Chapter 2
Katniss POV
The peacekeepers looked tired and unstable. They removed their helmets, two feminine faces appeared. They seemed so famished like they've been starved for days. They introduced themselves to me.
" I'm Bonnie"
"And I'm Twill. "
They explained to me why they think thirteen still exists and told me about the signal they think they saw. The next thing Twill said really got to me:
"We think your sister might be in district thirteen. "
But the problem was how will we get there.
" It's clear that we need to find a way to thirteen if you are really sure that she's there. Before that though I should help you guys, and let you eat " I said.
"We should go to my house. You guys would be safer there. "
I took a cloth that was hanging around and cleaned the peacekeepers helmet before they put them back on. Silently we started making our way back to the fence. When we arrived there was a clean buzz made by the fence. We had electricity at this time of the day. Strange, I thought. Did the games start while I was away. Have we been wrong? Was there just a technical problem all of this time. Something felt off about the delay of the games Bonnie and Twill must've been right. I started hearing something more than the buzzing. A hovercraft showed itself in between the clouds. It might have been an illusion but i think it dropped something near the bakery. Since the fence was still buzzing me and the district 8 girls stayed hidden near the fence. Out of the blue it seemed like a ton of smoke was coming out of the bakery, more than usual. The bakery was on fire, it would burn all night.
