CHAPTER 8
SCHOOL
The following day.
Sarena was in her living room with Yuki rubbing her shoulder in a comforting manner, with Hikari sitting on the adjacent sofa, with a table sitting between them. He lie a file on the table.
"His name is Melvin Colley." said Hikari. "He calls himself Melon, because of his tattoos. His mother was a leopard, and, he hates her heritage so much, he gets tattoos of melon leaves over his spots. His mother was his first murder victim. At only 9 years old, he stabbed her to death in her sleep."
"What the fuck..." said Sarena and reached for the file.
"I must warn you." said Hikari. "You won't like what you see in there."
"I... I have to have closure..." said Sarena and grabbed the file, then opened it. On the top, she saw a picture of Melon. "Oh goodness, gracious... He... He looks... like... a demon or something..."
Hikari just looked at her. She flipped the page and started reading the report, before looking back up at Hikari.
"Rape? Cannibalism?" asked Sarena. "So then... She WAS raped... and he... ate little pieces of her..."
"Unfortunately, it is a big possibility." said Hikari.
"I can't... I can't read any more of this..." said Sarena and put the file back on the table, crying.
"I know that... This is not my house, but... May I get you anything, Ms. Gazelle?" asked Hikari.
"No..." she cried.
"She has a question for you, if you don't mind to wait until she's calmed down a bit." said Yuki.
"Of course." said Hikari.
A few minutes passed before Sarena calmed down enough to speak.
"You are part of the Hogo-sha-gumi, yes?" she asked.
"I am." said Hikari.
"How do I join?" asked Sarena.
"Well..." said Hikari and pulled a card out of his pocket. "Show up at this address. The leaders live there. Tell them who you are and that you want to join. We always welcome those who want to make Tokyo safer."
"Thank you." said Sarena.
"You're welcome, Ms. Gazelle." said Hikari and got up with the file. "I bid you farewell." he said and walked out the door, to Louis's Lamborghini, where Hikari's uncle Tamiko, the brown wolf from the club two nights ago, was, dressed in a green school uniform and blue sunglasses.
"I don't mean to sound selfish, but I really hope we're not late." said Tamiko.
Hikari chuckled.
"Relax, Uncle." he said. "That's why Father let me use the Lamborghini" he said as they got in the car and Hikari started it.
"I really hope your parents aren't made at me for being absent this weekend." said Tamiko.
"We had everything pretty much taken care of." said Hikari and started driving.
"What exactly happened, anyways?" asked Tamiko.
"Well..." said Hikari. "An older gazelle was murdered. I met a girl at the club Saturday. We were leaving when some man, who turned out to be the killer threatened to kill the girl I was with. I guess about the time I was getting laid, Father was interrogating the killer, but, he put on an act for Father and was set free. All of us were unaware who the guy was before he was let go. He killed 8 of our men and fled the country that night. We're trying to piece together where he is."
Tamiko sighed.
"Damn." he said. "It's a wonder you have any time for school."
"In truth, I really don't." said Hikari. "But... I gotta go." he said and sped off.
Soon enough, the boys were at Cherryton School, walking through the halls when a male white rabbit started walking by their side.
"Hey, guys." he said.
"Hello, Daichi." said Hikari. "What's the news on the play?"
"Well, to be honest..." began the rabbit. "I haven't really worked on it. That whole thing with Golden Manor is all over the news. I couldn't barely sleep last night. What's going on with that, Hikari?"
"Some sadistic piece of shit." said Hikari. "I wouldn't worry unless me or Tam say to."
"Why's that?" asked Daichi.
"He left the country." said Hikari. "If he ever comes back, it'll probably be a while."
"Well thank you for telling me that." said Daichi.
"What are friends for?" Hikari said and smiled at him.
"Sooo..." asked Daichi. "Were you guys actually able to have fun this weekend?"
"Yep." said Hikari and smiled at Tamiko in a teasing manner. "Tam here left all the work to me."
"Hey, look, genius." Tamiko joked. "Just because you got laid the first time we went anywhere doesn't mean it's that easy for the rest of us."
"Amen." said Daichi.
"The fact of the matter is deer are more attractive than wolves." said Tamiko.
"Well, shoot." said Hikari, smirking. "If I were gay and not family, I'd say you were hitting on me."
"Listen, facts are facts, no matter how they sound." said Tamiko.
"Well, what did you do this weekend?" Hikari asked Daichi.
"I watched some crappy romance film in the theater with my girlfriend on Friday." said Daichi. "Mind you, it wasn't something good like Grease 1 or Titanic, it was actually... REAL trash."
Hikari and Tamiko chuckled.
"Perhaps we ought to have a boys night out and go see Friday the 13th or something." said Tamiko.
"Wait, they actually made another one?" asked Daichi. "It's about damn time. It's been what? 40 years?"
"Well, ya know." said Tamiko. "These companies and arguing over rights."
"Are you so sure a SLASHER is really the best thing to be watching right now though?" asked Hikari.
"You said the killer is out of the country." said Tamiko.
"Yeah, but..." began Hikari. "It's still early enough to be causing nightmares."
"I really wish he wasn't right about that." said Daichi.
"You'd have a LOT of nightmares working with us." said Tamiko.
"Yeah, especially those night clubs." Hikari said sarcastically. "Singers and dancers and bartenders, oh my."
"Are you going to tease me about that all day?" asked Tamiko.
"Hmm. Depends." Hikari teased. "Are you going to open that door all day?"
"I think sometimes, I'll keep it closed." said Tamiko.
"Well, I'll see you guys after class." said Daichi.
"Later, Daichi." Hikari and Tamiko said at the same time.
