Chapter 23
"I've lost my key, sorry." The Doctor rested her hands against the sides of the Tardis. Everything was so perfect. She had her best friend back again. She had her family. Well, she didn't. Greyn was dead. He hadn't been found after the Cybermen on the colony ship.
The door clicked open.
"But it's an old police box." Graham stated
"Sort of? Not really."
"You expect us all to fit in there?"
"Yep!"
"At the same time?"
"Want to try?"
"Oh, word of warning, I left it a bit of a mess."
The gold light cloaked the Tardis as the Doctor stepped inside. It was almost like music was playing.
Wait, why was music playing? It was some bouncy 80's song. The music was loud and jarring, and the lyrics were also being belted (badly) by a young Rick Astley impersonator. The music suddenly stopped, and something clattered to the ground. "Aw, shucks!"
The voice shook the Doctor out of her trance. The Ghost Monument had been fading in and out of existence, so how had someone gotten inside? And who would the Tardis let inside? Greyn? No, Greyn was dead.
"Hello? Someone there?" The Doctor hesitantly stepped around the new console.
There was a yelp and something dropped from the crystal structure. The thing was a person. The Doctor put out a hand to help her up.
"You've redecorated?"
"You can talk, mom."
"I'm not going to get used to that." The Doctor pulled her daughter into a hug. "I thought you were dead."
"I'm sorry."
The Doctor suddenly let go of Greyn, turning back to her friends. "This is our Tardis."
"Our?" asked Graham.
"Oh! This is Greyn, my daughter." Greyn waved to Graham
"I-i'm not even going to process that." Yaz stuttered.
Greyn laughed. "I guess I get that a lot."
"So how do you fit all this stuff in a police box?" Graham breathed.
"Dimensional engineering." the Doctor said in praise, looking over the console.
"You can't engineer dimensions." Yaz questioned.
"Maybe you can't." Greyn smiled proudly.
"Can i press any of-" Ryan gestured to the console
"No." The Doctor waved him away.
"It's a space ship?" Graham uttered in disbelief
"And a time ship." The Doctor added.
"Get out!" Ryan exclaimed.
"No kidding." Greyn nodded.
"This is proper… awesome."
"I thought you didn't believe I'd get you home."
"I thought you didn't believe yourself for a second there." yaz stated.
"Who, me? Never doubted. Don't know what you mean. Home then?"
"You can get us there? Really?"
"Probably not on the first try!" Greyn jumped to the console, spinning knobs and pressing buttons in sync with her mother, and the Ghost Monument faded away.
