Anyways, on with the chapter!
The following day after school the Dino rangers were at the base because their mentor and fellow ranger, Dr.O called them over for some hand to hand combat training with Rocky, Kimberly and himself while Demiyah was doing something elsewhere.
"It's a good idea to keep up your training. Besides, not all rangers have genetic powers." Was his reasoning.
Seeing no reason to disagree each of the Dino rangers started off by sparring against Rocky.
The three rules of this sparring match were simple.
1. Knock your opponent to the ground for three seconds to win.
2. No use of genetic powers.
3. No use of weapons.
With the rules known, the three teens started their sparring matches against the elder ranger.
Ethan was up first. He was knocked down in 1 minute since he was unable to block most of the blows Rocky sent his way.
Kira was up next. She did a little better, lasting twice as long as Ethan did. She was able to block or evade the blows but was unable to get any in herself. This lead her to being knocked to the ground as well.
Finally Conner was up. He did surprisingly well. Evading the attack and landing some blows himself. It honestly looked like Conner might've won the spar. However Rocky eventually landed enough hits to knock him down after 5 minutes.
"Dude, where did you learn to fight like that?" Asks Ethan.
"Yeah, I want to know the same thing." Says Rocky.
"It was nothing really. Most of my family is trained in some form martial arts or has some form self-defense training since we either join the military or the police." Explains Conner.
"Interesting, so what do you plan on doing once you graduate?" Asks Dr.O
"Well... I don't plan on joining the military. I plan on starting a sports program, I just need to figure out how to get started."
"I Might know someone who can help with that. But how come you don't plan on joining the Military?" Asks Rocky.
Conner looks uncomfortable for a moment before sighing and explaining why.
"You remember the cyborg ranger incident back in 2000 right? Well, my uncle was one of main people responsible for the incident. He didn't have safeties put in place in case something went wrong because he thought nothing could go wrong . That's part of the reason why over 2000 people died and many others were injured. His ego cost people lives. The rest of the family actually cut contact with him after this."
The others in the room let this information seep in for a moment before Kimberly speaks up.
"Actually, we kind of guessed that already. We were just waiting for you to say something about it." She admits.
"Wait, you know my uncles name?" Conner asks in surprise. No names were given on who created the Cyborg rangers, just that they were heavily fined and penalized.
"Yeah, we were there when Jason, the original red ranger knocked him out in put him in a holding cell when he tried to confiscate our morphers to create a private army."
"Wait. He tried to do that?" Asks Ethan
"Yeah. He did, after that though we went to the UN building and warned them that we'd abandon Earth if the government tried to interfere with Ranger Business again. We weren't there alone though. The VR troopers, the Kamen Riders and the Mystic Knights of Tir Nan Og were there as well since they were allies." Explains Rocky.
"Is that how the Power Rangers Act was created?" Asks Kira.
Kimberly nods her head in confirmation.
"Yeah, the politicians knew that would be bad since Earth came under attack by powerful entities that came from space. So the Power Rangers Act was created. Specifically stating that government wouldn't get involved and would give the rangers hazard pay for taking time out of their educations, occupations, and lives to recompense for saving them so many times. They also agreed to offer reconstruction efforts and support efforts." Explains Kimberly
The teens nod their heads. Understanding what they were being told before realizing someone was absent.
"Hey, where's Demiyah?" Asks Kira.
"She's in the backyard training. She wanted to talk to you guys about something.
With that the three teens go to talk to the 6 year old.
Once they reach the backyard, the see Demiyah training with a strange blade.
"There she is. But what's with the weird blade?" Asks Conner.
"I don't know. But I've seen her use it before." Says Ethan.
"Yeah, during the mission to rescue Mr and Mrs. Oliver!" Realizes Kira.
This was true. When Ethan, Kira, and Demiyah were fighting the Tyrannodrones, Demiyah was using that blade to fight them.
"Whatever it is, I'm sure she'll explain it." Says Conner.
With that, the three teens walked over to Demiyah. She noticed them and stopped for a bit to talk to them.
Once they reach Demiyah, she asks them a question.
"I guess you're wondering why I wanted to talk to you?" Asks Demiyah.
"That, but what's up with the blade?" Asks Ethan.
"Yeah, we saw you using it to fight Tyrannodrones when we rescued your parents. What is it?" Asks Kira.
"It actually has to do with why I called you here. I figured you should know what you're getting yourselves into." Says Demiyah.
This had the three rangers confused. What did she mean? Dr.O and Kimberly had already told them about the dangers they would face.
"The first thing you need to know is that this blade is known as a Keyblade and it's special for a few different reasons."
Demiyah then explains what Keyblades and Key-bearers are and what they do. She explains how she was one of the 5 students of her adoptive grand-father Eraqus alongside Ventus, Vanitas, Aqua, and Terra. She explains how Xehanort appeared and what happened to the other students. She explains the enemies that were fought and how those enemies were targeting her.
When she was done explaining the three teens were in shock. Eventually, Conner would regain his composure.
"While this is surprising, I'll be ready at all times in case Xehanort or any of his goons show up." He says in ready for anything tone.
Ethan and Kira nod their head in agreement.
With everything that needed to be said finally spoken. Demiyah hugged each of them.
After that the three teens continued their training with Rocky and eventually the teens needed to head home.
Later that night Demiyah would have strange dreams of a kingdom in a time known as the Silver Millennium.
