Morning Ritual
Just like every other day around 10 o'clock, Michael traipses out of his office with a look in his eyes that Pam knows all too well. She tries to prepare herself for the offensive, lame, and/or embarrassing show she knows he is about to put on. He walks up to her desk and begins his morning ritual, "Pam Pam bo-bam, banana fanna…." Again, just like everyday around 10 o'clock Pam lets her mind wander to anything but what Michael has to say to her. With an acute awareness that she has honed over her three years at Dunder-Mifflin, she sees that Michael is winding down to his big finish. "…mo-mam, PAM!" Michael says extremely too loud and waving his arms around as if he were a magician putting on a show. Pam looks at him and is about to laugh in the polite way she has to whenever Michael does anything that is meant to be hilarious, when suddenly Dwight breaks out into song.
"Dwight Dwight bo-bight, banana fanna…"
"Dwight. This is an office and you just can't break into song at any time you feel like it. Especially such a lame song," Michael says and looks to Jim for reassurance. Jim nods his head as if Michael has said something exceedingly profound, to which Michael in turn smiles as if his job is done. Believing that he has gotten what he came for, he looks around the office, focuses on Ryan for a second longer than necessary, and walks back into his office.
Jim and Pam look up at each other to share their own little smile on Michael's behalf. While they are still smiling Michael again walks out of his office and heads toward Pam where she already has her hand extended with the mail.
