In the first chapters we’ll discover what really happened in the districts before the war and who survived. On this journey Prim, Peeta and Rue will have to collaborate to survive the war

1. Chapter one

Chapter 1

Katniss' POV:

I left the hospital wing pretty early this morning, it wasn't long until the medecine took a bigger effect on Prim. But I'm sure she understood everything about what's going on, I don't think she expected it. She doesn't know how bad things are going for us so far. President Coin is trying her hardest to get the biggest impact, she wants people fighting for their lives as soldiers and she wants allies in the capitol. Except doing it without Snow knowing is incredibly risky. The soldiers aren't prepared yet and we don't have that many people from other districts yet.

There is a quite good number of twelve and eleven survivors and still a couple of outsiders from other districts. Those outsiders were usually either born in district thirteen or there before us in their opinions the Panem legal system had always been dysfunctional. There had always been uprisings in different districts, some of them didn't come to anything, some got people killed, and others made people escape here. After the explosion in the arena people were confused and angry, especially the Capitol citizens who wanted a show. Although for some others it was a signal. A call signal for the rebels to get together and find thirteen. A lot of them didn't even make it past their districts. I guess the Peacekeepers kept a close eye on the district after this. It would've been easier to get the signal normally, but you really had to know about district thirteen to even understand what was happening. In the districts the hunger games are usually a replay so the capitol had the opportunity to change and delete some parts of it.

That day we were supposed to watch the games in the town square but however we were asked to go back home. As the peacekeepers left the square, I relaxed myself trying to forget about my sister and the games. Two days later we still had no news about the games, the peacekeepers came here and there to check on us. Weirdly the usual jobs we were meant to do didn't take place. Waiting for the peacekeepers to clear out I ate some bread from my tesseras and prepared to go hunting. After the roads emptied I ran to the electric fence, it wasn't buzzing. I passed under it as usual and ran into the forest. I was peacefully hunting and saw two Peacekeepers walking around the forest and my heart started pounding. They had seen me I'm sure so I got out of my hiding spot and started running to my dad's shack. They followed me slowly but effectively they were now in front of me looking different than what I expected which I thought was a bad thing. What did they want from me? Why were they here?
