As soon as the sun swung over the horizon, they rose and continued. Today, the mood was relaxed. Although Edmund was angry with Ramon in the morning, they now had fun together and laughed.
" When I was little, I was a real bastard," Edmund said with a laugh. They were telling childhood stories.
" I do not believe it," Ramon said in surprise. Lucy nodded.
" I do. He didn't like me. According to him, I was a little and making up a child, "she said to her brother.
" You?"
The siblings nodded.
" I know it might be ... a personal question, but," Ramon paused. "Did you really come from another world?"
Lucy looked at her brother. A shadow flickered across his face.
" Yes," she replied. "We're from another world. As we later learned, the four of us would come here once they knew when Narnia was created."
" And we really came," Edmund smiled sadly. "Someone like a traitor, someone like a brave man."
" What was your job?"
" Our job was to break the White Witch's curse and defeat her," Lucy said, shrugging.
" Well, you never did," came an icy voice behind them. In an instant, everyone turned, and the White Witch herself stood in front of them. Lucy swallowed dryly.
" Oh, nice to see you again, especially you, Lucy," the slimy looked, almost like a snake.
" What do you want?" She hissed at her.
The white witch laughed falsely.
" Exactly what so many years ago. The government and your death. "
" You know very well that killing the two of us will not be enough."
" Believe me, that's enough to overthrow your stupid race from the throne and sit on it, real royal blood," she gritted her teeth. A chill ran down their spine.
Edmund lunged at her with a shout, and while the others drew their swords, he tried to defeat her himself. But even when Lucy and Ramon joined, they couldn't beat a woman as tall and strong as Jadis.
" Look out!" Edmund called out suddenly. The witch drew her magic wand from somewhere, which in an instant anybody turned into a statue.
" Edmund!" Lucy shouted as a gray, cold statue suddenly stood in front of Jadis instead of her brother.
" You bitch!" She growled. The White Witch began to laugh triumphantly.
" You'll pay for this!" Lucy called.
" Me? But please don't be ridiculous! How do you, such a little girl, want to fight me? You are nothing but a louse under the wound, which I also have to get rid of."
" Only through my corpse," Ramon stood in front of her.
" Oh, did you bring a pet, too? How nice. A small child in need of protection. "
" I do not need any protection. He is not here to lay down his life for me, but to fight with me against you, "the queen said firmly.
The White Witch just raised an eyebrow. She measured the people in front of her for a moment. At her enormous height, they seemed like little dwarves to her.
" Okay, darling" she said, shrugging. She aimed her wand at Ramon. "But don't forget, dear Lucy, I know more about you than you think. All about him."
" Don't you dare touch him," she said through gritted teeth.
" Exactly as I thought," she laughed.
Ramon took advantage of the situation while the two women looked at each other, unobtrusively drew his dagger and threw it at the witch without hesitation. She stuck into the witch's heart with precision. But even though she staggered, she drew her dagger and her wound healed.
" You won't kill me so easily," she smirked.
Courage dear child , she heard His voice again. Lucy smiled. She knew that all she had to do was fight her fears alone. But she also knew that Aslan was not leaving her at this moment.
" And you won't scare me so easily," she smiled and nodded at Ramon. They both fought the witch at once. She was big, she was strong, but like this island, she was under the power of magic. The greater was their faith, the more she weakened.
" That's for every single life you've taken!" Lucy called, slashing at her leg. The witches leg broke and fell to the ground.
" You think you beat Edmund!"
She mercilessly pierced her hand. The witch cried out in agony. Well, then she dropped her sword and grabbed the dagger in her hand. Ramon stepped away from her. He left it to the queen.
" And this," she stabbed her in the chest. "For Aslan."
A trickle of blood flowed from the witch's mouth. Lucy was angry. She twisted the dagger in her chest, causing her even more pain.
" And for His Narnia. It never belonged to you, Jadis, it will never belong to you. "
Lucy stepped away from the witch and watched her fall to the ground. Before her body could touch the ground, it turned to dust and disappeared into the wind.
" Edmund!" She exclaimed happily as she saw him standing on his feet, alive and well. She ran and jumped into his arms.
He was breathing hard, as if he wasn't even breathing the whole time he'd been turned into a statue. He said nothing, just hugged her.
However, he looked at Ramon.
Thank you, it wasreflected in the king's eyes. He saw it all and heard it, he just couldn't move.
Ramon bowed gently, but was silent.
" I see the tree," Lucy said suddenly. The men looked at her blankly. She pointed a finger in front of her. There was a tree on the hill in front of them that looked just before flowering.
It was about noon that day, and they were hoping that this special expedition would end.
" Do you think there will be any obstacles ahead of you?" Ramon asked quietly.
" I think so," she replied.
The closer they got to the tree, the more they felt magic. Everyone was constantly looking around because they felt that someone was watching them. Even as they walked, they felt as if the air was thickening. It was hot here, breathing was bad. As they climbed the top, the sun began to slowly set toward the horizon. Well, they still had a few hours before the sun will disappear completely.
" It is quiet here. Nothing's happening, "Edmund muttered under his breath. He barely said it, suddenly they saw familiar faces. Archer Phoros, swordsman Erin and Lax.
" Friends!" called Edmund. When the men saw who was standing in front of them, they bowed respectfully.
" Your Majesty! Ramon! "The men shouted cheerfully.
" How is this possible? You've fallen! "The young archer wondered. One of the men, Lax, shrugged.
" We have been given permission to show up for a while. Make your adventure a little more enjoyable. "
" Great, come on, come on, we have food and drink!"
Edmund and Ramon immediately forgot why they were here. Well, Lucy doesn't. She stood far away, trying to avoid looking at Lax. She looked proud. Her head was high.
But despite her constricted throat, she walked with the men. Near the tree, they had food spread out on the ground. Lucy tried to sit between Edmund and Ramon, which she did. Nevertheless, Lax sat close to her.
Her two faithful companions happily ate and took over the experiences and funny stories from the fight.
She felt Lax watching her. She swallowed dryly, trying to get the lump in her throat so she wouldn't cry.
" Ramon," Phoros said. "I see you have a bow here. Come shoot. I hope you finally beat me, now that you're a good five years older than when we last shot."
Ramon laughed.
" I'll kick your ass," he said, standing up. There was no barrier between her and Lax.
" That's not a bad idea, Erin, may I ask?" Edmund dug into the warrior.
They all left. Only she and him remained.
" Your Majesty," he said. She turned her head away from him.
" Lucy," he tried again, moving closer to her. "You're beautiful today, you'd be worth sin."
" I am a queen, you should show respect," she hissed at him.
" Look," he pointed to the fighting men. "They're far away and they're busy. They won't help you. Just as no one helped you then."
" Don´t touch me! I'm stronger now, you won't get me again! "She jumped to her feet, and Lax followed.
" Oh, dear," he said, running a finger down her cheek. His touch literally burned her. "You're nothing but an ordinary whore. Even your brothers didn't want to protect you when they sent you among us then. You're lucky to run into me, Dear."
"You ruined my life," she said in a look of disgust and she spitted at him. Lax shuddered, wiped himself, then looked at Lucy. Fire flashed in his eyes.
"You´ll regret this. And since your sidekicks don't notice us ..."he hissed, grabbing her hair and pulling her by the tree.
" Ow! Let me go, you snake! "She shouted.
" Still better than being a slut in the army," he said seemingly calmly.
" Leave me alone!" She said between her teeth.
" And what will you do? Will you stab my dagger in the back? Don't be ridiculous, you can't do anything! "
Lax released her and she fell to the ground. She held her head with her hands. The pain was still throbbing in her skin.
" Stand up," he ordered her, but she decided to ignore him.
" I said, stand up!" He growled, scratching her hair again, forcing her to stand up. She cried out again. Why can't anyone hear her?
" Now you'll please me here, and if they happen to find us, you'll say it was your idea."
" Otherwise what?"
" Otherwise I'll make it worse," he grinned.
" Will you kill me? That would be just a redemption for me, "she laughed at him. Suddenly his head hit the trunk of a tree, probably with great force, because there were drops of blood left on the trunk. Lax slid to the ground.
" What are you doing to my sister?" Edmund exclaimed.
" Slut," he whispered.
" I'm asking what you did to her!" he exclaimed with anger and pierced Lax's hand to the ground with his sword. Lax shouted.
" Not just me!" He laughed. As if still, despite the pain, he found the courage to make fun of the king. "We made a whore in the back lines of her! But me!" he called in agony. "I was the first of them all!"
He couldn't take it anymore. Lucy had to cover her eyes and leave. She was used to everything, but Edmund didn't hold back. First he cut off the man's fingers, one by one, for touching them. He lost both eyes - for looking at her hoarsely. And though everyone knew it was just Lax´s delusion, Edmund couldn't stop himself.
The body, like the other two men, evaporated as the witch´s had before.
They didn't see Edmund at sunset. Neither Lucy nor Ramon knew where he had gone. He came when the stars shone in the sky.
" And now tell me everything. From the beginning."
