Isla Sorna, East Docks: Workers bustled about as Daniela St. Ives led the Site B team on their tour.

"And in addition to Sorna's single tugboat we managed to bring our two tugboats from Indigo making it a total of three," the former Head of Indigo pointed out as they reached the docks and saw the three craft moored out there.

"Just how seaworthy are they?" asked Jake a little surprised to see them all docked. Daniela laughed.

"They'll do fine in the harbor but any further and it'll be rough. That's why we towed them here with the SS Venture. Nublar's only tug sank when Tropical Storm Bianca blew through. But considering the other damage that was done to that place, I'd say that was the least of their worries," she continued in reference to the storm that struck Nublar when the Jurassic Park incident. Some time earlier there had been concerns over another tropical storm called Avila hitting Nublar. But instead it had swung south and slammed into Sorna.

Tropical storms and just storms in general were a fact of life when it came to these islands, especially during the summer months. While everyone took bets on almost anything on Sorna, nobody wagered on whether a coming storm might potentially hit their island. They were instead just thankful they hadn't had a hurricane yet. And so nobody had bothered to look up the name of the next storm, only that when it appeared it would start with the letter "C"...

"Nuts," said Jake feigning disappointment as he took a sip from his Styrofoam cup. "I was hoping I'd found a way off this island and leave all you suckers behind."

That got a small laugh out of the group.

"Believe me Jake, I'd search night and day to find a way of getting rid of you for good," Daniela teased. "But anyway, that just about covers it. When this place isn't staffed, the electrified fences will be turned on but the floodlights will not. That's so we don't draw any unwanted attention."

Whether she meant from the island itself or the outside waters, nobody knew for sure or wanted to find out.

"So how many supplies are you keeping here in the warehouses?" asked Sheila speaking up from the back. "This is still the largest storage space on the island."

The others nodded their head that that was a good question.

"Sam wants a close eye kept on the supplies for rationing purposes so quite a bit of it will remain here under lock and key. At the beginning of each week we will transfer the island's allotment for the week to the inland warehouses where it will be distributed to the rest of the island," the former Head of Indigo informed the group.

"Sure gives you a lot of power," Jake muttered under his breath as Henry nodded his head in agreement.

"These are desperate times," Daniela forced them to recognize with a light lifting of her arms. "We don't know how things will go down in sixty-six days, but in some ways we have to assume the worst." She also pointed out unapologetically. "Since my team has been largely independent of yours, it lets us be more neutral in regards to how everyone else should be treated. And that's what we all need right now. Calm clear heads."

The words of Samantha Brown echoed back at them and forced the group to temporarily set aside their reservations about what was going on. In sixty-six days, maybe they'd feel differently, they didn't know. Just the thought of the fences failing was a scenario too scary to contemplate and they didn't know for sure how they'd react if that day actually came.

HONK! HONK! HONK!

The truck that was finally ready to go to the Fortress had its driver sound the horn letting the group know.

"Well, have fun you all," said Daniela putting on a cheery smile, whether genuine or because she was finally glad to no longer be interrogated by the group, no one was sure. "Lori, I'd like to have your supply inventory of that place when you're done with it."

"Okay," said LoRu noncommittally as she boarded the vehicle with the others as each said their goodbyes to Daniela. "I still wish I knew where the final member of our party was." She admitted to what was on her mind after the group had boarded and the doors closed and the vehicle trundled off to the main dock gates…

But before anyone could answer, the vehicle came to a screeching halt. The group looked at each other confused before the side door popped open and everyone's jaw dropped at what they saw.

Nicolette Stefrassa-who looked very unkempt like she'd been through hell-boarded the vehicle looking completely out of breath and took a seat without a word. The others had never seen her look anything other than pristine without a stray hair and so they were all extremely shocked. And with the new arrival choosing to ignore them and not offer up any explanation for her appearance, each couldn't help but wonder what sort of dire situation was going on they didn't know about to make her this way.

The vehicle for its part continued its way towards the mountains and the Fortress.

San Diego, California: John Brown was locked in his office working feverishly on the recovered DNA strands once more as the rest of the team mulled about in the main area. Jeff Thomas, Chip, and Lorne Tenners were compiling their reports on the Nublar operation. Serena Farrelly had the recovered shaving cream can and was examining it top to bottom. Cassandra Matula for her part was going through her dump of Dennis Nedry's hard drive trying to find a direct connection between him and Biosyn.

Pausing briefly, Cassandra steepled her hands in front of her face as she contemplating her last moments on Nublar trying to figure out what Ed James had been up to. Something about the coding and the name of the executable file reminded her of something in the back of her mind but she couldn't fully remember it. She had certainly never met Dennis Nedry before and knew little to nothing besides the psyche profile Lorne had whipped up.

What was preventing her from working to her very best was her thoughts and concerns for her sister, Sheila. It wasn't just that she'd found out her sister was living on an island with creatures that hadn't walked the earth in more than 65 million years and probably would like nothing more than to tear her and her coworkers apart. No, it was the fact that Cassie had betrayed her trust. She needed information for her mission to be successful and not all of it was just on Nedry. She had meant well, but her sister would probably never see it that way. That Jake Whitacre and Henry Wu had given her the benefit of the doubt and pass along her message to Sheila was the only positive note out of that whole trip. Clearly the two hadn't said anything to the higher ups about the Pacific Pharmaceuticals team being on Isla Nublar because John would've been furious if that was the case. But what the two scientists would do with the knowledge of the team's existence was an answer she didn't have.

It was these lack of answers that terrified her the most. What was Biosyn up to, what would Jake and Henry Wu do next, what was that strange reference to E.L.E., what did Samantha Brown do through that lobby terminal to Isla Sorna, what was her boss hiding, and why did she think there was something more going on than her team or anyone else was fully aware of.

The signs were there that things were going to go south very badly and very soon for InGen and Site B. And there would be repercussions that would be far reaching to even Pacific Pharmaceuticals and Biosyn. So what Cassie had told Jeff was true: she wasn't going to be left in the dark about why they had really gone to Sorna. And she was going to do everything in her power to keep her sister safe and get her off that island before everything boiled over. And so she dove back into her work fully focused on finding those answers.

Isla Sorna's Worker Village: Roberta Carter, Jack Thorne, Richard Levine, and Martin Gutierrez were sitting at a table just outside of the garage waiting for the next ride out to the docks.

"We'll miss you, Marty," Levine confessed truthfully. Thorne also nodded his head, partly because he didn't want to be left alone with Levine and his desperate attempts to harass Bobbie or Lori to let him see things he probably shouldn't see. At least Bobbie seemed to be less inclined to politely put up with the millionaire.

"I'd like to stay, I really would, but I can't miss the opportunity to go with Geri Harding and his Dinosaur Recovery Team as they circumnavigate the island and check out the perimeter fences that prevent access to the ocean," Gutierrez pointed out. "No offense," he told Bobbie, "but how well the fences in the interior of the island don't concern me as much as making sure nothing gets off the island. If the dinosaurs get dug in on the mainland then it's all over for the human race," he concluded gravely while absently tapping the table with his pencil to try and not focus on that last statement.

"Well, my concerns are more for the internal fences keeping the dinosaurs away from the workers, but I won't hold it against you for feeling differently," the doctor responded while drinking from her coffee thermos.

"Well, you'll still be missing one hell of a show not seeing these creatures in the interior," Levine answered lightly as he rested his head on his hand and looked over at a group of workers in front of the lodge. Their leader was the island's chef, Alejandro something-or-other, which is why Levine suspected they were the team going out into the island looking for crops and other sustainable foods. The Becky Doll owner secretly wondered if maybe they might turn desperate in the coming weeks and actually hunt down some of the dinosaurs for food. Not that he had any desire to see how one tasted. Caviar was gross enough.

Across the way, the Food Exploration Team were all checking their gear and supplies to make sure they had everything they needed, with one notable exception. Collin Maken was making sure Katrice's bags were full of things she would actually need and not things she wanted to bring. But to his mild surprise, she had actually been thoughtful in her choices. There were some frivolous things like her Gameboy and Game Gear and others but nothing for him to be concerned that she shouldn't be taking with her.

Clearly Katrice was focused on doing her part to help out more on the island which is why Collin had been touched that his little sister had volunteered to go out with the food hunting teams. With one of the best senses of smell and taste, she thought she would be a great asset to the group.

"And don't forget extra sunblock," Collin reminded her as he put an extra bottle in her bag. Katrice was wearing a short sleeved shirt underneath overall shorts and so she was exposing quite a bit of skin. She'd already gotten a couple of catcalls and whistles from passerbys much to Collin's annoyance-which is probably why they'd been done in the first place.

"Sounds good to me," Katrice agreed as she briefly put on her oversized plastic novelty sunglasses before taking them off and sliding on her reflective aviator sunglasses that had been a birthday gift from Jennifer.

"Just be safe out there, okay?" Collin pleaded as he zipped up her bag after secretly sliding in some extra batteries for her portable game consoles.

"I will," Katrice said with a smile as her brother stood up and faced her.

"Because this isn't a game, it's dangerous out there," he warned. "Don't split up from the rest of the group, be sure you're following Alejandro's directions, and don't drive everyone crazy."

Katrice gave a mocking salute as Collin lightly shook his head at her antics.

"Anything else I'm forgetting to mention?" he asked largely to himself as the group's ride pulled up with a special refrigerated trailer to carry anything they would want to bring back.

"I love you," said Katrice sweetly as she picked up her bags.

"And I-," began Collin distracted before realizing what she'd said. He chuckled briefly to himself before hugging his sister.

"I love you too, you nut," he told her lightly. "Go and have fun."

Katrice skipped briefly towards the vehicle before having her bags loaded into the trunk and then getting in the cabin with the others. After a few moments the SUV roared off out of the village and was gone from sight leaving Collin by himself.

"They grow up fast don't they?" asked a voice causing the scientist to briefly jump as he saw Sam Stone emerging from the lodge with Daniela St. Ives who had just returned to the village from the docks.

"She's definitely maturing…I think," said Collin jokingly. "Have anything fun on the agenda today?" he asked, trying to get his thoughts off of his sister.

Sam shrugged. "We've got to go run an errand into the interior but we should be back by mid-afternoon."

Collin noticed Daniela didn't appear very enthusiastic by this errand, whatever it was, but the young scientist just wrote that off as administrative stuff he'd never understand and was glad he didn't have to deal with it. And so he excused himself saying that he had to be off to Embryonics Administration and his work on the new species being cloned and brought to viability.

The heads of Indigo and Sorna walked over to the garage where they waved briefly to Roberta whose group had been joined by Gerry Harding and the DRT team while their ride to the docks was nearby being prepped for departure. The group would head out to the docks where they would split ways as Gerry and his team would begin their assessment of the fences while Bobbie and her team headed into the interior to continue their inspection.

The duo then walked down the ramp into the garage where Hugh met them.

"Bosses," he acknowledged with a tilt of his head, a little nervous to be in front of both of them on his home turf.

"How goes your efforts into trying to reduce your power consumption?" asked Sam curious and having no time to mince words as they continued walking towards the vehicle reserved specifically for the head of the island.

"Still a work in progress," Hugh had to admit reluctantly. "The carpools and the Jurassic Park tour vehicles are definitely helping but even once the track is fully laid out, there are still plenty of places off the beaten path that we'll still need access to. I should hopefully have a better idea on fuel consumption ratios by that time plus other energy saving measures." Half the lights in the underground garage had been turned off as a measure already.

Sam nodded his head as they walked past a row of parked Jurassic Park gas-powered Jeeps that had been taken from Nublar and deposited here.

"How are you on parts?" Daniela inquired, wanting to sound useful while wishing she was back with her workers.

"Managing," Hugh shrugged. "We're being more careful with how we treat the vehicles and any damaged and worn parts are sent to the machine shop to see what can be done with them. The good news is that the new jeeps from Nublar are all pretty much in pristine condition and shouldn't be breaking down anytime soon. We're stripping the jeep that Nedry crashed in for parts and are still deciding what to do about the other jeep that was damaged during the Jurassic Park Incident."

Daniela turned a little green as she remembered that while the jeep found near the East Docks was relatively intact, the insides were another story.

"Well, keep it up and keep submitting regular reports on your progress," said Sam as they reached his vehicle; a stock Ford Falcon similar to Jake's except his was somewhere else in the bay where he was modifying it in his spare time.

The two leaders got in as Sam turned his key in the ignition and the vehicle roared to life. Throwing the stick in gear, he then moved the car out of the garage, passing Jennifer who watched them out of the corner of her eye before returning her attention to the engine block she was helping replace.

Later, Mount Watson, Isla Sorna: The vehicle carrying the senior staff members and supplies for the Fortress stopped at the road to ascend to the summit where an electrified fence and twin locking security doors awaited them.

"We'll just be a-," began the worker in the front passenger seat when Jake laid his hand on his shoulder.

"I'll take care of it," he offered and hopped out of the vehicle.

"That was nice of him to do," Sheila remarked as she was stopped playing around with her portable terminal.

"It's not entirely a selfless act," Henry informed her as he glanced back at the female programmer. "You need a security card to open those particular gates. By using his, Jake is sending a message to Laura Sorkin that we're coming. Assuming she's not so involved with her work she doesn't notice. But David Banks probably will."

Jake popped the front locking mechanism and pulled the doors open before opening the inner doors whose lock had automatically shut off when the outer doors were unlocked. He then made a bowing motion while waving in the vehicle which started up and rolled through at which point Jake started closing and relocking the doors.

"Quick, take off and leave him behind," LoRu whispered to the driver who snorted at the suggestion. He then hit the accelerator and the vehicle briefly leapt forward and stopped as Jake immediately bolted for it and quickly got in before glaring at Lori who whistled innocently to herself and looked out the window.

"But why is this place so remote and has such extensive security measures?" Sheila asked. Despite working for InGen for a couple of years, she was still very much the baby of the island's upper staff with the exception of the newly arrived Stephanie Sandelder. As such, there was a lot she still didn't know about the place.

"Originally, it housed the labs where we were analyzing the DNA strands when we first moved to Site B," Henry began remembering the early days. "It needed to be isolated from the rest of the island in case Biosyn or some other organization tried to steal our secrets by force. Plus it needed quite a bit of power and Hammond was really pushing for the whole geothermal power idea back then and building the place on the side of a semi-active volcano seemed to the best for our needs."

"But as time we went on, we got more of the infrastructure built on the island and the Fortress's location became more and more of an issue so we left. There's still a bunch of old genetic sequencing equipment up there and some mainframes along with a lone Cray that's not even on the network. Plus other odds and ends we either couldn't take at the time or didn't' need."

Sheila looked at her list Tim had given her of the technical equipment that should still be in the Fortress.

"So then what is this Dr. Sorkin doing up there then if it's so isolated and the equipment is outdated?" the young programmer had to ask next. An uncomfortable silence fell over the vehicle upon hearing that question.

"Laura is up there for two reasons," Jake began. "For starters she enjoys the privacy to work on her own."

"Her primary interests lie in theoretical and experimental work on the DNA strands," Henry chimed in as they began to all be pushed back in their seats as the vehicle began driving up the steeply angled dirt road to the top of the mountain.

"The second reason is that she's not entirely just there because she wants to be," Jake continued uneasily. "She's there because it was originally a forced exile that has since become self-imposed after the original period ended."

That statement stunned Sheila who could only stare at the two scientists. Sure every worker sometimes had issues with their coworkers but by and large everyone got along with each other. To hear that a scientist had been intentionally isolated from the rest of the group almost sounded like a hoax. But Jake and Henry had deadly serious looks on their faces.

'What-what did she do?" Sheila stammered, a little afraid. Henry sighed as he wished he didn't have to relive the dark day Jake and he had conclusively proven what up to that point they had only suspected about the female scientist's actions. That and both couldn't shake the fact that what had happened was eerily similar to what they were dealing with now in regards to the strange issues with the dinosaurs.

"Laura broke one of the core scientific tenants that we do not violate under any circumstances," said Jake a little emotionally. "She tried to secretly and permanently eliminate the lysine contingency in the dinosaur revivification project."
