YESSSSS

You put your hair in a messy bun (or left it down if you have short hair) and slid your feet into fuzzy slippers.

As you grabbed your wallet and phone, you left your house and started walking to the address given to you. It wasn't far away at all, it was about a 7-minute walk.

When you approached the cafe, you stared at it with wide eyes. It was an average, almost retro place. The glowing red sign that hung above the entrance read "Mel's Diner and Cafe".

You pushed the door open and bells jingled at your entrance.

"(Y/n)! Over here!" Bokuto called.

Your head turned to the sound of his voice and saw him sitting at a table near the corner. It had bookshelves behind it, filled with old, dusty books.

His hair was messy and down and he had a bright smile - as usual. He wore a baggy yellow t-shirt with gray sweatpants.

You sat across from him and smiled. "Jeez, you're such a morning person," You teased. "I need three cups of coffee to get bright-eyed and bushy-tailed."

Bokuto shrugged. "I'm an early bird and a night owl, y'know?"

"I think I'm the latter." You sighed.

"You're not a ladder!" He exclaimed. You both laughed and you shook your head.

"No no, latter with two t's! It means the second of two choices." You explained.

He nodded and a waitress walked over to your table. "Good morning, what can I get y'all today?" She asked.

You peeked at the menu. "I'll have an f/d and f/bf. Oh, and three coffees."

Bokuto looked completely concentrated on his menu. "Hmm... Oh! You guys have steak for breakfast?!" He asked.

"Yup!"

"Awesome! I'll have an orange juice and the steak thingy!" He ordered. The waitress nodded and took the menus.

You yawned and stretched. "You're pretty." He said innocently.

You smiled. "I know! And thanks, you're not so bad yourself." You couldn't help but blush a bit and look away. Normally, compliments were easy for you to take. But the way Bokuto said it so casually almost irritated you.

You wanted him to gaze into your eyes and hold your hands, then whisper, "You're beautiful."

Sure, that craving of yours might have seemed greedy. But you decided that you could be greedy with him. You'd steal away all of his hugs.

You smiled as you reminisced the hug he gave you last night.

The hell? What am I thinking? It was just a hug.

God, hormones are making this bitch go bonkers.

"Oh, and I'm sorry but Akaashi wouldn't wake up when I texted him so he's not coming." He informed you.

You looked at the floor to think for a minute. "Bo! You know what we should do?" You asked, raising your voice a bit with excitement.

"I dunno!"

"Just guess!"

"Go to Akaashi's house and wake him up to annoy him??" He guessed.

You grinned. "How'd you know?"

"It just seemed like a fun idea!" He responded.

"Okay, we'll go there after we eat." You planned.

Bokuto nodded.

The waitress served your food and drinks, and you grinned at how delicious it smelled.

"Thank you, ma'am!" Bokuto exclaimed. You thanked her, too.

"You're a very lucky girl." The waitress told you.

Your head tilted a bit. "Yeah! I'm pretty awesome so I guess that's super lucky!" You giggled but the waitress shook her head.

"I meant your boyfriend," She said. "He's very polite."

You looked over at Bokuto - who was blushing - and back at the waitress. "He's not- we're not- like, uh- he's not my boyfriend." You stammered.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry!" She squeaked.

You shook your head. "No, no! It's alright!" You exclaimed.

Bokuto was still beet red. "...Bo?" You called. It's like he's in a trance.

"Bokuto?" You tapped his wrist. He jolted up a bit.

"Huh? What?"

You giggled and took a sip of one of your cups of coffee. "Dig in!" You ordered.

"Itadakimasu!" You both said and ate your breakfasts.

"Hey, wanna make a deal?" You asked.

He nodded. "Whoever finishes their entire meal first has to pay for the food!" You challenged.

"Bet!" Bokuto exclaimed. "You ordered three coffees, there's no way you'll win!"

...You won.

And Bokuto turned emo.

"Bo! Hey, cheer up, it's okay!" You booed his nose but he was still sad. You got up and stood next to him, playing with his hair.

"Bo~ Cheer up~ It's okayyyy~" You sang in a silly voice. He laughed a bit but was still sad.

"I'll be honest," You whispered. "My meal was way smaller than yours. Steak is hard to chew sometimes, and it can be hard to eat. Plus, you had eggs and waffles and-"

"YEAAAAAHHHHHH! I'M THE BEST! TECHNICALLY, I WON!" He shouted, getting looks from customers everywhere.

"That is not what I said!" You exclaimed, amused at his sudden mood swing.

Someone bumped into you while reaching for a book, and you fell into Bokuto's lap.

"Uh-"

"Uh-"

"Uhhhh-"

"Uhhhh-"

"Ello there mate, lovely day, innit?" You impersonated an Australian person because you do stupid things when you're embarrassed.

"Blimey, it is a g'day!"

Bokuto did stupid things when he was embarrassed too.

You scrambled off of his lap and got back in your seat.

"So uh..."

The bell to the door jingled and loud steps sounded from it. "The hell was that?" A familiar voice asked.

"Oh, hey guys!" Bokuto greeted. Kuroo was followed by a short boy with bleached yellow hair. It was black on top, showing that he hadn't touched up his hair in a while.

Kuroo pulled you up by your arm. "Seriously, stop making moves on him!" Kuroo shouted.

You were getting looks from everyone in the cafe.

"I accidentally fell, it was an accident!" You defended yourself. "Why are you hateful towards me, anyway? In case you haven't noticed, I'm not your ex. I didn't do anything to hurt you!"

Did he seriously just come into this place to insult me?? That is beyond douchey.

The shorter boy's eyes widened. "Kuroo, we should-"

"No." His gaze darkened. "Who told you about that?" Turning to Bokuto, he growled. "Dude? You just told her everything for no reason?"

Bokuto shook his head. "No, I just told her that you had a bad ex, that's all! She wants to be friends, y'know."

Kuroo clicked his tongue. "You're an idiot for not realizing," He chuckled wryly. "She's manipulating you."

"I'm being his friend, idiot!" You argued, standing up.

He stood up straighter, showing to you that he was bigger and stronger. But you didn't back down.

"You think you're so tough, don't you? Because you play volleyball? You're a 'sporty girl? You act like you're so fucking confident, but in reality," He leaned down, getting closer to you. "You're a scared little bi-"

You kicked him in the shin and he stumbled back a bit, laughing.

"Struck a nerve, didn't I?" He teased menacingly.

"Kuroo, what the hell?! We were just having breakfast. You're being a huge dick right now!" Bokuto yelled.

"Well, she-"

"What are you so afraid she'll do?!"

Kuroo sat down and ran his hand through his hair. "She's going to hurt you! And..." He sighed and clicked his tongue. "She's gonna take you from me, dude. You're my best friend. I don't wanna lose you."

"She's not gonna take me from you, I promise. We've been best friends since high school started." Bokuto soothed.

"I know, I just..."

"Bros for life?" Bokuto held out his hand, waiting for a fist bump.

"Bros for life."

"God, if you two say Bro or Dude one more time, I'm gonna puke." The boy said. You laughed, and he smiled.

"I'm Kozume Kenma, Kuroo's friend." He introduced.

"(Y/n), Bokuto's friend."

Kuroo scratched the back of his neck as he turned towards you. "(Y/n), I'll be honest, I still don't completely trust you. But I was being irrational, y'know? We cool?"

You nodded. "Yeah, we're cool." You lied. Of course, we're not fucking cool. You insulted me several times and accused me of manipulating my friends! Why would I forgive you so easily?!

"So... We're gonna go wake up Akaashi and annoy him. Who's in?" Bokuto asked. Kuroo agreed and dragged Kenma with him.

You and Bokuto paid for the food and left.

"AGHAAAASHIIIIIIII!" You both yelled at the sleeping boy.

"...Huh..?" The poor child was half awake.

"OYA OYA OYA??" Kuroo shouted.

Kenma joined in. "Get up or... something."

"Wakey wakey, bitches be fakey!" You sang.

"Oh god," Akaashi mumbled. "There are four of them."
