Around the streets there's no snow glist'ning
I'm humming tunes 'though no-one's list'ning
I'm trying to spread a little cheer
To brighten up the end of year
'Cause angels granted me my wishing

My partner don't feel up to much
He had the plague, did my friend Hutch
And though he's back at work with me
I hear him sigh so wearily
I want to wrap him up and such

But he's still here and that's a blessing
I'd have sold my soul, I'm confessing
To the Devil Mephistopheles
To save the one who's my best me;
To keep our special bond possessing

It's gonna take a while, I guess,
For the fear in me to de-coalesce
Right now, I'm filled with gratitude
That's fuelling this whole attitude
Of a joy that is just limitless

Give thanks, have joy, count your treasures
Don't take for granted simple pleasures
Life's too short – I have learnt this year
So spend time well and be sincere
And give your friends your fullest measure
