Well, I was so proud of myself that I immediately posted the following chapter, as you can compare this on my Rewrite the Stars, it's been months that it didn't touch that fic, but I'm already halfway in completing chapter Ten of it.

Chapter Two

"His Audacity"

Krista just finished her bowl of food while Ymir was annoying Connie over his new set of buckles.

While she enjoyed their company, she slowly felt a sudden weariness out of nowhere, like someone was there observing her from afar. She moved her head to roam her eyes, but she saw no one. Everybody's busy eating their food, and most of them were preoccupied talking to each other.

Maybe she was just thirsty so she drank her water, when she placed it down; Ymir's arm suddenly wrapped on her neck and pulled her closer to her seat. She almost spilled the water on the table so she scowled at Ymir.

"Nahh, Connie, maybe you should admit that you're too fat that it made your buckle snap out. Good thing Krista didn't have that buckle, or else she would fell on those fucking bastards down below. Right?" Ymir was on her again, claiming to everyone that she was hers.

"Ymir, you should stop annoying Connie about his buckle. We all have defective gears nowadays; That explains that all our supplies need to be replaced." Krista defended Connie. She removed Ymir's hand on her neck and went back to her proper position.

"Oh yeah, all I remembered was the Captain saved you when you fell down the wall today. Then I heard you called him idiot while you're running away..." Jean joined the topic.

Krista suddenly felt anxious by the topic, she glanced her eyes at Ymir who was looking at her with piercing eyes, her friends were looking at her across the table. Eren's green eyes were on her and she can guess that he was worried.

"Or maybe you just heard her wrong?" Eren butt in too. Krista immediately cast her eyes on Eren. He was so kind to her ever since.

"We all heard what she said when she turned her back on us, Eren, even Armin who is beside you reacted to it." Annie faced Eren who sat across him.

"If it's true that she said that, why wasn't the Captain angry with her?" Eren followed up. Eren banged down his cup on the table and Krista can hear it with a hint of annoyance. She was pleased with Eren who was trying to defend her.

"Eren, we all hard it, don't pretend that you didn't hear anything that time. Or you just have to clean up your ears because it's clogged up already." Jean went back on teasing Eren.

"he was angry. She called him idiot, I was right there near to Krista; she said it while she's walking behind me," Mikasa spoke while her eyes were on her food. She didn't bother to cast her cold eyes on everyone.

Krista felt chilled. Mikasa was right and now she was not here to also defend her, unlike Eren.

Then under the table, she felt Ymir's palm pressed on her thigh. It was just light touch, and then she turned to face Ymir's freckled face.

"It was clear to my ears that you called him an idiot and I am proud that you called him that, Krista. He should know that you can lounge your fist on him in the future. But why did you called him an idiot?" Ymir was now frowning and Krista can't form the right words to explain what happened to her and the Captain.

She knew Ymir so well. When it comes to boys, she always barriered Krista with her overprotectiveness. When a guy looked at Krista, Ymir would throw her prying eyes on them. If anyone would try to degrade her, Ymir would be there and defend her.

But the case between Krista and Captain Levi was different. The impact was affecting her personally, she can't decide which of the Captain's actions have offended her when they landed on the wall.

"I saw what happened. All of you couldn't witness what happened since they landed behind the boxes of bombs. I was there when they--." Mikasa suddenly spilled out. But she paused on that, keeping her eyes on the meal in front of her.

Oh Geez.

And now Krista wants to panic as she wants to meet Mikasa's eyes since she was still looking at her food. Krista wants to tell her through eye communication not to tell them about what happened.

"Why exactly happened?" Ymir was serious and her hand formed into a ball of a fist.

Oh, damn it. Did she saw it? Krista couldn't widen her eyes because she knows that it was already huge. But now that she knew that there was someone else during that time, Krista couldn't help but feel ashamed and nervous.

Will Mikasa spill what she saw?

Mikasa placed down her spoon and looked at Krista. Krista immediately gazed into her eyes and secretly begged her not to say anything.

Krista hooked her head with a hint of nervousness on her face.

Then Mikasa spoke.

A moment later, all of her comrades were still surprised after Mikasa shared what she witnessed.

"Oh my, I still can't believe that their cables were tangled. That was dangerous, what if the hook plunged into your skin?" Sasha commented in disbelief and so were the others.

"Th-that was shocking. For the first time in history, I never heard the Captain tripped in landing." Eren muttered.

"Krista, thank you for attempting to save me. We all should be thankful because Captain Levi was there watching out for us." Armin

Ymir was also shocked. "Do you mean that the Captain's body was stuck with you while the cables wrapped you together, Aghh, if I only knew, I would have saved you so that you'll be tangled with me. I won't be angry if I can smell your smelly armpit." Ymir was ridiculous.

"Yeah, the Captain was a clean freak, so why would he be pleased by your stinky armpit. you're a girl, You should practice proper hygiene." Jean was bored now.

She eyed Mikasa and thanked her.

Then Mikasa winked at her and for a moment Krista felt happy about it. The cold and ruthless female soldier she ever knew was helping her.

"Yeah, I think I just need time alone. See you later." She told Ymir and the others and walked towards the hallway. Now as she approached the dark hallway, she saw a small thin figure leaning at the wall.

For a second, she stopped and hesitated to go further.

It was the Captain.

And his eyes were on her.

She thought that it would be shameful to head back to her table to avoid him, but it would be more shameful if she will show him that she was affected by their past encounter. She just has to brace herself.

Even if Hange explained to the Captain why she borrowed her, the Section Commander still cannot take her side between Krista and the Captain. Calling him, an idiot was still unacceptable.

As she paced towards the dark hall, she still has to show him respect. Maybe it's too late to apologize, but she also swore to herself that she should not apologize for calling him an idiot.

"Leaving early?"

Krista looked at him and stopped. They were one meter away due to the corridors' stiff length. She felt annoyed seeing him.

"Who cares," Krista said and stepped to move away but a hand grabbed her fist.

"You can't run away this time. Let's talk about your behavior last time. It's beyond consideration" he holds her wrist,

She felt it tightened and it's hurting as it gripped her.

"What do you want?" Krista pulled her hand but he refuses to let it go. She was cursing him inside her mind.

"If I know that you will just annoy me after I saved your life, I should have let a titan eat you." Levi kept his voice low, but authoritatively.

"Well, you made a big mistake. Old man." Krista said then pulled her hands back from his grasp and continues to walk away from him...

Run Krista. . .

Old man?

Levi just wants to ask himself about why did he cared so much about what this kid says. Why was he so affected by her words? Why was he so pissed by her simple worthless insults?

He can't understand why she was defying him, no matter how he controls his voice into a scary and commanding tone as to how he usually does. But this kid? Who the hell was she? It's been a month since she joined the Scouts, but how dare she defy him. Levi followed her until they reached the 2nd floor.

The chatter from the mess hall has now faded on his ears; they were not that near to people so he again grabbed Krista without worrying that anyone will see them along the way.

So this time, he held her small waist and pinned her to the wall.

What a handful tiny girl and this time he promised to himself that he will confront her stubbornness one on one. he pushed her shoulders back and moved his face near her bewitching face. Her yellow golden hair was ponytailed in a low manner that some of the loosen hair covered her face.

Involuntarily, his hand wiped the intruding hair on her face and now all he can see was her big wide eye, it was blue if only there were light here, but because it's so dim here, he can only see her eyes as greyish orbs. She has long eyelashes and perfectly aligned face features which made her face look so perfect.

But he's not one of those guys who dreamed to be noticed by this kid. She's beautiful in appearance but knowing how disrespectful and cocky she was, Levi could only tell how ugly her personality was. She's the worst.

He wants to beat her if only she was a guy. But hell, she can't hurt a girl.

" Old man? I'm not done with you yet. Is that what you think of me?" Levi asked as he squared his jaw. "you wouldn't be standing in front of me if I was a fucking old man." He thrust his face forward, leading his mouth to hers, but stopped immediately in the middle of the air. Her lips were now just an inch from his...

His eye widened by the sudden act. His brows twitch in curiosity.

Was he trying to kiss her?

Krista gasps and closed her eyes. She leaned at the cold wall, while their breath mixed between them and she's fenced in by his arms. Her world was now spinning so fast.

Not just long ago, Captain Levi was pinning her on the wall. And now he was trying to kiss her!

And only the Gods know what anyone would say if someone might find the two of them like this.

The Captain was not like this according to what she heard, he was not into girls. No one has ever seen him with a girl or much worst, pining a girl like this. it seems that this behavior is new to her. She doesn't have a fucking idea about his deeper personality.

She now opened her eyes and met the Captain's bored orbs just an inch from her. Her heart raised. She can smell his scent. Sweat and a faded male perfume.

"a-are you trying to. . . " she bravely asked even if her heart was pounding.

"No one tries to piss me off. Or else-. ." he snarled against her face.

"Or else what?" Krista said in a flat voice while meeting his feisty eyes, she can still feel his strong hands on her shoulders, pushing her to the cold concrete behind her, and she can't move too much because if that happens, she will surely brush her lips to his mouth.

She has to remember that this man was known as Humanity's strongest living soldier. He can kill her in just one snap, but hell does she care. She's not afraid of him.

Then the Captain just gazed at her with his merciless killer eyes. He's taller than her even if he's the smallest man in the army. Maybe she's also that smallest girl in the army.

How pathetic to hear that the two smallest people in the scouts have clashed.

"Or I'll be happy to deal with you." Levi stared and watched her in the eye Krista's heart was beating so fast that she feels like it will explode.

The Captain was so scary, as his dot grey irises glared at her, and then she tries to push his body so hard that he stepped back finally, but his facial expression was still flat and bored.

Now he was standing a little far from her. She was glad that air came between them, she can't help but notice that she's already sweating from the back.

She's anxious but she's just waiting for his angry reaction. She just felt courage within her.

"Let me guess, you're not used to people who don't obey you? Was it because you expected me to be scared of you?" Krista

He looked at her with that scary piercing face, he crossed his arms and look at the other way. His dark expression was still visible just like how he usually does every day.

A flat reaction like it's killing him to boredom and she felt so good that she has his attention tonight.

"Yeah, you were required to fucking respect your superiors. it looks like you feel that you are higher than Erwin's position to talk back at me," he said.

"But I have a good reason for that," she raised her eyebrow and crossed her arms.

"Well then, I just need payback for saving your life. A thank you or a little appreciation, a little shit for your Captain." he simply said.

"What do you even mean by that? I didn't ask you to do it." Krista said he's pathetic

"How can you ask me if you're unaware that you're out of gas?" he said stoically.

Again, He came upon her putting both of his hands on the walls beside Krista's head. Levi can't stop himself. He feels pleasure when he is close to her. It looks like someone is controlling his body despite being conscious of his moves. He just really wants to show her who's the boss.

He moved forward towards the side of her head and angled his mouth right to her ears.

Of course, she flinched but Levi can feel that she had enough in defying him. "And it seems that you treated me with unacceptable behavior. Is this how you thank the man who saved your filthy life?" he asked as his lips brushed her ears lightly...

He felt hot inside as she froze and jerk a little.

"Well, Thank you is enough, but it would have been better if you just let go of me when we landed at the wall," she said while maintaining her body still against his chest.

"If there's an idiot between us, well it's you. Why would you jump out of the wall without checking your gas?" he showed her a little rage but it quickly fades as she stuttered a little against him.

Then he saw her that he bit her lip.

And there it is. The funny feeling inside Levi started. He wants to devour her mouth.

"and you put a lot of perfume on you, you're welcome, I just complimented your filthy sweet scent. ." he said in her ears then moved his face backward so that he will face her youthful fiery features... His chest brushed her front. And Levi couldn't help but get softened by the sight of her lower lip being bitten. He roamed his eyes on her goddess-like features and he thought that all he heard about her was right.

She's such a god damn goddess.

Her blue eyes were so round this time that Levi wants to give in and stop being so hard on her. But he is not contented yet; her brows were still furrowed while throwing that knife-like glance.

Even if she was shaking inside, she still managed to keep her chin up.

"Your comments about me at the wall were not so sweet Captain. But I refuse to take it as a compliment," she mumbled despite leaning herself more to the wall even if it's a dead-end.

How she wished that he will step back away from him. After all, she can't push him again because the more she shows defiance, the more the Captain will trap her close to him. Right now, she can't refuse to feel the warm breath of Captain Levi across her skin. And it tingled her nerves and it sent butterflies to her belly.

Is she out of her mind? How can she let a grown man pin her into the dark walls when she is still nineteen years old?

And how old is he??? thirty? Thirty-five? Thirty-seven?

"Calling me old man was not sweet either. You don't know what sweet sounds like. Do you want me to show you?" Krista felt choked by his words. She wants to push him away because he's thin body was now pressed to her. His face was nearing her and she can't stop herself from breathing rapidly. She kept her face facing sideways in order not to meet his face at front.

Then suddenly, his both hands moved and forcing her head to face her. he thrust his face towards her but he didn't moved so much close.

Krista felt her heart was about to come up in her throat when the Captain's nose brushed to her nose.

"Captain, no." She closed her eyes and how she wished that she could just jump so high in embarrassment. Her mind raised as she can feel the scary Captain's forehead on her.

Is he going to kiss me again?

Her mind asked.

Well, for a moment she thought that the Captain was a record-breaker. No one has even dared to touch her like this.

Not even Ymir.

Or Reiner.

Or most of the boys around her.

But his audacity.

"Sweet comes up when your lover treats you like this." He just whispered across her face. His voice was deep and serious. And she can smell his breath. It has the smell of food they ate and most of it was a smell of the potato.

Oh, she bet that he ate a lot of potatoes instead of the soup. The soup was made of another herb, and the potato was steamed alone.

"You expect me to give you a payback? Is that how you describe your service as a scout? You disappoint me. Asking your cadet to be--..." she won't know what to call it.

"To be what? What is in your mind, Krista? I didn't ask you for a payback specifically yet, but please, I'm dying to know what's in your mind." he whispered in her ear.

No. . Krista's body refused to move a muscle. He's too close right now that it clouded her mind. She can feel how he tilts his head out of curiosity. His scent was strong on his shoulders.

His chest was leaning on her chest already. Her breast stiffs as she wants to push him away and run away "And for your information, I'm not paid as your knight in shining armor. You were trained to fight. Not be saved. Not that I regret saving you, but I didn't expect you to delinquently disrespected me."

"P-please, will you get away from me? What if anyone will see us like this?" Krista said. Her cheeks were now pink.

"If you can just apologize right now. I will stop." The Captain huskily whispered or her.

And he chairs stood it its end.

Why will she do that?

"I-- I won't." She replied.

"Fine. Then I'll ask you for a payback" he darkly announced between them.

"Can we just discuss this in a decent manner? Someone might see us like this "

" I don't fucking care, I don't usually ask for payback because we don't do that shit here, but since you seem to care for our actions last time, well, congratulations. You won my attention, kid." The Captain sniffed her neck and at once she felt her knees numb.

This is a disaster Krista. Don't fall for him.

"How sure are you that pining me like this is worth it?" she asked.

"It's been a long time since I followed my instincts, Lenz. Isn't that amazing?" Levi whispered, and it made all her hair stoop up.

"How pathetic. Do your instincts tell you that paybacks would help you gain respect?" Krista says it on his face. But he just chuckled.

Even with that gesture, he sounds so handsome. But she should set it aside.

"Tch. . . are you interested?"

"Ok. Now what kind of payback do you want?" Krista said

Levi frozen, now that Krista is asking . . . what did he want from this? All he thinks is that he likes the feeling of being close to her.

This time, he moves back. Freeing her from his body.

"I can't decide what payback I want. But I want to keep an eye on you starting this time. I'll be www1asking for the payback now and then..." he said without looking at her. "Perhaps I'll double the time of your punishment or other things."

"Will I owe you personally?"

"That depends on you." He said. He doesn't want to compromise her, but he wanted to let her explore how much payback can he give to him.

"I don't mind. And that is until?" Krista asked.

"Until I'm satisfied. From now on, I'll come for you in many ways to ask for the payback. It's either you wash my clothes, fold them, iron them, or perhaps, you may do all the paper works that kept me up all night." Levi insisted.

"So this has nothing to do with the scene that I made this afternoon? Since it's personal." Krista said

"You know, I really don't mind if you don't want to pay me back for saving your life if you did not embarrass me what I've done. But since I can't militarily punish you, well then I should think something else. I'll come to you if ever I wanted you to do something that pleased me." Levi simply answered.

Krista's eyes widen.

"So, did you mean that you are asking me to do anything else? For a payback?"

"You disrespected me in front of your comrades, and that affects me personally. Is that a good example to the others? Maybe someday you'll be handy for me. Plus, I saved your ass. That's why keep in your mind that you still owe me." Levi said and started to walk out at the stairs to the mess hall. He left Krista.

Krista felt like he left her hanging, out of the blue Captain Levi was like this. Well, Krista was not good at paper works.

She sighed,

His gestures meant something. His tone of voice, the way he looked at her, his broad shoulders covering her tiny body while pinned at the walls of the corridor, his hair that covers his forehead, revealing only his nose. And those raven loops of hair of him, she shivered when it brushed her ears and cheeks. He was trying to scare her for disrespecting him after he saved her life. Is this a sign that she is causing herself trouble with her Captain?

Times had passed after that day, she was asked by Section Commander Hange to spend her weeks on the other side of the town with her squad. She's now at the stables to prepare for a journey to the newly assigned area.

While she's adjusting the straps that are connected to the horses, Captain Levi was there inspecting everything. She avoided meeting eyes with him and tries to talk to Ymir and others. This way she will be distracted about how weird is the Captain towards her the other day. It was confusing on her part, she waited for him to come to her and tell her what she must do a first thing for the payback. But it never happened. Three days had already passed but he was not approaching her.

Right now, she was following the Captain's direction, she waited for him to meet her eyes, but it looks like he was avoiding her. The Captain did not even look her way, he's busy directing his subordinates to put everything in place before his squad left on another mission...

It seems like the Captain did not remember what happened to their talk. So she thought that maybe he was not serious about what happened last time.

She just has to lay low to avoid catching his attention and maybe forget about what happened. She left the HQ together with Section Commander Hange.

Days had passed again and she heard nothing from the Captain. She can't forget how he treated her in the hallway as she agreed with the payback, but she still hasn't heard about him.

She planned to talk to Levi again but she failed. He's away for five days and was always busy. She just wants to make things clear because she doesn't want to overthink. She kept on picturing out the way he stood so close to her. His scent. . The way he brushes his mouth to her ears and the tip of his nose.

All she heard was that the squad of Captain Levi was on a mission. That's why she didn't see them for a couple of days.

The scene that night when he pinned her to the wall was shunting her, what did she do to deserve such attention from this cold man? Like he was not like himself at that time. He was supposed to be cold, well-measured, attentive, and stern, but when both of them clash, he loses his self-composure. Krista even felt worse. She wanted to pull him closer and. . .

Stop it, Krista. She whispered to herself.

It will bring her no good if she goes with her thoughts.

Weeks have passed. In the morning, she will scout at the walls, and in the afternoon, she's in charge of cleaning the headquarters. It's been like this for days and she's getting used to it.

Right now, she's at the HQ, It's already dark, so she's preparing for a good night bath, she'll sleep in the headquarters and leave in the morning when the scouts arrive from their mission. And she just can't stop thinking about the Captain.

She heard that he will arrive tomorrow and they will see each other again.

She's holding the lamp and was headed to the bathroom. After taking a bath, she went back to her assigned room. When she entered her quarters, the light of the lamp spread entirely in the place, she noticed a figure sitting at the side of the bed.

Startled, Krista let go of the lamp and it fell to the ground, now it's completely dark. She winced when she recognized him.

It's Captain Levi. He's wearing his grey shirt and his uniform pants.

Suddenly a part of her was celebrating for finally seeing him again, and at the same time, there's a part of her that is terrified. But she just can't determine what it is. It's like mixed emotions. Her nerves were shaking to see the sight of him. Krista remembered all the nights when she couldn't sleep because his image appeared when she closes her eyes.

Nervous, excited, terrified, never mind.

"Piece of shit, now it's completely dark," he said.

But as they speak, there was light in the room which came from the moon. She can see the shadow of Levi reflected on the floor because there's a window behind him. Krista holds her towel that is wrapping her naked body.

"C-Captain. . I thought you'll arrive tomorrow?" she asked

"Krista? Is that you?" he asked, he looked at the figure that was standing at the doorway. Tiny with pale skin, her skin was consistent under the limelight of the moon. He always knew her voice, loud but sweet and he can't stop himself from looking so hard at her figure in the dark to spot a good look on her.

"Yes, I'm sorry I let go of the lamp. I . . I was startled. ." she said as her heart was pounding

"Now, we don't have a light here. The Hq only had one lamp damn it. How can we see when we go downstairs." he mumbled as he tries to get up in a sit position when he noticed the pile of clothes beside him.

So she's about to get dressed here. Levi's body was moved by the thought. He dint knew she'll be assigned here for the night, just like his duty when he was still a new cadet in the corps. And now, she's here. . The restless feeling inside him faded when he saw her. The sight of her cleavage way back when she's on top of him, the smooth hair that brushes her face, and the sweet scent she produces that day. Now, Levi was staring at her who was not fully clothed.

What a playful faith.

"I-- I can search for a candle. I'm sorry; I'll just dress up first. I have to go to the other room." Krista said with a trembling tone

"Hey, are these your clothes?" Levi held the clothes to her while sitting.

As she looked at him, he glanced at the clothes that were properly folded on the bed beside him; she just remembered that her underwear was placed at the top of the clothes that she placed on her bed.

She blushed.

She forgot that the Captain was sitting on her bed. She remembered the last time they talked. The intense touch, the way he smelled her neck, and when he said that he liked her scent. It was like he is checking her through her clothes. Her cheeks turned red, conscious about what she's wearing. It's been a month since their last encounter.

"Oh, uhm. . Yes Captain," she said in a low voice.

"Well then" Captain Levi stood up. Handling her clothes now, he's standing.

She looked away, and as she stretches her arm to receive it, their fingers touched, and just as she was about to pull her arm, something grabbed her fingers, fingers intertwined with hers, while they both holding the clothes.

Her heart jumped, unable to find the exact words to speak. He locked his eyes with her. She searched his face, and he is waiting for her to react to the small gesture he made.

"Captain, " she pulled her arm but his finger gripped hers. She doesn't feel wrong about this; it's just that, she didn't have any idea how to respond in this matter. She's confused about what to do about the Captain who was looking at her this way.

He's not angry or pissed or frowning. It's like he is expressionless as he pulls her, but she didn't budge. How can she get close to the Captain if she's
