Rose went to rehearsal the next day a little late. She hardly slept and she wanted to avoid any awkwardness with Giovanni. She thought walking into the studio and carrying on like normal would be the best option. She wasn't upset or angry with what he said, she was upset with herself for running.

For a while now, Rose had hoped he saw her in that way, she'd been wanting him to say something like that to her. And when he finally did her nerves got the better of her. She wanted to avoid any awkwardness and carry on as normal, but she didn't want to ignore what Giovanni had said to her, those words meant something to Rose.

Just how she'd planned, Giovanni was already in the studio when she arrived. He was in the furthest corner, digging through is bag. Giovanni had his earphones in so he didn't hear her come in. Usually if he was in the studio before her she would walk up behind him and scare him, but she took herself to the other corner of the room.

Rose took a few minutes to prepare herself, taking a couple of things out of her bag and distracting herself on her phone. She knew at some point they'd have to talk, they couldn't have their entire rehearsal without talking.

She decided to start warming up, and turned around to go to the middle of the room. Giovanni was already there, jogging on the spot, and he must have seen her turn around in the mirror because he turned his head to the side.

Giovanni knew he took a risk last night, and that was okay. He hoped more than anything this wouldn't ruin the friendship between them. Rose meant too much to him to lose her in his life altogether. But he just thought she felt the same. Giovanni could read her so well, and she could him, that he was so certain his feelings would be reciprocated. Rose had been more affectionate towards him lately, but perhaps he was just reading into things that weren't there. This was his mistake, and Giovanni was okay with that, he just wanted to move forward.

Rose joined him jogging but kept a distance behind. She kept glancing at him and hoping he would say the first words. She was still too nervous.

It had been a few minutes and neither of them said a word. Rose slowly stopped jogging, she stood there staring at him playing with her hands. He again must have seen her in the mirror and he stopped warming up.

Giovanni ran a hand through his hair and turned to face her. He looked exhausted and sad, Rose thought he probably hadn't slept much either. "Rose, let's just forget what I said last night. I shouldn't have sprung all that on you. I'm really sorry."

Giovanni held her gaze, his eyebrows creased together. Just like last night, neither of them wanted to break the moment.

Before she could change her mind she took a few steps forward, grabbing the sides of his face and pulling him down a little. She kissed him softly and quickly pulling back but keeping her nose touching his. Giovanni couldn't move, he felt frozen in place. This was the last thing he expected to happen and out of shock he couldn't find his words. He didn't move, didn't speak, didn't react in anyway, he didn't kiss her back and regret started to come over her. Rose pulled her face back from his and the look of pure panic she had snapped him out of his daze. She started to take a step back but when his hands touched her waist she was pulled back in, wrapping her arms around his neck as he pulled her closer.

When they broke apart Rose kept their foreheads pressed together.

"Last night, I got nervous and I panicked." Rose moved her hands down his chest and leant backwards. "I have wanted to hear you say something like that for a while. When you did, I didn't expect it, and I got nervous. I didn't mean to hurt you or upset you."

"You didn't hurt me, it's okay," he leant forward and gently kissed her cheek. "I meant it, every single word, I meant it."

"I know. And I feel the same, Giovanni. I don't want to stop it either." Rose leant back forward and kissed him again, a little longer this time. He brought one hand up to the side of her face and moved it back into her hair. Rose let him deepen their kiss for a second before he pulled back smiling at her.

Giovanni just looked at her for a second, tracing his thumb over her cheek and watching her smile grow. Rose's eyes fluttered closed and he pressed a lingering kiss onto her forehead. Giovanni was certain he'd never felt so happy.

"Come here," he said when she opened her eyes. Giovanni wrapped his arms around her and Rose tucked her head under his chin. He put a hand on the back of her head and kissed the top of her head sweetly. Rose held him tighter and sighed contently.
