Harry Potter's Life….After Hogwarts

This is what life would have been like if Hermione was with Harry instead of Ron, after Hogwarts.

It was the date June, 24th 2008, the year after Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger had graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry, now the Headmaster of the school was currently engaged to his live-in girlfriend and best friend, Hermione. Ron was enjoying life at the Burrow and occasionally visiting Harry at the school, happy to help the newly appointed Headmaster and watch through as his younger sister, Ginny finished her last year at Hogwarts.

What happened to Lord Voldemort, you ask? Well, Harry Potter managed to find the remaining Horocruxes of the Dark Lord and eventually, with former help of the passed Dumbledore, destroy the Dark Lord. This was the biggest honor to the remaining witches and wizards and muggles alike, and another reason he had been appointed Chief of Aurors and was now on a Chocolate Frog Card, (Ron's brother Bill had a kick out of that) as well as Headmaster of the School. The Remaining Death Eaters had perished with Voldemort, as there was now no Dark Marks (When Voldemort had died, he had magic on it that anyone who had followed him as a servant would, then, however perish. Unless they had been taken without will, of course. Which unfortunately excluded Draco Malfoy but included his father Lucius)

Currently, Harry was residing in his studies in his office that used to belong to the former Headmistress McGonagall and preceding that was Albus Dumbledore. Even, Harry who had just barely gotten out of the school was surprised at the sudden job opportunity at Hogwarts. McGonagall after a couple years had decided to retire and leave the school seeking more to do with the Order of the Phoenix. Harry Potter's original plans of being an Auror had been dawdled when the Ministry gave him its excuse of wanting Harry to what they called "protect" the school as Dumbledore and McGonagall had done before him. What he still liked best was that some of the original fascinating and strange odds-and-ends were still in the office from many years before, the fiery Phoenix descended from Dumbledore's Fawkes, and of course the spectacular paintings of all the notable Headmasters and Headmistresses of the school in former years.

Besides Harry being replaced as Headmaster, there had been quite a few other changes in staff positions as well as who he was planning on filling in the teaching job of Divination to Luna Lovegood temporarily, even as young as she was. She had had enough experience to qualify her into that position. (Even though she wasn't out of Hogwarts, Harry figured that it didn't matter since she was of age. And no one else would take the job.) Old Professor Flitwick had passed long before, but as Professor Binns his "ghost" had still decided he wanted to teach, with or without Dumbledore. Hagrid's beard was growing still and turning gray, but he was still the Keeper of the Keys and Care of Magical Creatures teacher anyhow. With Headmaster McGonagall's Transfiguration position open, he quickly gave the subject to Hermione, brilliant as she was at the subject, to her. Harry with the strange and absurd help of the Weasley Twins (to whom he was suspicious about) had managed to "convince" Remus Lupin to re teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. The rest of the teaching positions had been filled by nameless witches and wizards that had offered to, and had the right experience.

Harry Potter was just now awakening from a deep sleep that night and thanks to his study with Professor Dumbledore, without any nightmares or absurd dreams. However, he was still pretty uncomfortable and chilled even after He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's Death …..
