Hello, everyone. WaterDragonMaverick here with the next chapter of my Owl House story, "Palisman Café". Last time, Luz worked for the Bat Queen and earned a favor from the café's main investor. But while she was doing that, Eda ended up realizing that her health isn't as good as she's letting on. How will this affect things for Luz? We'll find out eventually.

Right now, we'll be changing things up by focusing on the café and Luz's friends. Because of it, we'll be getting some things that I wanted to add for a while. You'll see what happens in this new chapter, "Adventures in Customer Service".

The Owl House is owned by Disney and was created by Dana Terrace

Luz happily sang a song to herself as she did her morning chores for the café. While taking care of the animals and handling the garbage, Luz soon saw something strange. Despite Hexside's summer classes happening around this time, she saw a pretty big crowd of students approaching the café. "Luz, what's going on," Eda asked as she popped her head out of the doorway with Owlbert on her shoulder, King by her feet, and Hooty resting on the opened door itself.

"Eda, is there something going on at Hexside? I see a lot of students coming this way," the young employee replied.

"Is Hexside finally on fire!? Let's go get front row seats," Eda said like an excited teenager.

"EDA! You just got me into the school," Luz exclaimed, not amused by her boss.

"I'm joking," Eda said. "But it is strange to see this many kids out before lunch. From my experience, something happened because of a prank and school got canceled for the day."

"You're half-right," Willow answered as she and Gus walked up to the café. "Boscha brought her homework in for the Concoction Track, but she ended up dropping it because the glass was slippery. Turned out it was a mixture to attract insects for studies and pest control, but it ended up working too well."

"There are all kinds of bugs in the school now," Gus summarized. "Classes have been canceled for the day and Principal Bump had to call in like three different exterminators to start dealing with things."

"So, here we are now," Willow said with a smile.

"Excellent! More servants to give the King of Demons the attention he deserves," King declared as he saw the approaching group.

"Oh hey, there's that café your brother and sister were talking about, Amity," said Skara as she turned to look at the youngest Blight sibling. "Wait, is that... Hi, Luz," the Music Track student exclaimed as she recognized the Latina.

Waving to the other teenagers, Luz had a smile on her face before Eda took a headcount. "Oh, boy... There's way too many for just me and Luz to handle."

"Then just get more workers," King said as he scratched his ear with his hind leg. "Some of them already stop by frequently anyway."

After hearing King's suggestion, Eda was about to argue before thinking it over. "Not a bad idea, Mister Wiggles," she said to the dog with a grin.

"I thought we stopped with that already," King complained while Owlbert flew back inside and grabbed a few aprons with the café's logo on them. At the same time, Hooty flew over to the group and grabbed at Amity's cowl, dragging her over to Palisman faster and confusing the Hexside students.

When Amity was released, Owlbert dropped three aprons on her, Gus, and Willow. "Congratulations! The three of you are hired. Luz will show you how everything goes," Eda said while she and the owls went inside.

Processing everything that happened, Luz beamed at the idea of working alongside her friends while Willow turned away from Amity. "This is going to be so great! Me and my friends all spending time together as we work in the café," Luz said as she initiated a group hug. Unbeknownst to everyone else, Amity's cheeks flushed a bit until Luz released the three. "Come on, I have to explain everything while the others still get inside," she said before shoving all three inside, confusing the crowd as they got closer.

After all three newly-hired students made sure their aprons fit, Luz showed them how to work in the café. After the quick crash course, Eda had them run certain parts of the café. Amity was tasked with looking after the animals, Gus helped with making drinks, and Willow was running the cash register. With all the jobs given, the Hexside students began to pour into the café and Luz was quick to offer seats for groups. "Welcome to Palisman Café, everyone," Luz said as she greeted her future classmates.

"Hi, Luz. This is where you work? It looks really nice," Skara greeted as she and several other students from Hexside looked around the café.

"How did you find out about this place," Luz asked while showing the girl and some of her friends to a table.

"Well, Amity's brother and sister talked about this place in the halls lately, but we found these during your last visit," Skara said as she showed one of the Palisman Café's business cards.

Seeing the logo of the café, Luz realized that they must have fallen out of her bag when she helped Skara. "Why do I keep dropping those," Luz muttered to herself before shrugging and talking to the new customers. "Ah well, more business for Eda. So, do you want some menus or do you just want to play with the animals?"

As the girls wanted to take a look at the menus, Willow was tending to the bonsai tree that she first brought to the café before. "Maybe I should bring more," Willow said to herself. "It would spruce the place up."

"Yeah, right. This place already looks like someplace that should be torn down. Some puny plants won't do anything," said a girl's voice, prompting Willow to turn and see Boscha was the one who said it.

"Oh... it's you," Willow responded in a glum tone as one of the girls who constantly bully her had arrived.

"So, this is where Halfwit spends her time? I thought you would be cuddling trees in the forest with today off," Boscha said.

Willow said nothing as Boscha ridiculed her, but Eda went up to the pink-haired Concoction Track student and spoke to her. "Are you going to just stand there and insult my newest employee or are you going to buy something? Because there's a standing fee and an insulting fee," the café owner stated.

"Since when," Gus asked as he overheard Eda while bringing drinks to his old club members that chose to stop by.

"Since right now," Eda retorted.

Boscha only rolled her eyes and went to take a seat with Skara and the others after Luz left. "You girls seriously wanted to come here? Why not our clubhouse," she questioned.

"The rat problem. Remember," Willow's Botany Track classmate, Amelia reminded.

"Bugs, rats, birds. Ugh... What's with all these pests lately," Boscha said as an owl flew over her head and landed on one of the sofas, letting a student pet it.

"Well... it was your homework that caused the bugs to swarm Hexside," Luz said as she arrived with drinks for the table.

"Oh, shut it, amiga. Nobody asked you," Boscha declared before swiping one of the bubble teas and taking a sip. Immediately, she spat it out and looked at the drink. "Who orders honeydew!?"

Amelia sank in her seat and Skara flinched while Luz only growled quietly in annoyance. "Déjalo en una serpiente para escupir veneno," she muttered in Spanish.

"What was that," Boscha questioned as she managed to hear Luz.

"I think she called you a venom-spitting snake," said a Healing Track student with glasses named Cat.

"It's not untrue," King stated as he sat down next to the table, prompting the girls to look down at him. "Then again, a slimy snake that can melt faces off would be perfect for my army! The King of Demons commands it," he exclaimed.

Ignoring his whole 'King of Demons' act, Boscha was quick to pick up the dog and smile. "Aren't you just the cutest thing!? I've got the perfect filter for a selfie with you," she said as she started posing with her phone out.

"I've got a filter for you right here," King declared as he was about to bite down on Boscha's hand that was holding him.

Before teeth could meet skin, Eda was quick to grab King and ruin Boscha's picture. "Hey hey hey, not so fast, missy. Picture with the talking dog is $10. Pay up, then you can humiliate him," the older woman declared.

Boscha only glared at Eda and scoffed at her. "Whatever," she said before searching her pockets for her wallet, but was confused when she couldn't find it. While she frantically searched, Eda snickered to herself as she dropped the wallet she swiped from Boscha when grabbing King and had Owlbert discreetly take it upstairs.

"Sucker," Eda thought to herself as the pink-haired bully kept digging through her pockets. "Well, if you can't pay up, then you aren't welcome here," the Owl Lady said to Boscha.

Boscha only glared at the woman before she sat down, checking her phone and ignoring anything Eda said to her. "Girls, get me something that actually tastes better than that garbage fruit drink," she told the girls at the table.

As Luz gave the other drinks to the girls at the table, she went to give Amelia a replacement for what Boscha stole. "It's on the house after what happened," she told the girl.

"Thanks," Amelia replied before enjoying her drink and Luz gave Boscha a bottle of cola.

With everything settled and Skara giving King a kiss on the head before the dog scampered off, Luz went to check on Willow at the register. "You okay," the Latina asked her Korean best friend.

"Yeah," Willow responded sadly. "It's always been like this since Amity left me. She's been spending time with Boscha and her posse while I'm just treated like a bug for them to crush under their shoes."

"Hey, everything's fine. You're here with us," Luz declared, trying to cheer Willow up.

The Botany Track student smiled as she adjusted her glasses. "Thanks, Luz."

"No problem. I'm going to see how Amity's doing now," Luz told her friend. "I know you don't get along, but she's not bothering you now. This café's neutral ground."

"If you say so," Willow muttered as she propped her arms on the counter and watched Luz head off.

Heading into the animal room, Luz saw that Amity was doing pretty well at her new job. The Dominican girl couldn't help but chuckle at the number of cats surrounding Amity as she pet Otabin and watched over everything in the room. "Amity!"

"Hey, Luz," the Blight responded with a polite smile.

"How's everything going? I know that being asked to work here wasn't what you expected, but Eda and I didn't think we'd be so busy," Luz said.

Amity put the rabbit down and watched him hop away to a corner to rest before speaking to Luz more. "Honestly, it's not too bad. If I was going to apply for a job anywhere, it would be here or at the library," she said as she scratched the chin of a calico.

"Oh, speaking of the library, did you finish Good Witch Azura 5 yet," Luz asked.

"Actually, I did," Amity said as she went to her bag and gave Luz her book back.

"Sooo, how'd you like it," Luz asked with an eager smile.

Amity looked at the ground and only picked up a cat to pet while answering Luz. "It was... fine," she said.

Seeing a page strangely sticking out of the otherwise pristine novel, Luz saw it was a loose paper that was left as a bookmark. Pulling it out, she saw it was a piece of fanart depicting Amity and an androgynous character from the story, embracing each other and Amity saying 'This love is forbidden'. "So fine that you drew yourself with Malingale the Mysterious Soothsayer," Luz questioned in a half-teasing, half-genuine voice.

Blushing in embarrassment of her art being found, Amity slowly grabbed the paper from Luz, crumpled it into a ball, and dropped it for the cats to bat and chase around like yarn. "Can we... talk about something else," Amity asked, trying to hide her face from Luz by focusing on one of the owls on the couch.

"This is great! Maybe we could even have an Azura club together when we're classmates," Luz said as she focused on Amity's love of the new book.

Blinking as she heard what Luz said, Amity was confused. "When we're what," she asked.

"Surprise! I'm moving to Bonesborough," Luz explained. "Eda talked with Principal Bump a while ago and struck a deal with him. I'm enrolling at Hexside and my mom is going to get a job at the hospital."

Amity was surprised at all of the information Luz told her. "W-wow, okay. I, uh, wh- I wasn't expecting that," she said. "I thought you were just here for the summer."

"I told my mom about everything I've been up to since working here and she calls me when she can," Luz explained before her phone started to ring. "Huh, she must have some kind of magic if she's calling me after I started talking about her," the Latina remarked before answering.

Appearing on a video call, Camila Noceda waved to her daughter. "Hola, mija. How's work," she greeted.

"Hi, Mom. I was just talking about you to my friend," Luz replied.

"Which one? Willow or Gus," Camila inquired with a smile, still happy her daughter had real friends.

"A different one, actually," Luz replied with a smile as she brought Amity into view. "This is Amity," she introduced while Amity was surprised at being involved.

Waving politely to Camila, Amity greeted her. "Hello."

Seeing the girl, Camila smiled again. "Estoy muy contento de que estés haciendo más amigos, cariño," she said to her daughter, happy that she was expanding her new circle of friends.

"Me too, Mami. We didn't exactly get along as well as I did with Willow, but that changed when I met her brother and sister," Luz said.

"Come to think of it, I haven't seen them since we left home," Amity muttered to herself before the door swung open.

"Hi, Mittens," Edric and Emira chimed as they posed in front of the doorway.

"Edric! Emira! Close the door," Amity exclaimed as she marched to her older siblings and berated them for their behavior.

While the Blight Siblings began to get into a squabble, Luz spoke with her mom while both watched the siblings interact. "As I was saying, I was spending time with them after returning some library books for Eda and found out Amity not only reads to kids, but she's a fan of Azura like me," she explained.

"She certainly looks like the type because of her hair," Camila chuckled, knowing Amity's dyed hair was a similar shade of green to Luz's favorite character.

"I wonder if she wanted it that way for that reason," Luz wondered, being loud enough that Amity heard and flinched. "Something wrong," Luz asked, concerned about her friend.

"It's nothing," Amity responded, but the twins knew the real reason and wisely stayed quiet.

"Anyways, Amity's helping out at the café now with Gus and Willow," Luz explained to her mom. "Apparently the school is dealing with a bug problem today, so Eda needed extra help when a lot of students decided to come here."

Hearing Luz mention a bug problem and school in the same sentence, Camila raised an eyebrow at her daughter. "You didn't have anything to do with it like the last time, did you," she interrogated.

"Last time," the Blight Siblings all asked in curiosity.

Luz laughed nervously as she scratched the back of her head. "Mom, it's not like the spider issue earlier in the year. Besides, it's not my fault this time. That bully I told you about was making something for class and it ended up attracting a lot of bugs when it spilled on the floor."

"It's true," Amity said as she vouched for Luz. "Boscha ended up dropping her chemistry project and Hexside was closed for the day because of it."

"And thanks to her, we can spend the entire day messing with Mittens," Emira said as she squished her sister's cheeks.

Shoving Emira to the side, Amity glared at her siblings. "Will you stop calling me 'Mittens'!? You know I hate it when Mom calls me that," the youngest Blight told the twins.

"How about we call you 'Choco-Mint' instead," Edric suggested with a teasing grin. "After all, that's what your hair looks like. Not to mention that one time when you and Willow got into the ice cream when you were 5 and both of you were coated in so much mint chocolate chip that your hair turned green like ours."

Hearing the story, Luz and her mom couldn't help but laugh at the adorable thought, much to Amity's furious embarrassment. "EDRIC!"

Camila soon calmed down and spoke up. "¡Qué precioso! I remember when Luz was 10 and I opened her door to see her kissing a poster of Azura," she explained, making Luz freak out and gain a bright blush on her cheeks.

"MOM! Not in front of my friends," Luz exclaimed.

All of the Blight Siblings laughed at this, but Amity was able to stifle her own laughter because she had done the same thing in her own secret library hideaway. "As fun as this is, Mrs. Noceda," Amity said, "we have to get back to work."

"Please, call me Camila," Luz's mother told Amity. "Just look out for my daughter, okay? You look like you've got a good head on your shoulders and can help her when things get out of hand."

Amity smiled as she adjusted her hair. "She's done a lot for me, too," she told Camila. "I promise I'll help her out when I can."

"Gracias," Camila said. "I have to get back to work now. I'll call you later, Luz. Te quiero."

"Yo también te quiero, mamá," Luz told her mother before ending the call. "I'm going to check on the others. See you later, Amity."

"Bye, Luz," the twins said as Amity only waved with a smile on her face when Luz left the animal room.

After checking over everything else in the café, Luz went to find King on her break at Eda's request. Looking upstairs, she soon found the dog in her room. "Hey, King. Eda was wondering where you went after she stole Boscha's wallet," Luz told the dog.

"I just wanted to take a nap," King said. "But now I'm bored and want entertainment."

Looking around, Luz saw her laptop in the corner of the room. "You want to help me continue writing my fanfiction," she asked.

"You've been working on that since that book fair a few days ago," King remarked. "Why even write something like that?"

"Because you can put anything into a story you want," Luz explained.

"Anything?! I want blood and violence," King exclaimed, becoming excited at the idea.

"I am trying to work on action scenes, so that can work," Luz said. "You want to help with a character? My fic's main character is Luzura," she told the dog, showing a picture of herself in a pointed witch's hat. "I know it's cliché to make a self-insert, but what's wrong with cliché? I try not to make them too overpowered. There's no fun in that."

"If that's the case, I want to be the Ki- no, Ruler of Demons," King voiced, wanting to be in the story for himself in some way.

Agreeing to do so, Luz worked on her fanfiction, 'Luzura's Awakening'. With King giving some extra input, she was able to do more editing and battle scenes. After another few minutes of progress, Luz narrated what she was writing for King to hear. "Luzura's tears fell onto the frozen prince's face, bringing him back to life from the cursed injury that was afflicted upon him."

"Eh, the wording could be better. Plus, it seems unrealistic," King critiqued.

"I see what you're saying," Luz responded as she stopped typing. "But I think a little romantic tension could be good for the story."

"Luz, there's more to life than just shipping," King told her as he scratched his ear.

Upon hearing him, Luz gave King a vicious glare that made him fear for his life. "Don't you dare insult shipping in my presence! It gives the readers more interesting character dynamics to study, a way of giving a hero a reason for why they're fighting, and can be integral to the plot of a series as much as it is to the love of a fandom! The best shows make sure that romance isn't the main focus of a series, but intertwines it into the main plot with how the characters act around each other," Luz went on, eventually continuing her rant in Spanish until she reached the end of it. "Besides... shipping to me is a way to show that weird people in weird situations can find love just like any other couple. It... makes me hope that I can find somebody to be with."

After Luz's rant was finished, King's fear died down and he looked at her with concern. "Maybe... maybe we should move on from writing that story," the dog suggested as he carefully closed the laptop, knowing that Luz's latest edits were saved.

"I'm sorry. I just love shipping. You wanna watch something on my phone instead," Luz offered as she reached into her pocket.

"Yes! I wanna keep watching One Piece. Luffy will be King of the Pirates! I want to see if he beats that stupid leopard guy after everything," the dog exclaimed with his tail in excitement as Luz plugged her phone in to charge while getting the video up.

Luz only laughed happily as she knew King took a liking to not only her Azura novels, but also a number of anime and cartoons. "Okay, King. But last I remember, you were gushing about how Chopper turned into that giant monster," she reminded.

"I never saw that coming and I loved it," King responded before Luz started the anime and King's focus was entirely on the screen.

"Don't sit too close to the screen, you little snuggle demon," Luz said as she waved to her friend.

"Yeah, don't... screen... whatever," King muttered while focused on the show.

Returning downstairs, Luz went to see how the café was doing. When she did, several customers already left and Eda was smiling as she and Willow counted up the money. "King's doing fine now. He's watching videos on my phone again," the Dominican girl told her boss.

"If it's that pirate show again, I wouldn't be surprised if he turned his stuffed animal collection into an armada," Eda chuckled.

"Well, I think I'll help Gus out," Luz said as she went to see the younger boy.

Augustus was fixing up drinks for the customers of the Palisman Café, only making rookie mistakes the first few times before quickly getting the hang of it. As he put a bubble tea into the drink shaker, he poured a coffee for another customer before Luz arrived and decorated the foam to make the drink resemble an owl. "Heya, Gus," the Latina greeted. "How's everything going?"

"Pretty good, actually," the boy said as he removed the boba drink from the shaker and poured it into a cup. "I never expected to work here, but I'm liking it. Gives me something to do after what happened with the whole UMAS thing. Plus, I can see my old club members here now," he added as he gave Bo the coffee and Eileen the bubble tea.

"Thanks, Augustus," the girls said to him before enjoying their drinks at the counter.

"Still, I would want to talk with them in the club about all kinds of strange creatures. Maybe even extend it into discussions of mythical creatures," Gus said. "Dragons, minotaurs, chimeras."

As the boy listed the types of creatures, Luz focused on the last example. "Chimeras are something I haven't really been fond of since FMA," she remarked.

"Huh? What's that," Gus questioned.

When he asked that, Luz's eyes went wide as she looked at the boy. "You never heard of Fullmetal Alchemist!? It's one of my favorite manga and anime of all time! I'll be right back," she exclaimed before rushing back upstairs to the surprise of everyone in the café. Returning after a few minutes, Luz dropped a large stack of books onto the counter. "My mom has been mailing some of my stuff here lately and she started with my manga collection. Every volume of Fullmetal Alchemist ready to be enjoyed at your leisure. I love this series so much it's why I can free draw circles perfectly," Luz explained.

Gus soon picked up the first volume and skimmed through it. "This looks interesting," Gus remarked.

"Read it on your own time, Dweebus," Eda stated as she and Willow walked up to the counter. "You're still on the clock and I'm actually paying you for this."

"With Boscha's money, I bet," Willow said quietly with a snicker.

"Nah, that's all yours, four-eyes," Eda whispered back with a smirk. "A little petty revenge for that jerk bullying you." Soon, Eda's cellphone began to ring and she answered it. "Palisman Café, how can I help you," the Owl Lady replied as she put it on speaker.

"Edalyn, this is Principal Bump," said the man on the other line.

"Hey, Grumpy Bump. How's it going," Eda responded.

"I just wanted to inform you that we dealt with the bug problem caused earlier and classes can resume later. Which means that Luz may officially attend Hexside's summer program," Bump told Eda.

Luz gasped with a large smile on her face as she heard the news. Unable to hold herself back, the Latina began to cheer. "Yes yes yes yes! YES!"

"I take it I'm on speaker," Bump surmised in a deadpan tone.

"Yup," Eda bluntly answered. "I'll drop her off later. See you later, Bump."

"Goodbye, Eda. And Luz, I hope to see you do well as a student at Hexside," the principal said before the call ended.

Pocketing her phone, Eda turned to the customers in the café and whistled loudly. "Alright, people. Café's closing now. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. I can only afford to feed so many mouths already," she told everyone.

Soon, everyone paid for what they ordered and went off. "Thanks, Luz. Hope to see you in class," Skara said as she paid for her order and even left a generous tip to the girl.

"See you at school, Hex Girls," Luz said to Skara and her friends, getting a chuckle from the Music Track student while Boscha only rolled her eyes.

Several other students bid farewells and expressed interest in visiting the Owl House again when they could. Soon enough, the only people that were left in the café were the employees and the Blight Twins. Amity was the first one to speak up to Luz, having overheard the excitement from her before. "Well, I guess this means we'll be classmates soon."

Hearing that, Luz got even more excited as she spoke to the youngest Blight. "Azura Book Club? Azura Book Club!?"

"As long as we read more than just Azura and it's a secret club," Amity whispered with a blush, not wanting her love of the fantasy novels to be public.

"It's not going to be a secret," Emira voiced with a cheeky smile.

"We're gonna tell everyone," Edric added with his own smirk.

"You already told them about the café! Let me have this club," Amity exclaimed as she started arguing with her siblings again.

As the Blight Siblings bickered, Luz turned to her friends. "How was your first day of work?"

"Aside from Boscha and her friends, everything was pretty great," Willow said.

"Maybe we can bring more business in with a little help from my expertise in the Entertainment Track," Gus suggested. "It's more than special effects. It's how to draw in a crowd. I can set up a social media page or two for this place."

"That would be perfect," Luz exclaimed.

"As long as it goes by me first, kids," Eda said as Owlbert flew onto her shoulder. "Now, then. Twins, get out. I have to pay my new employees for today and if you're anything like when me and my sister were your age, you'll just steal your sister's hard-earned cash."

"Oh please, we're already rich. Why would we do that," Emira scoffed.

"To mess with Little Miss Perfect," Eda bluntly said. Edric was about to argue, but only nodded his head after a few seconds of thinking. "By the way, drop the cat you have behind your back, buddy," Eda said to Edric.

"Whaaaat? I don't know what you're talking about," Edric said as he was obviously hiding something in his hands.

Amity immediately reached behind her brother's back and carefully held a kitten that only meowed at the group. "Really, Ed? Why would you want to steal from the woman who looks like she could sick owls on you at will," Amity questioned.

"I wanted a pet," Edric exclaimed as he tried to swipe the cat away from his sister, but Emira slapped his hands. "Ow!"

"You know how Mom feels about animals. And Dad doesn't really give a clear answer on the matter," Emira said.

"He'll still be here whenever you visit," Luz said as she took the kitten from Amity, brushing her fingers against the Blight's and prompting a small blush that went unnoticed. "Just like Amity and Otabin," she said just as the rabbit hopped into view by Willow's feet.

Edric sighed as he accepted defeat and Luz let the kitten nuzzle against his face, prompting a smile from the only brother among the Blight Siblings.

"Well, time for you two to get going. I gotta pay these kids, then break out a cup of Mama's Night Juice," Eda said, ready to have herself a cup of hard cider.

"Okay. We'll see you in the market, Choco Mint," Emira said to Amity as she guided her brother out the door before he tried to grab the kitten once again. The youngest Blight blushed in embarrassment at being called that nickname and covered her face, not seeing Willow looking away and recalling that name's memory with sadness and resentment.

Eda soon went to the register and sorted through the money earned for the day once again. Getting what she needed, she gave Luz's friends what they deserved for helping on short notice. "I'll get around to giving you real paychecks later as you work for me, but consider that enough for today," the Owl Lady told the three.

"Thank you, Miss Owl Lady," Gus replied as he pocketed his earnings.

"Thanks, Eda," Willow said as she put her money into her wallet.

"I'm glad I could actually do something that could help with my resume in the future," Amity voiced as she accepted the money. "Never hurts to get more experience."

Luz smiled and waved farewell to her friends as they all left the café. When they left, Eda closed up shop and stretched after a hard day's work. "Well, that was hectic. Time to drink my night away with a cup of hard cider," the older woman said before going into her kitchen.

While Eda went to enjoy her drink, Luz couldn't help but feel the excitement of joining her friends in school. "I gotta tell Mami," she said to herself as she reached for her pockets, but forgot that King had her phone. "Oh, right. Dog watching anime. Ah well, I can check on him now," Luz said as she went upstairs, ready to contact her mother about what possibly awaits her as a student at Hexside.

And with this chapter finished, we'll be moving onto my version of "The First Day" eventually. I loved having Luz's friends get hired at the café, especially when the Blight Siblings started bickering in front of Luz and her mom. Soon enough, I'll have more scenes with Luz and her friends getting into adaptations of other episodes, so get ready for them. I hope you all liked this chapter and what I did for it.

The latest episodes of The Owl House Season 2 were great and some of them gave me some new ideas to add into this story. So, yeah. Be on the lookout for them eventually. Especially Eda's mom in this fic.

Until next time, WaterDragonMaverick signing out.
