answers to reviewers questions or statements:
CRUDEN: Yes, I'm reading it.
Badger12: He isn't really close to any of them, he's only met them a handful of times.
QuantumShatter: It's a school from Riverdale. Veronica's mentioned it several times in the show.
Vikings1998: It'll be a while till Veronica leaves for Riverdale.
Saintsrow10: She wont be really interested in Peter in that way. She'll see him as a weird friend and be a bit put off by Veronica's interest in him.
Batcat320: Veronica's development into being a nicer person will start a little early in this story though it'll still be a while until she reaches that caring and understanding part, even after she and Peter begin to date. It'll be a while until Veronica moves to Riverdale, though Peter will visit when he can and vice versa.
Badger10: We'll be seeing more of Gwen and Harry.
Spiderguy: Possibly.
centinel 432: What do you mean? Like will she either like him only for Spider-man and hate Peter Parker or like only Peter Parker and hate Spider-man?
Disclaimer: I don't own any Marvel or Riverdale characters seen, mentioned or used.
"Fuck. Science"
"I'd rather not"
Peter wished he could say that Kate's tutoring sessions were getting better as they went. That the cheerleader was getting better and better as time went on and soon won't need his help anymore because she seemed to have magically found her stride with science...
"Fuck it, and whoever discovered it to hell" Kate huffed as she slammed her head on to the table with enough force to cause their drinks to shake a little.
"I'm good" Peter sighed as he tried to not fidget under the numerous looks he and Kate were getting from the other patrons of the café they were in.
"This is bullshit!" Kate hissed as she looked up at Peter with a glare "We've been at this for a week now and I'm still barely getting the hang of this crap!"
"Your telling me" Peter muttered as he ran a hand over his face, even Liz wasn't this difficult.
"Who the fuck is Liz and the fuck you mean difficult?" Kate asked with a scoff.
'Craaaaap, said that out loud' Peter thought with a mental groan before he shrugged "Head cheerleader at my last school. Same problem you have, not great at science"
"Well whoopy fucking doo for you, you get to play tutor for cheerleaders. Must be a dream come true" Kate sneered.
"Honestly you two are kinda making it a nightmare" Peter said dryly before he reached over for his cup of coffee and drank some of the now lukewarm liquid.
"Look, I'm trying" Kate sighed with frustration "I am, believe me, but none of this crap is sticking!"
Peter made a humming sound at this as he considered how to make this easier for Kate, and by proxy him. So far she was proving to learn differently from Liz who simply needed to be ran through the lessons again and again, sorta like-
'I wonder' Peter thought with wide eyes before he leaned towards Kate "How much of your guys' cheer thing do you know?"
"Excuse me?" Kate said with a raised brow.
"You cheer thingy" Peter said as he snapped his fingers in attempt to see if that'd help his brain find the right wordage "Cheer routine"
"Uhh, all of them... why?" Kate said with growing confusion, wondering why the hell Peter wanted to know.
What, did she want him to dress up like a cheerleader and give him a little show like Veronica does for her deadbeat boy toy?
"So you gotta learn where all of the other cheerleaders are in a formation, right? Know who goes where and when so that way nothing's messed up, yeah?" Peter asked.
"Yeah" Kate nodded slowly, still not sure where the man was going with this.
"Well, think of these equations your trying to learn as a-a-a-a cheer routine thing. Some of the other girls are like certain variables and constants, the letters and numbers of a equation. The numbers are like, the type of move or routine you guys would do while the variables are-"
"The amount of girls we need for each move" Kate said, she thinks she's starting to get what Peter was going with this.
"Exactly" Peter nodded enthusiastically "And the equation itself is you and the others doing the things with the end result being the equation's solution"
"Huh..." Kate said as she bit her lip and thought about what Peter said "Yeah, I guess your right. There's a bit more to it that than, but yeah"
"So all we need to do is sorta make these equations seem like cheer routines and with a bit of repetition, you'll have this stuff down in no time" Peter said as he pulled out his notebook and began to write down a few notes.
Kate nodded slowly at this "Y-Yeah, I think that might work... huh, what do you know? You really are smart"
"I was hoping you chose me to be your tutor because of that, not because I'm insanely good looking" Peter joked.
"Honey please, your cute but I wouldn't say your insanely good looking" Kate said with an amused eye roll.
"Ehh, I'll take whatever scraps you throw my way like a good little dog and be happy" Peter shrugged as he wrote down a few more things before he slid the notebook towards Kate to view "Okay, so I sorta took one for the equations and broke it down as best I could, noting what each variable and constant represents in the equation. Just think of someone on your cheer squad thing to fill in for the variables while the constants can be certain cheer routines that need x amount of girls to pull off to get your solution"
"Right, right..." Kate said as she stared at the broken down equations and tried to ignore the headache she was getting from looking at them all and began to write down certain girls names and what routine they'd be a part of "So tell me, this Liz girl, you do something similar? Make the equations like some kind of cheer routine?"
"Nah, she just needed to go over it a number of times for it to stick" Peter shook his head "She's smart, like you, she just needed to learn the material in a way that fits for them"
"Ever think of being a teacher someday?" Kate asked as she dotted down a few more names.
"Crossed my mind from time to time but I don't think it'd work out in the end" Peter admitted with a sigh.
Mainly because his hectic life as Spider-man might make getting to school on time to teach his students near impossible to pull off. And that was before he got into the possibilities of his rogues finding out who he was and going after the kids just for the hell of it.
"Pity, I think you would've been pretty good at it" Kate said as she slid the notebook back towards Peter to look over.
"Maybe in another life" Peter said as he took the notebook and read what Kate wrote down "Hmm, I think we can find a way to help make these easier to remember. Like certain routines can be connected to certain equations with certain 'cheer members' assigned to them"
"If it helps I'll add the freakin marching band and flag girls" Kate snorted.
Peter grinned as he put the notebook away and reached for the last of his coffee to drink "I'm sure you'll get it without having to use an entire Pep Rally's worth of people"
Kate chuckled at this before she took a deep breath "Thanks, by the way. I know I haven't been exactly... easy"
"Your fine" Peter waved off her apology "While you haven't caught on to things as fast as the last person I tutored, your just as dedicated"
"All the same, thanks" Kate said as she gave Peter a serious look, at least Peter thought it was serious.
Girl always looked like she was about to either compliment you after some serious thinking or deck you right than and there.
"Is Kade still giving you and the others trouble?" Kate asked as she took her cup of coffee and held it in both her hands.
"No, he hasn't, but I've learned that when your local high school tormentor stops harassing you for days on end, it means their gearing up for something big" Peter said with a sigh "Michelle thinks he's gonna do something 'especially stupid' while Ned seems to think we just might be in the clear, finally"
Kate nodded at this before she took a sip of her drink "If you want... I can talk to Veronica"
Peter quirked a brow at this "Uh, okay?"
"She can get Nick on his ass and get him to back off" Kate explained with a face that made her look like she just tasted something unpleasant "Might be the first and only time that shit's done something useful"
"I wouldn't be against the school's two resident jerks bothering each other for a change" Peter said with a tired grin before he yawned to the point he was pretty sure he heard a faint 'pop' sound in his jaw.
"Late night?" Kate asked with a raised brow as she took another sip of her drink.
"Something like that" Peter said with a yawn as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Last night he was out until one in the morning dealing with nine different attempted robberies and a break in, and two car chases. Not the busiest of night's he's had, but each crime literally happened on the other end of the city, so the moment Peter was done with one, he'd have to high tail it to the other end to deal with the new one.
"What were you doing all night?" Kate asked, curious.
"Oh I was just ironing out the final details in my master plan to get you to ask me out as a thank you for helping you get a passing grade for our class" Peter joked.
"In your dreams Parker" Kate laughed.
"My dreams are the only times it seems to work, so I'm trying to make them a reality" Peter nodded with a solemn expression before he broke out into a grin.
"Well I'm not really into hooking up with someone since I just got out of a relationship with a massive tool" Kate admitted as she finished the last of her coffee before putting the now empty cup off to the side and kicked her heels off and rested her feet on the empty seat next to Peter "Sides, I think it's poor form to date the guy that literally decides whether or not I'll pass"
"I think you over estimate just how much influence I have over the Professor" Peter said dryly.
"You can easily teach me something wrong and I'd never know until it was too late" Kate pointed out.
"I could, I could, but I'm not that shallow" Peter said with a shrug.
"I can tell" Kate said with a grin as she leaned back in her chair and stared at Peter with a thoughtful look on her face before she smirked "Be kinda hot though, being all 'let me take you out or I'll take out your chances of passing class'"
"Not a bad plan" Peter tapped his chin in thought.
"See, your tutoring is already paying off. I'm thinking up sure proof plans that'll help you get a girl that's lowkey into being dominated and ordered around" Kate said with pride.
"Kinda says a lot that girls at Spence are into that sort of thing" Peter said as he shook his head.
"Have you seen the guys we have there?" Kate asked with a deadpanned expression "Add the fact that half the bitches I know on the cheerleading squad all have daddy issues or get spoiled silly by their rich daddies and your gonna get one screwed up gal with poor tastes in guys"
"I didn't want to judge but..." Peter trailed off with a snicker, causing Kate to give him a light kick to the shin before she winced and let out a hiss of pain as she brought her foot up and rubbed her toes.
"Ahh, the fuck you wearing, shin guards?" she asked as she peeked under the table to see if she maybe kicked Peter's seat instead.
"Shins of steel" Peter remarked dryly "Also ow"
"You ow? What about me ow?" Kate groaned as she wiggled her toes to make sure they still worked "Like seriously, what the hell? It was like I kicked a freak rock"
"Glad someone is noticing my commitment to leg day" Peter said, causing Kate to scowl at him some more before she slipped her heels back on "Maybe next time keep those on when you do plan to kick someone in the leg"
"Parker, do you have any idea how expensive these heels cost?" Kate asked the teen across from her with a deadpanned look.
"One thousand sixty seven dollars and eighty nine cents" Peter guessed.
"Eww, no!" Kate said with a face of disgust "What third rate thrift shop do you hang around?"
"Salvation Army and when I'm feeling extra gucci, J.C. Penny" Peter said with a straight face, causing Kate to giggle.
"Ah, that explains it all" she stated as she brought her legs up and wrapped her arms around them so she could rest her chin on her knees.
"That looks extremely uncomfortable" Peter said with a raised brow.
"Pays to be extra... flexible" Kate said with a playful wink.
Peter made a 'hmph' sound as he began to pack the last of his things before standing up "Well Miss Bishop, I'm glad we've seemed to reach a breakthrough in your learning habits today, I should have something written up for tomorrow that can hopefully help you"
"You gotta a girlfriend?" Kate cut Peter off with a searching look on her face.
"Uh, what?" Peter blinked.
"Are you dating someone?" Kate asked as she continued to stare at Peter with narrowed eyes "Someone your sweet on?"
"Uhh, no not at the moment..." Peter said with a look of bewilderment on his face "Whhhhy?"
"If your tutoring helps me pass the next test we have, I'll help you get a girlfriend. A cute, popular one" Kate explained with a grin "There's a few girls on the squad that are lowkey into nerds like you. Plus Veronica and Nick are about to reach another 'break' moment in their relationship, so I can start setting you up for her for when they do break it off"
Peter stared at the girl before him with a look of disbelief before he blinked several times and cleared his throat "Umm, as nice as that sounds, I-"
"Grateful? excited? Indebted? I know" Kate said with a smirk before she waved the nerdy teen and part time vigilante off "I'll send you a text with pictures on whose available and what they look like"
Peter frowned at this "Uhh, I don't think you understand, I'm not looking for-"
"And yes before you ask, the ones I'm picking do give head on a first date if it goes well" Kate said with a suggestive grin that caused Peter to blush a little "Even Veronica"
Peter heaved a sigh out at this before throwing his hands up in defeat "You know what, I'm not even going to try and bother. You do you Miss Bishop!"
Without another word, the Queens born hero turned on his heel and started to head for the café's door while Kate quickly fished her phone out of her purse and began to scan through her contacts to see who was available for her nerdy little tutor before her phone began to ring and vibrate as she got a incoming call...
From her father.
Kate paled at this and very quickly answered her phone "H-Hello d-"
"I'm sending Earnest to pick you up and your coming right home to explain something to me and your mother. Don't you even try to make up an excuse!" her father hissed through the phone before the call abruptly ended.
Tears began to leak from Kate's fear filled eyes as she stared at the surface of the table and her phone slowly began to slip through her fingers.
...
"Yo, how was tutoring with Kate?" Ned asked when Peter finally met up with him down the block of a chilidog stand Spence's newest student mentioned the other day.
"Think we might have made a breakthrough" Peter said with a pleased grin on is face before he realized that Ned hadn't arrived alone and said newcomer was currently reading a book on...
"It's about modern day human trafficking in South East Asia and how it affects the region's economy and culture" Michelle said as she slowly turned the page of her book "Also stop looking surprised that I'm here. I like food as much as the next person that doesn't want to look like some anorexic bimbo"
"Nothing works up an appetite like reading about some immoral atrocity, huh?" Peter said with a disturbed look on his face.
"Horrifying actually, but oddly educational" Michelle said with a nod before he glanced up at Peter with narrowed eyes "So, Ned tells me that you swear by this place. If it's not up to my standards and I even think there's a violation of someone's human rights among the staff, I'm having it closed down and hitting you with a wooden spoon"
"Why a wooden spoon?" Peter asked with confusion.
"Don't ask, or she'll hit you with one anyway" Ned said with a shake of his head before he clapped his hands together and rubbed them eagerly "Now, let's get these chilidogs. I can smell them from here"
"No I think that's the garbage over on thirty second street. It was taco Tuesday last night" Peter laughed as the three began to make their way down the somewhat crowded sidewalk towards the chilidog stand that Peter came across as Spider-man a few months back.
"Wait, yesterday was Thursday" Michelle said with a confused expression on her face.
"I know what I said" Peter said as the three reached the chilidog stand.
Ned was practically drooling at the sight and smell of the chilidogs on display while Michelle simply stared at the establishment with a deadpanned expression he swore was her face's natural state. Peter smirked at both of their reactions as he made to get in line when he felt his spider-sense suddenly go off.
'Oh come on!' Peter thought with a mental groan as he turned just in time to receive a face full of... something sticky.
"So, so, so, so freakin close" Ned said in a depressed tone as Peter reached up to rub away... whatever it was that hit him in the face while Michelle...
"WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCKSHIT!" she screamed as she tried to get the substance out of her eyes while trying to not gag at the smell of the substance she and her friends were pelted with.
"Do I even want to know what we were just hit with?" Peter asked as he held his hand out and stared at the substance that was on it.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD IT'S HORSE SEAMEN!" Michelle scream as she began to gag as she tried to clean the substance off her face.
"Do I even wanna know how she knows what that smells like?" Ned sighed with slumped shoulders.
"Well you mentioned that her family owns a ranch outside the city, maybe she's walked in on her prize mare going down on a pony or something" Peter shrugged as he mentally placed this incident on the very top of worst things ever experienced since he was born.
Even as big a dick Flash was back at Midtown, even he never went this far.
"What's wrong Jones, I thought you'd like a nice little cumshot that wasn't made from ink for a change" came the familiar voice of Kade Killgore.
Peter, Ned and Michelle turned to see Kade was leaning against the doorway to the chilidog stand they were about to enter with some odd device in his hands. Peter thought it looked like some kinda of potato gun, though modified to shoot... well not potatoes. Peter scowled at the teen while Michelle had torn a sleeve of Ned's shirt and began to use it to wipe the remnants of the horse seamen off her face before she glared at the smirking teen with a look that could've frozen the Red Skull.
"You. Fucking. Shit stain!" Michelle hissed.
"Ooh, classic" Kade said as he reached into his pocket and retrieved his phone before opening up the camera app and began to record Michelle's current state, along with Peter and Ned's "Feast your eyes Spence, on the Three Horse blowers. Hey uh tell me, while Ned here is trying to find a way to fit his micro-penis into the horse's ass, is it Michelle or Peter that blows the thing's dick?"
"Honestly, I think the real question we should all be asking is why do you have horse cum in the first place?" Ned said as he used his still intact sleeve to wipe away the last of the horse seamen off his face "Like, is there a market for that or something?"
"This day and age, I wouldn't be surprised" Peter remarked as he ignored a still smirking Kade and turned his attention to Michelle "You okay?"
"I'm. Fucking. Peachy!" she growled as she glared at Kade with sheer and utter contempt in her eyes.
"Aww what's wrong Jones, upset it's not my cum dripping down your face" Kade laughed as he shut his phone off and pocketed the device before making a show of gripping his groin "Want me to fix that?"
"You fucking pig" Michelle snarled.
"After this, getting a kiss from anyone, let alone a hug other than a pig will be a Godsend for you" Kade snorted.
"How'd you even know we'd be here?" Peter asked with a frown.
"Oh, you can thank the fat idiot next to you" Kade pointed at Ned "Fucking idiot posted about how he was going to this pigsty for a chilidog with you all and I just had to invite myself. Next time, don't post shit for everyone to see, dumbass"
"Yes, thank you for the advice Kade" Peter snapped before he gave Ned an annoyed look "Also, on top of that Star Forge, I'm demanding a Venator destroyer from you now"
"That's fair" Ned said with a sigh before he looked up at the name of the chilidog stand "Well, I can safely say that my appetite is ruined for the day. Want to go?"
"Sure" Peter nodded before he felt Kade shove him in the shoulder, causing him to glance back at the teen with a scowl, this guy was really pushing all kinds of buttons he didn't even know he had.
"What are ya gonna do, Parker?" Kade asked with a sneer "Go crying to an 'adult' like a little bitch that isn't man enough to grow a pair and take his ass kicking head on?"
Peter's eyes narrowed as he stared into the eyes of the other teen with a scowl before he took a deep breath and began to turn away from him "Actually I'm gonna do nothing... your not worth it"
"Come on Pete, let's get out of here" Ned said as he placed a hand on Peter's shoulder and began to tug on it.
Peter nodded "Yeah, sides I think I'm gonna need to dip my body in acid to even come close to feeling clean"
Kade growled as he saw Peter and Ned turning away from him, HIM, as if he was something insignificant and not their betters in everyway. They dared to make a mockery of him! Just as Kade reached out and grabbed Peter by the shoulder, Michelle rushed forward and struck the teen in the side of his head with her book, causing him to stumble back in surprise. Michelle blinked at the sight of Kade NOT falling down as she hoped and paled as the larger teen slowly turned towards her with a enraged expression before he threw his hand out and struck her clean across the face with an audible 'smack'.
"Fucking touch me ag-" Kade snarled before HE was suddenly turned around after a hand grabbed his shoulder and found himself face to face Peter.
Kade's brow furrowed at this briefly before he saw Peter's fist fly towards his face a split second before everything went dark.
...
And done.
