Start of Act 2
It had been a month since the Darkest Day. What were the boys up to now?
Goh's POV:
Ash and Goh had just received word that Mew had been spotted nearby. Goh had wanted to catch Mew his entire life, he couldn't wait! Professor Cerise gave them tickets for a ferry, and they went on their way to the island where Mew had been spotted. "Mew is somewhere on this island!" Goh said, when they finally arrived at their destination. They searched around the island, finding themselves on top of a mountain. "Where should we start?" Ash asked. "Ta-daah!" Goh said, pulling out a piece of equipment. "We're close enough that my special sensor can pick up Mew's psychic energy. Huh? Nothing detected yet..." Goh said. "Then let's just look wherever!" Ash said, as they spent the next few hours running around the island. During their misadventures, Goh managed to catch a Mankey and a Krabby. If he somehow failed in catching Mew, he would surely cheer himself up by embarrassing Ash! They kept searching, until they eventually found themselves falling down a waterfall, into the water. They awoke to find themselves in some secret, hidden place within the island. They wandered around, finding a strange looking, gigantic tree. As they were staring at it, a mysterious Pokemon came floating down from above it. "Why have you come here?" It asked them. It could speak? Goh was amazed. Not the first time he had encountered a talking Pokemon, but it was still a strange thing to witness. "It talks..?!" Goh asked. "Mewtwo" Ash said. "Mew...two?" Goh asked. Whatever this Pokemon was, Ash seemed to know it, and it's name was Mewtwo. "Not Mew, but Mewtwo... It is bigger than Mew, I guess" Goh said, realizing that Mewtwo was the Pokemon that had been spotted, not Mew. "You seek Mew?" Mewtwo asked him. "To what end?". "I'll catch it!" Goh told the Pokemon. "Catching every Pokemon to reach Mew is my dream!" He said. "How will catching every Pokemon mean reaching Mew?" It asked. "To catch a Pokemon is to understand it, that's what I believe. I want to catch all sorts of Pokemon, and learn more about Pokemon! If I understand every Pokemon, I can reach Mew, who holds the genes of every Pokemon!" Goh said, then looked at Mewtwo. "Mewtwo... You're a Pokemon, right? Which means... I can catch you in a Pokeball, right?" Goh said. "Catch Mewtwo?!" Ash said, shocked. "I want to learn more about you! So... I'll catch you!" Goh told the Pokemon. "I am strong. I was created to be the world's strongest Pokemon" Mewtwo said. "Mewtwo! I want to battle you!" Ash said, always looking for a fight. "As you wish. Put those 'dreams' of yours on the line and face me!" Mewtwo said, and the boys engaged it in a battle. Ash sent out his Pikachu, as Goh sent out his Cinderace. They managed to put up a decent fight, but Mewtwo was stronger than them in every aspect. Eventually, Ash had to switch out his Pikachu for Lucario. Lucario and Cinderace did their best against Mewtwo, and put up an incredible fight. Despite losing, in the end, they were amazing, and put up a great fight. After the battle, Mewtwo made the two white out, and teleported them to the Cerise Lab, leaving them with these final words. "Your journey... has only just begun".
When they awoke, it had turned to night time, and they were outside the lab. "Did Mewtwo bring us here?" Ash asked. "I hope we'll see it again" Ash said, looking up at the night's sky. "Of course we will! After all, the future lies in my hands!" Goh said, putting his arm in front of him. "Our hands, right?" Ash said, putting his arm on top of Goh's. Goh just stared at Ash, invisible hearts in his eyes. Then, they heard Chloe's Yamper bark at them. "Goh? Ash?" Chloe asked. "Chloe!" Goh said. "We're back!" Ash told her. "Welcome back!" Chloe told them. "How was it, did you get to see Mew?" Professor Cerise asked the boys, as the two looked at each other, and smiled.
