Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Seeing through Hate. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.

Kaito attempted to sleep following his talk with Hanabi… The key word being TRIED. He was not tired, and sleep seemed to slide off him like a snake.

Kaito grunted and sighed, he was not needed until noon and the night was young. Most of the staff of the Hanabi house were either silent… Or spoke amongst themselves. Kaito didn't, because he didn't have that ability… Nor did he wish to bother the other staff among their duties or thoughts. He had enough respect to try and keep to himself.

They deserved rest, Kaito would not keep them from their slumber to deal with his own problems. That was not the kind of person he was in the end.

"Can't sleep?" Kaito heard from one of the other servants. Kaito nodded. "Kaito, right? One of Lady Hyuga's personal staff if I am correct?" Kaito heard as he nodded and hummed.

"Indeed, you must work for Lord Hyuga." Kaito said as he turned to face the I am familiar with most of Lady Hyuga's servants." Kaito added as he crossed his arms at this.

The other servant said nothing, simply bemused by his comrade's energy. He knew more then anything that Kaito's thoughts which turned to his master. He was concerned with Hanabi, that much was written on his face. It was written in stone that he could not… WOULD not, stop worrying about her. Hanabi was one of his few friends within the house, his lady was someone who he constantly had to protect.

"Your thoughts are easy to read for a bodyguard, you know." The servant put in to which Kaito chuckled.

"You think Lady Hyuga needs a bodyguard?" Kaito asked with a raised eyebrow. "You don't know her like I do, then. She's one of the best Taijitsu practitioners in the region… Maybe even in the world. I doubt she can be beaten hand to hand by anyone other then the best." Kaito stated, his voice sounding more amused then anything.

Kaito was quite curious as to what Hanabi was doing at the moment. She would have surely expected him to be unconscious at the moment, sleeping for tomorrow's big day.

Kaito would humor her, but as for sleeping at the moment? Kaito had no such way of slumbering at the moment. He could only ponder what the future of the century old clad would be when it came down to it.

"You know Lady Hyuga and you have been through a lot; I believe… Have you not?" Kaito heard and shrugged once more. "You have given her plenty of counsel last I heard. What is it like, being so close to one of the highest-ranking members of the clan?" The man questioned to which Kaito hummed while rubbing at his chin.

"She doesn't listen when I said becoming the head of the clan doesn't make thing drastically different." Kaito said, putting his head in his hands. "It isn't like I won't still be serving her in some manner." Kaito stated before taking a deep breath to continue his monologue.

"I don't get her fear when it comes down to it. She is up to the challenge." Kaito said, slowly pulling himself to his feet. "She's been leading the clan for several years after Lord Hyuga had slowly stepped down." Kaito finished as he leaned on a pillar and looked around with interest.

The night was something he could not really begin to enjoy. He remembered then he was a child, he and Hanabi used to count stars. Lord Hyuga allowed it as it kept her training sharp, both of them simply wanted to enjoy the stars, basking in their grand light. It was something that he rather found amusing. He crossed his arms, questioning what would happen next.

"Do you not think Lady Hyuga has doubts of her own about leading the house?" Kaito heard which made him shrug. "She's as human as you and me, you know this. You've been part of her personal staff. Your well aware that she isn't unstoppable. Its one of the reasons why you've been around her, haven't you?" The servant added while Kaito nodded.

He sighed, he wanted to sleep when it came down to it. This talk did nothing but muddle his mind. He bid the servant goodnight and returned to his quarters to sleep.

He cracked his fingers and laid down, eager to banish these thoughts from his own mind when it he thought about it. They poisoned him, making his mind wander to places he didn't even WANT to start to think about it.

Kaito shook his head, the sooner he slept it off? The sooner he could rather think about. He wanted to think of other things. Kaito laid down, his eyes closing easily as he started to attempt to sleep once again.

He didn't know what would be tomorrow.
