Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Seeing through Hate. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.
Hanabi tossed Kaito to the ground as he skids backwards. He hummed and looked to the Hyuga.
"You're not putting in as much effort as you usually do." Kaito stated as he brushed off his blue robe he wore. "Why? What's throwing you off your rhythm?" Kaito questioned and cracked his neck before he rushed forwards.
Hanabi blocked the high kick which was aimed at her ribs. She spun and knocked Kaito back with a kick of her own. He groaned and rubbed at his chest.
"You're going to break my ribs." Kaito stated and grunted in pain before sighing.
Hanabi lowered her heeled foot and looked at Kaito who was busy trying to catch his breath.
"You act like you have everything figured out." Hanabi said as she and Kaito circled each other. "Do you know what sets you apart from the rest of my servants?" Hanabi asked as she reached down and undid her sandals.
"Not really, why?" Kaito questioned as he did the same and set his shoes down on the ground.
"Because you are my friend." Hanabi said as she set herself in a fighting stance. "Because you do not serve me simply because you are paid to… Yet you act like one more then I wish it to be." Hanabi added which caused Kaito to frown and look to the side.
Kaito sighed and realized what she was getting at. Kaito shook his head.
"You're talking about the situation from before." Kaito said as he rushed Hanabi.
He threw a punch which was deflected and then spun around a palm strike. Hanabi's arm passed next to his head as he watched her fingers almost gaze his head.
"You could have told me you wanted me to be more casual about things." Kaito said while shaking his head from side to side.
Hanabi hummed and went to punch Kaito who blocked her arm before twisting it to the side. Hanabi reversed her arm and backflipped, throwing Kaito into a roll as he looked at her with a hum.
Kaito brushed off his shirt and balanced on his knees as Hanabi assumed her fighting stance. She was curious what Kaito would do next and how it would affect her to begin with.
"I assumed you'd like to act less casual." Hanabi said while rushing forward, her palms coated in charka.
Kaito launched himself into a flip while he continued to dodge and look for an opening in Hanabi's guard. She launched into a barrage of punches and kicks.
Kaito knew she was angry at him. The frown on her face couldn't be from anything but disappointment. Still? She had little she could blame him for when it came down to it.
It wasn't like he could read her mind and know exactly what she wanted. There was far too much that would be on his mind for it to circle around to it. He was one of her friends, not a simple soldier who could read her mind just by looking at her.
Still? He hummed and launched himself towards her once more. Hanabi settled into a combat stance. Kaito shook his head and started to circle the Hyuga girl once more. She glared at him as he sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Do you ever not find a way to anger me when it comes to doing something?" Hanabi questioned as Kaito rolled his eyes and simply sighed.
"You know I don't mean to be an annoyance to people and such." Kaito said while he rolled his eyes. "You could have told me to stop trying to joke and act more like usual. I cant read minds, Hanabi." Kaito stated and cracked his fingers.
Hanabi said nothing as she blocked a punch and then flipped over Kaito who turned and countered it. Hanabi swung a kick at his head only to be blocked as caught her foot. Kaito sent her flying backwards with a palm strike to her chest.
"You act like a child and yet a Shinobi at the same time." Hanabi said as she sighed and started to lower her stance. "I don't like the idea of my best friend being a simple servant, Kaito." Hanabi said and crossed her arms.
"You don't tell me anything to begin with." Kaito stated and sighed with annoyance. "I don't want to come off as just your cocky friend who doesn't know any better." Kaito stated before humming with annoyance.
He knew Hanabi was going to be upset for a while. He couldn't blame her for the anger. But he could be upset at the fact that she didn't tell him anything. He did like being his usual self, but he didn't want to disrespect the Hyuga family. They were almost like another family to him to begin with.
"I like being casual with you." Kaito said and crossed his arms. "But I don't like to disrespect your family. I thought when I said it changed nothing that it meant I'd be the same." Kaito said and shook his head.
Kaito watched Hanabi walk to one of the plants in the courtyard. She picked up her heels and put it down next to her as Kaito did the same and sat next to her.
"I'm glad at least that you didn't want to leave when my father wanted to step down." Hanabi said which caused Kaito to hum.
"Why would I leave just because the clan would be under new leadership?" Kaito questioned and turned to look at Hanabi. "Your father made sure my family didn't suffer. They still had some place in the world when it came down to it… Plus you've been my friend for years. You think I'm going to just walk away from it?" Kaito asked as Hanabi hummed.
He couldn't tell what his friend was thinking about or planning to do. There were far too many variables when it came down to it… However? That did mean that there was a lot to focus on when it came down to it.
"This is going to suck down the road, you know… People are going to ask questions and get curious." Kaito stated while he cracked his fingers and turned to look at his friend.
"People always ask questions." Hanabi put in as he made him roll his eyes. Kaito could only wonder what would happen next. "We should speak more before tomorrow… My sister will come with the Hokage and our family." Hanabi added and looked to Kaito.
Kaito crossed his legs under him and sighed before slowly smiling. Hanabi rolled her eyes and shook her head to the side and smiled.

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out the future chapters for now will be 1200 words. Next chapter will be in 2-12 weeks and will show more of Kaito and Hanabi bonding and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Ino will be 1200 words as will Tsunade. Karin, Sarada, and Sakura will be 900 words hopefully. I will update sooner or later.
