Once the crackle of thunder faded and the flash of lightning ended, Chu and Yusuke yelled out a war cry before proceeding to exchange punches. Back and forth, over and over again, the two fighters pummeled each other while wearing huge grins on their faces. Kagome was certain she could even hear chuckling coming from Yusuke. However, the human girl soon grew bored. Yes, they were fighting but still...

Her eyes widened as she felt hands grab onto her kimono and looked over to see Keiko with tears in her brown eyes. "Can't you stop them? I mean, they'll listen to you, right?"

"..." She sighed and wrapped her arms around the younger girl. "I can't stop them. And not just because I'm the new girl. I'm just a replacement fighter and unless he dies, anything I do for an active fighter in the ring would be considered cheating. We can't allow ourselves to be disqualified. But don't worry. Yusuke has a thick skull and I'm sure he'll be fine. Just...have some faith and trust that he'll win this bitch-slap fight." When those teary eyes looked surprised at her final comment, the miko rolled her own blue orbs. "Seriously, this is not the fight that will take him down. If anything, I'm getting bored. Yusuke, any time you want to finish this would be appreciated! I'm comforting your girl for you!"

After Yusuke's next punch, he flipped her off before receiving his next hit to the face. Kagome huffed and flipped him off in return. "So boring!" she snapped, mostly teasing at this point. "At least the fights in the feudal era weren't like this. Although, I wouldn't have minded Inuyasha's battles against Sesshomaru to be like this..." She grinned at the though of the two dog demon half-brothers exchanging slaps instead of using their demonic skills to try to beat the other. Less flashy but hilarious.

"Sesshomaru?" Kurama asked, a glint in his emerald gaze. His serious face had a hint of curiosity. "I know of a demon lord by that name..."

"Yeah, he was the Western Lord back in the day and a major human-hater, a real jerk to everyone who challenged him. But he didn't just attack people like a rabid dog--he always had a reason. I respected him for that..." She blinked away tears as her losses once again attacked her psyche. "Is he still alive? I mean... you said 'know' so...?"

"15 years ago, he was alive and ruling the Makai over the 3 kings. However I have heard nothing since. Hiei?"

Red eyes glared up at Kurama before looking away. "He still reigns but is rarely in the Western Citadel. It is common knowledge that he travels the Makai as he pleases and visits the kings at his leisure."

Kagome smiled softly and brushed her hand along one of the hems of the kimono she haphazardly wore. "Good to know some things haven't changed. After the final battle... he gave me this as a symbol of his protection. By then Inuyasha... I think Sesshomaru wanted a pack and after his hated half brother was gone, he decided to make me a part of his pack. Rin was so excited... but I had to see if the well would work after Sango and Miroku married. I didn't know I could never go back..." She frowned at the idea of a crying little Rin--crying because her 'sister' never came back. She felt a hand on hers and looked down to see Rinku looking at her strangely.

"... don't be sad. It does something to that warmth..." He gave her a little smile. "Besides, it sounds like you have a great story to tell. But it should wait until later, right? After all, Chu still has to beat that idiot." He grinned up at her when she stuck her tongue out at him. The warmth that he enjoyed about her seemed to heat up when her personality sparked and that was the way he wanted to keep it.

Kurama cleared his throat and gave a small polite smile. "This tale is certainly due to be told later. We won't allow you to continue dodging the subject so... after this fight, we will all retire to the suite where you will indulge our curiosity?" Though the last bit came out as a question, it was understood that there was no other way about it.

But Kagome was bound and determined to hold her ground. Looking over at Keiko and Kuwabara's sister Shizuru, she smirked. "Looks like I'm not the only one who has some explaining to do, Kurama... and they won't let you get away with a half-assed explanation either. So let's do our best, shall we?" Her inquiry wasn't a question either.

The redhead chose not to respond as he looked at the ring just in time for the finishing blows, a headbutt from Chu and Yusuke met it half way with his own headbutt. Rinku bragged how no one ever got up after that final move. But after a long tense moment that had everyone on the edge of their seats, Chu was the one to fall, his head cracking against the ring floor. Koto popped up happily and declared Yusuke the winner only to shrink back when the audience began to protest the decision. As the young demon boy went to go check on his teammate and friend, the team leader still in the ring yelled out to shut the fans up.

"I've been listening to you all run your mouths and I'm damn tired of it! If you've got something to say, say it to my face or say it to my fist!" He raised his hand up to prove his point and smirked when the booing ceased. He looked over at Chu and noticed that the big lug was sitting up, head bowed as he asked for him to finish him off. After all, rules were rules.

But for a punk like Yusuke Urameshi, rules were meant to be broken and he gave the alcoholic demon a thumbs up, demanding a rematch when he got stronger. This fight had him craving another once he rested up, the challenge of an opponent that he couldn't easily beat was something that he desired above all. And if that meant letting certain opponents live after defeating them... well, Keiko always wanted him to make friends, right? He headed over to his group and lightly tapped Kagome on the head. "So, how's about that story?"

She sighed and nodded. "But after everyone gets patched up and we get something to eat." She turned to Botan. "I'm assuming meals are on Koenma as the owner of Team Urameshi~"
