This takes place after chapter 19 of 'Battle of Fear and Trust' but you don't have to read that story to understand this.

Disclaimer: Narnia and all of its characters belong to C.S. Lewis.

Lucy sits on her oldest brothers' bed, resting her head on Peter's right shoulder. She swallows down a sob and takes a few uneven breaths as she lets tears flow down her cheeks.

Peter's arm was gently wrapped around Lucy, occasionally rubbing her shoulder. Keeping her close to chase away her tears. All the While his long face looks at his door, hoping to hear footsteps that didn't belong to their parents.

Edmund sat on the other side of Lucy, his head is down, and he stares at his hands. His face is red from standing in the cold and the tears he cried when he watched her walk away.

The three of them sat in silence, as they felt their hearts sink deep into their chests. This made Peter feel helpless, made Edmund physically Ill, and it made Lucy feel drained. None of them wanted it to be true, they didn't want her to go, she belonged with them.

"When do you think she'll be back?" Lucy asks when she gets a hold of her tears.

"I don't know Lu, those parties can last for hours," Peter says

"And if they're as wonderful as she says, she'll want to stay as long as she can. We might not see her again tonight." Edmund adds, Lucy, lowers her eyes.

"Do you…think she really met it," Lucy says, more tears pouring onto Peter's sleeve.

"She's hurting, Lu…We all are" Peter says softly, and pulls Lucy closer.

Once again, the room was silent. All of them wonder why Susan doesn't understand that they too were told they couldn't go back. That it was just as painful for them to never step foot on their beloved country, to feel the sweet Narnian air on their skin. To know that their true home was another world away, is it not the time to rely on each other? Is it not the time to trust that Aslan is there with them?

"I wish she would see it that way…she's been so different since she got back from America," Edmund tells them.

Susan has been distant since she got back. She barely talks to them anymore, at least she won't have open conversations with them. Even when they were away at school, she didn't write one letter to her brothers this last term, when before she'd write one to each of them every other week. As for Lucy, will she hasn't spoken to her at school except when they went home.

Lucy would also note that they weren't the only ones Susan neglected, their parents have also noticed her keeping her distance from them. Susan's friends at school, who use to be like sisters to her, have been pushed away to make room for her mature friends (as she's called them) who only care about the latest gossip or latest trends. It appears she has isolated herself into her own mind, keeping out anything she use to hold dear, even sweet Narnia.

"But she can't just forget it, it's our home, were her home. Why doesn't she come to us or Aslan?" Lucy cries. Edmund scoots closer to Lucy and puts his arm across Peter's and onto her right shoulder.

"I don't Know, Lu," he tells her, resting his head on hers.

No longer would they have Susan's gentle voice to ease their sorrows. No longer will she be there with a kind smile and soft touch. She will not be there to make sure they were taking care of themselves, nor will she advise them in their time of need. Worst of all she won't be there to share in the memories of Narnia.

"She will come back to us, won't she? Will she ever come back to Aslan?" Lucy asks as she looks between her brothers.

"Perhaps one day she will, Maybe," Peter tells her.

The three of them grow silent and mourn the loss of their Gentle Queen. They pray to Aslan she will one day come back to them and share her loving smile once again. Even though she isolates her love from them. They will always show her their love for her. Just as Aslan will show his love to all of them.

The Three siblings may have suffered a great loss. But anything that has been lost, can be found again.
