Notes: It's the morning after Blitzo and Stolas's date. Octavia gets into some drama with her dad.

Blitzo had finally woken up after that trainwreck of a date last night. He didn't even drink that much yet still had the slightest tinge of a wine headache.

He sat up in Stolas's bed, rubbing away at his temples as an attempt to make his pain go away.

Speaking of, where was Stolas?

Oh. He was retching the contents from last night in the master bathroom sink.

Blitzo continued to sit up in the plush bed, rubbing at his temples, while he heard the muffled sounds of Stolas in the bathroom and a pair of footsteps getting louder. He opened his eyes back up after hearing a knock at at the door.

It was Octavia, dressed in her usual everyday wear, listening to the music blaring away from the set of earbuds connected to her phone.

"Morning...Blitzo, right?" she said, pointing at Blitzo.

The demon nodded.

"I'm guessing you two were drinking last night," Octavia chuckled, brushing her bangs out of her face. She took the earbuds off and crumpled them into her pocket.

Stolas stumbled out of the bathroom looking disheveled, with a bit of spit on his lower lip. " Good morning my precious owlette," Stolas greeted her exhaustedly.

"You want me to get either of you anything?"

The trio met in the kitchen. Blitzo drifted near the edge of the table. He dropped one of those baking soda tablets into a glass of water, letting it fizz away before sitting down and shooting back the drink. He made a glass of the same for Stolas.

"Thank you Blitzo," Stolas said before groggily sitting next to him.

Octavia was on the other side of the kitchen, rummaging through the cupboard for a bit of silverware.

"This isn't just a one time thing?" She asked turning her head to look over at Stolas, the clatter of silverware halting to a stop.

"It's...complicated sweetheart," Stolas responded, rolling his wrist while trying to gather his words.

"Then make it uncomplicated."

"It's not quite that simple dear."

He intertwined his hands together, cupping them on the table.

"Adults can make…rash decisions..."

Stolas leaned a bit lower, jutting out his shoulders and elbows, hands still locked together, and giving a slight bounce on the word "rash".

"Decisions that might...hurt other people, even if it was the better of two options."

He stood his body back up, stiffly pulling his form together.

"So you either take the good road,"

He looked down as he splayed out one of his hands.

"Even if it hurts in the moment."

He shook the splayed out hand for emphasis.

"Or."

He splayed out his other hand.

"You continue down the bad one."

He shook the other hand similarly then looked back up at his owlette.

"Dad," Octavia lightly pressed her hand to her chest. "do you... hate Mum more than you love me?" She balled up the collar of her shirt with her talons.

"Octavia no," Stolas slightly reached a hand out looking back up at his daughter. "Of course not!"

He limply retracted and crumpled his hands together, the tips of his talons touching and slightly interlocking.

"I love you my dear. The whole situation with her is..." Stolas closed his eyes for a moment, deeply inhaling before letting out a heavy sigh. "Tavi, I love you more than you might ever know. Life can just be..."

He freed a hand and ran his talons through his feathers, briefly looking down before giving his full attention back to Octavia.

"..messy. I think you're familiar with that." He gave a slight nod, brows furrowed.

"Yeah, I am." Octavia loosened her grip on the collar of her shirt, her arm falling limply back to her side.

"Tell you what, to make it up to you we could...go on that father-daughter trip you have always wanted?" He unfurrowed his brows, clapping his hands together. "I'll even ask Loona to tag along so you two can mingle," Stolas said, freeing a hand to circle his pointer finger at her.

"Okay, just don't embarrass me," Octavia said, a smile now creeping on her face. "You're not bringing your boyfriend too?" she joked, jerking her head towards the imp.

"I- *ahem* He'll..." Stolas stopped, flustered, looking at Blitzo, still sitting right next to him, a shocked expression now plastered on his face. "He'll be accompanying us as well but we'll stay out of your feathers."

Octavia laughed, making Stolas aglow.

"Alright dad."
