stated and looked and hummed with interest at the idea. "As I said before. I am well aware that my duties will require me to act in Lady Hanabi's best interests… However? I have always acted in her best interests… Just like I plan to do forever." Kaito added and hummed.
Kaito watched Hiashi rub at his chin. He turned back to look at Kaito and hummed.
"Then you are aware that you will be attending to my daughter with ANY needs she requires?" Hiashi questioned and looked to the side. "You're sure?" Hiashi asked Kaito who hummed and blinked.
Kaito could only click his tongue against the roof of his mouth. Hanabi said nothing as Hiashi hummed.
"Hanabi is my friend…" Kaito put in and shifted his gaze to look at Hanabi. "And she's my master, I serve her to the death." Kaito pointed out and blinked.
"And I commend you for your service… But that was not my question." Hiashi stated which caused Kaito to hum and blink.
Kaito could only clear his throat for a moment and hum.
"I will point out something, however." Kaito stated and rose to his feet. "If you think it's so different? Then how come you don't explain it to me? Your daughter is my master, she will be my master till the end of time. I honestly don't see a major shift in my duties… Many of your servants do this for a paycheck. You know I'm one of the servants who act out of…. More personal reasonings." Kaito said and bowed.
Hiashi looked at his daughter before gazing over to Kaito who could do nothing else but bow. He hummed and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
Still? Hiashi knew that Kaito would and did care mostly for his daughter. He knew the man could be trusted with the duties of helping his daughter. They were friends, that allowed Kaito to help her more than his duties.
Kaito hummed and blinked before Hiashi cleared his throat.
"You are my daughter's best friend." Hiashi stated and got a nod from Kaito. "Tell me, do you enjoy your time helping her?" Hiashi questioned.
"Do you have to ask that question, Lord Hyuga?" Kaito questioned and bowed which caused Hiashi to chuckle with amusement. "Your daughter has been my best friend for years. I thank my father for helping me meet your daughter…. The only thing that I find fault with is the idea of you all not… Showing more emotion, showing us that our efforts mean something." Kaito said with a hum.
Kaito couldn't assume to know what was going through the heads of the leaders of the Hyuga clan leaders… But what he could tell? Was that they had more important things on their mind then just him.
If there wasn't? Then he couldn't begin what they thought they had to focus on at the moment. Kaito didn't give it anymore thought then it needed and decided to focus his efforts on something more important.
He decided to focus his efforts on preparing for the transition from being the servant of the leader of the clan.
"Well, I'm glad that your efforts aren't misplaced." Hasashi said before looking at Hanabi. "You can both return to your quarters. I'll talk to you when I need you." Hasashi as stated to which both Hanabi and Kaito nodded.
Hanabi grabbed her sandals and walked out of the room. Kaito walked after her a minute later.
"Do you have to be that blunt?" Hanabi questioned as she looked to the side. "You act so much like you don't care that my father is the leader of the clan." Hanabi stated which caused Kaito hummed and blinked.
"Because your dad told me to look after you." Kaito stated and cracked his fingers. "Plus? I'm not lying. He told me to treat you like you're the clan head. With all due respect? You know for a fact that your father has his own staff all the time." Kaito pointed out and hummed before blinking.
Kaito watched Hanabi sigh and rub at her temples. Kaito decided to keep quiet at the moment so he didn't have his friend and master angry at her.
Still? Kaito knew for a fact that Hanabi was focusing on her own issues. He continued to bring up he wouldn't wavier in his dedication to Hanabi because he enjoyed working for her. It was why Kaito never wanted anything more that then what he was normally paid for him.
"We still have to train more soon." Hanabi added which caused Kaito to roll his eyes and hum.
"I'll fight you when I can get feeling back majorly." Kaito stated and hummed. "Plus, you hit worse then a bull." Kaito put in and cracked his fingers.
