... Susan.
She walked quietly away from the door of Demund's study. On the one hand, she liked her little sister. But only when she was in her pants and shirt and had a sword in her hand. But only until it became clear that she had planned most of the strategies.
Until then, her little sister was unnoticed. As if she were an ordinary maid.
She began to be jealous of her the moment she gradually became a woman. She began to grow into beauty, during their famous balls she heard men sighing over the beauty of her younger sister. They didn't notice her.
She was jealous because Lucy was the one Aslan appeared in her dreams. Lucy was the first to be in Narnia, and Lucy was a talented young woman who knew how to lead thousands of soldiers into battle.
But most of all, she was jealous that her two brothers were able to cut themselves for Lucy.
Susan snorted. They used to fight for her, she was a heroine. Dust is falling on her now.
She rolled her eyes.
Oh yes, those few dozen marriage offers don't really lift her spirits.
Susan marched through the castle until she reached the courtyard. There she met her court lady.
" Your Majesty," the woman said flatly. Susan closed her sour. She knew the woman was at least as slimy and cold as a snake, she didn't like her. But on the other hand, she always knew how to come up with something that would lift Susan's spirits. Something bad.
" Sarah," she greeted her.
" What's bothering you?"
" Well, try to guess," she rolled her eyes.
" Oh yes, I understand, Your Majesty. Your sister, "she whispered. Susan nodded.
" Yes, I heard about Prince Corin's visit today. I'm guessing your brothers want to protect your sister as much as possible, right? "
Susan frowned. Is it so easy to read?
" How do we have fun today?" The woman laughed.
" I don't know, you could come up with something that would finally work out," Susan hissed. Sarah laughed. She pulled a tiny bottle from a small pocket in her sleeve.
" I use this for digestive problems. But I have to use it carefully. Just two drops into a large glass of water. And as far as I know, your sister puts a night of water on the bedside table every day. In case she was thirsty at night. "
Susan frowned.
" How about making the Queen a little good?" Susan whispered, laughing.
To everyone's surprise, the lunch took place in a pleasant atmosphere. King Luna initially approached Lucy and apologized for his son's behavior. And Prince Corin just sat quietly, looking once at Ramon, then at Lucy, and finally at Edmund.
Susan forgot her troubles and had a very good time with King Lune. Even Lucy seemed relaxed.
" Oh, sir, it is a great honor for you to come. I remember again the first years of our government, when you visited us almost every week, "said Peter.
" Yes, those were the times. We all like to remember that. But now you are esteemed rulers of the world, "Luna smiled.
" Will you stay too? You only came shortly before lunch, "Susan asked politely.
" No, we can't stay long. This disobedient prince is limited to leaving the kingdom for one afternoon only. "
There was a heavy silence in the room.
" So, thank you for bringing us in, but we'll have to go. The hour is over. If we want to be in the dark at least beyond Arkier's, we should go, "Luna said, standing up slowly. The kings and the queens of Narnia also stood up.
" Corin," Lune said hard to his son. Corin rose awkwardly from his chair.
" Edmund, what would you say if we went to escort our friend at least a little bit?" I was asked to ride a horse, "Peter said.
" It's a great idea. What do you say, sir, can we at least accompany you a little bit? "He turned to the king of the neighboring kingdom.
" It will be my pleasure," the king smiled. Then they greeted the queens and walked away.
" I'm going to the garden. Will you join in? "Lucy asked her sister. Susan shook her head.
" Thank you, but no. Relax alone," she said, and something stinged inside her.
It was nice in her room. The soft light of the setting sun filled the room. The big duvet greeted and pulled the queen to lay her head down.
Today they had a day off, so she decided to go to her room soon. She enjoyed the bath, walking around the room in a fluffy bathrobe, reading books. She left everything they agreed with Sarah on to her.
Somehow she didn't care.
She was at the funeral. But she was not in Narnia, she was back in England. The wet weather matched the mood that prevailed around her. She wondered who died. Because the coffin was not ordinary. It was small and white. The pit in which they had to place the coffin was also small.
But when she wanted to step forward, she felt something holding her. She looked down, but saw nothing. No shackles to hold her in place. She tried again, but this time something else stopped her.
A lion jumped through a small coffin.
Aslan , she sighed. He ignored her and ran nearby. She turned on her heel. Behind her was another coffin. This was already normal.
What was strange, though, was that a large lion marched in embarrassment between two chests. Suddenly she noticed tears streaming down his face. Then he turned his gaze to Susan.
What did you do? he exclaimed unhappily. Only then did she notice that her little sister was lying in a large coffin.
" No," she breathed. In an instant, she jumped out of bed and ran across the dark castle. Her bare feet stroked the rock. Her lungs stung. She felt that with each step the east wing was farther away.
She ran to the stairs that led to Lucy's wing. Suddenly Susan found the stairway endless.
" Come on! Get up! "She growled. She took a breath and began to stumble up the stairs. She didn't come here often, and the torches and candles were already burned out. She saw almost nothing. Even the stars did not shine today or the moon.
She had seen them before, she could see that they were still lit up outside the door. Susan added and ran to the door.
She shut them apart the moment Lucy placed an empty cup on the table.
" No," she whispered in horror and slumped to the ground. Lucy ran to her.
" What happened? Susan, are you okay? "
" I am, but you Lucy! That water was poisoned! "She began to cry.
" what?"
" Yes. It was supposed to be an innocent joke, I was jealous, but I dreamed that ... that you were dead. Aslan accused me. And rightly so! "
Lucy pulled away from her.
" Did you poison me?" Lucy asked in a whisper. Susan nodded.
" What, ... why?" Lucy backed away until she hit a chair that overturned. "What were you dreaming about?"
" At first there was a tiny coffin. And then a big coffin. And Aslan accused me. "
Lucy took a breath and tried to calm her heart. Don't get too stressed. She has to get to the carafe.
Lucy was breathing deeply.
" Call Lasalene. Quick, "she said, placing a hand on her stomach.
No, no, I can't lose her. I have to save her.
Susan stood up and ran out of the room. Lasalene had her room nearby. While she was gone, Lucy walked slowly to the bed and sat on it.
Come on, Susan, where are you sticking to? She sighed. She hadn't felt any effects of the poison yet, but she was afraid. She was terribly afraid. Not about herself, about her daughter.
Aslan, please help, the carafe probably won't help me here. Please save her!
Lucy started to cry.
" Aslan, please save her! Please! Don't take it from me, "she whispered through her tears.
"Your Highness," Lasalene heard. "What happened?"
" Carafe, Lasalene, I need a carafe," she said urgently. Lasalene nodded and ran to take her carafe. Then she came to Lucy and unscrewed her.
" Have more, Lucy, not just one drop," Susan told her. Lucy looked at her.
" Just one drop. If she doesn't save me, another one won't save me, "she said firmly, letting the maid drip into her mouth.
The moment she swallowed the sweet liquid, pain swept through her body. She had to grit her teeth to keep from screaming.
" Lucy!" Susan called. But Lucy was just clenching her teeth and crying heavily.
Aslan, please don't take it from me. Help me. Aslan!
