Setting: After the quest is over Inuyasha and Kagome are sitting in Kagome's time and Inuyasha asks whether then can go to his forest, in Kagome's time.
A/N: Something I've noticed. The people on this site, we all seem to take great pleasure in describing the landscape of the Fuedal Era. I was thinking about this, and I though to myself, is this what they wish the country was like? I live in it friends, it's a lot wilder, and a lot more things get cut down. So I decided to write a poem about that, and then the fold song Where Paradise Lay popped in to my head.
Disclaimer: Wait a minute…no characters are actually mentioned. I own ever little bit of this poem! Ha! If anyone reports me…I will use this as evidence!
…
That disclaimer makes no sense.
Well, enjoy!
Where Paradise Lay
I slept in the trees
And ran in the meadows
I searched far and wide
For something I desired
But now everything seems
Like the wisps on a willow
Or like the grass on the green
Now this is where I belong
I'm sorry that it took me so long
To see what I was mean to see
The ones who are meant to be
It's you and me
It's he and she
And the others we'll take along
Now won't you take me back
To our own little county
Down in a green forest
Where paradise lay?
-I'm sorry my love
But you're too late in asking
Humanity's already
Logged it away.-
When I was much younger
I always did think
That humans were something
Too weak to be pitied
But now that I see a much different story
I have to treasure memories of when it was green
Now Greenpeace has tried it
And activists too
There's Newman and Seeger
But not me and you.
Emily Dickenson and Robert Frost
They've all tried to say what we could not
Now won't you take me back
To our own little county
Down in a green forest
Where paradise lay?
-I'm sorry my love
But you're too late in asking
Humanity's already logged it away.-
Please remember to review!
Till next time, dear poetry readers. Till next time.
Sincerely
Pwalefriend
