As you walked back to Bokuto's house, hand in hand, you noticed something. He'd been silent this entire time. He hasn't even been this quiet in math class!
"Hey, Bokuto?"
"Hm?"
"I need to tell you something."
He looked at you curiously. "What's up?"
"Thanks..." You mumbled.
"For what?"
"The hoodie. And the hugs. And protecting me. And the friends, the group chat, the sleepover, the nickname, holding my hand-"
"Ame-san, you've done a lot for me, too. Let's call it even, okay?" He said, swinging his hands a bit. You smiled and nodded.
What did you do for him?
When you'd arrived, you both had to face Akaashi.
"Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing Minecraft with Mio. But you two can't just sneak out to Y/n's house and not wait for me!" He scolded.
Bokuto was frowning and you were too. "I'm sorry Akaashi. I didn't mean to." You began climbing the stairs and smirked. "Mio and I are gonna get revenge though."
"Yeah, we will!" She shouted from her room.
You both grabbed huge nerf guns and began shooting Akaashi and Bokuto.
"No! Let us get guns! This is illegal!" Bokuto shouted.
Akaashi chuckled and shielded his face from the guns.
"Tiny Owl, this is Rain. Do you have the location of the targets? Over." You whispered into your walkie-talkie, reloading your gun.
"Affirmative, over." A small voice responded.
"When I say the phrase "Bokuto's got cake", we will open fire. Do you copy? Over."
"Roger that," Mio said.
You stepped out into Bokuto's backyard with the boys in sight. Your gun was hiding behind a grill, and your hands were in the air.
The boys aimed at you. "Wait, guys!" You shouted. "I need to say something. I've been wanting to say this for a while now," Bokuto dropped his aim to the floor.
"Bokuto's got cake."
You grabbed your gun and Mio shot at them, followed by you rapidly gunning them down.
"YOU GUYS PLAY DIRTY!" Bokuto whined.
You grinned and after that, you all decided to put guns away. It was getting dark and the boys had gotten back from a game so they needed to shower.
"Okay, who's going to shower first?" Bokuto's mother asked. "We have two showers, so Y/n can shower in the bathroom near my room and one of you can shower in the bathroom near Kotaro's room."
You thanked the sweet woman and took a shower in said bathroom.
They had strawberry kid's shampoo and conditioner, so you guessed it was Mio's hair products. You smiled as the smell of the soaps from your childhood were washed into your hair.
When you were done in the shower and dried off, you looked through the clothes you'd packed. Frankly, you had no clue what they were due to your recent anger at... well, whatever you were angry at.
A crop top, sports bra, underwear, and volleyball shorts from... middle school.
You frowned. Those shorts would be far too short! You swallowed your pride and put the clothes on, then hurried over to Bokuto's room.
Bokuto sat on his bed, playing on his phone. "Bo!" You called.
"Ooh, you're done already? Akaashi is still in the shower." He said.
You nodded and walked into his room. "Do you uh... Have any pants I can use?" You asked. You tried to sound confident. You did. But those damn shorts were squeezing the life out of you and you knew for a fact that your ass probably looked bigger than his at this point!
"Why?" He looked up and saw your shorts. "Ah. Uh- The cl- You look great Ame-san!"
You flicked his forehead.
"Ow! Okay, I'll give you some of my sweatpants!" He chuckled grabbed a pair of blue sweatpants. You went back to the bathroom to change out of your shorts and put the pants on. Then, you ran back to Bokuto's room.
"These are so comfyyyyy!" You exclaimed. Bokuto smiled and put his phone away.
"Hey, Bokuto? You-"
"AGHAASHIII!" He shouted as his friend walked into his room.
"Hi. So Y/n is sleeping over too? That'll be fun." Akaashi said.
"Yeah! I'm excited! We can all sleep on the floor- ah, wait. Do you want the bed, Ame-san?" He turned to look at you and you shook your head.
"I don't need a bed! I'll sleep on the floor with you two!" You exclaimed.
Akaashi smirked. "Then I'll take the bed. My back hurts so bad, I must've pulled a muscle. Maybe I landed wrong, I'm not sure." He mumbled to himself.
Bokuto stood up and went to the shower. "I'll be right back. No flirting, you two!" He shouted.
"...Yeah." Akaashi sighed and chuckled a bit.
"So, Bokuto seems to like you. He talks about you quite a bit." He said, sitting next to you.
"Yeah, he talks about you too! He always tells me how awesome you are." You replied, crossing your legs.
"Are those his sweatpants?" He asked, pointing to your knees.
"Yeah, he gave me a pair because my shorts were too short! He's so nice." You beamed.
Akaashi smiled at you. "I just want you to know - Bokuto can be sensitive."
"Yeah, he went into emo mode a couple of times before!" You joked, but Akaashi remained serious.
"Sometimes, that 'emo mode' can last for days or even weeks if someone hurts him. He's been hurt before - and I won't tell you who it was because I don't want to violate Bokuto's privacy - but that person hurt him so bad that he didn't speak for weeks. He barely ate." Akaashi explained.
Your eyebrows furrowed.
"Why are you telling me all of this?"
"You're very important to Bokuto. I'm just warning you to not say or do anything that could hurt him that bad."
"I won't! I promise! Bokuto is important to me too." You whispered.
He nodded. "Thank you, Y/n. He needs someone like you."
You smiled and turned on Netflix, and the two of you watched random shows.
When you heard Bokuto walking back from the bathroom, Akaashi put his hand over your eyes.
"What the-"
"Bokuto! Why didn't you bring clothes with you to the bathroom!?" He scolded.
"It's my housekeeper!"
"But Y/n is here! Please, be a bit more respectful! You only have a towel around you. What if she saw?!" Akaashi argued.
"...Saw what? My chest? My stomach?"
"BOKUTO!" You both shouted.
When your eyes were uncovered, Bokuto only had a pair of gray sweatpants on. You saw his chest - his very well-built, well-sculpted chest.
"Get a shirt on, dumbass!" You whined.
"Okay, okay." He put on a gray shirt.
"Crap," Akaashi grumbled. You both looked at him. "It's almost midnight."
"Already?!" You exclaimed.
He nodded.
Bokuto grabbed two blankets and laid them out on the floor. Akaashi got comfortable in the bed and you sat down next to Bokuto, who was putting two pillows on the ground.
"Wait, I'm gonna sleep right next to you?" You asked.
"Yup! Is there a problem with that?"
Akaashi chuckled and you shook your head.
"Nope! No problem at all!" You exclaimed.
You wrapped yourself up in blankets and Bokuto turned off the lights.
"Night 'Kaashi! Night Ame-san!"
"Goodnight Bokuto. Goodnight Y/n."
"G'night guys!"
(Time skip brought to you by Akaashi's prettiness)
A flash of lightning filled the room, waking you up.
No. Not again. I thought the storms were done!
And thunder followed soon after...
BOOM!
You gasped and hid your face in a pillow. Then it started.. moving? What?
"Mm- Ame..?" He mumbled groggily.
You realized that you weren't hiding your face in a pillow - you were hiding your face in Bokuto's chest.
"Oh. Sorry!" You whispered, then scooted away a bit.
"It's okay... C'mere, I know you get scared of the thunder." He patted the spot next to him.
"No! You don't have to protect me from it, being scared of the thunder is so dumb. I can't believe I'm scared of-"
"Y/n." He whispered in a serious tone this time. You sighed and scooted over to him and he put his arm around you sleepily. "Being afraid of something isn't stupid, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. I don't need to be lectured. Let's just go back to sleep." You grumbled.
He rubbed your back and you slipped into unconsciousness, smiling.
(Another time skip brought to you by my inability to sleep)
"Wake up!"
"Bokuto, it's 5 AM, please let us sleep for just one more hour.."
You pried your eyes open and looked at the boys.
"Morning! How'd you sleep?" Bokuto asked. He was already up and stretching.
"I slept pretty well." You yawned and rubbed your eyes.
"I know! You were drooling all over me!" He exclaimed.
You laughed. "I don't drool in my sleep!"
"Oh yeah? You should've seen my shirt!" He teased.
You all walked downstairs, enchanted by the smell of bacon, coffee, pancakes, and orange juice.
"Y/n-chan!" Mio ran to you and hugged you. You hugged back.
"You smell like my brother. Weird. Oh, Mom and I made everyone breakfast!" She exclaimed, beaming at you.
"Wow, that's awesome! Good job Mio! It smells amazing..."
Her tiny handled you to the kitchen, where she gave you pancakes (and bacon if you like it~), and some orange juice.
Bokuto pulled out his phone and grabbed a pancake. "SLAP CAM!" He slapped Akaashi on the face with a pancake.
You and Mio stared in horror as you watched the death of Bokuto.
"AME-SANNA! HELP!" He shouted, hiding behind you. His strong arms wrapped around you.
No no no! Why does he always do this?! What is he doing to me?! Oh my god!
You squirmed around. "No! Don't bring me into this!" You whined.
"Save me!" He laughed.
You looked at Akaashi, who had pure fury written on his face. "...You're on your own, buddy." You said as you tried to squirm out of his grip, but he kept holding onto you.
"NOW, AKAASHI!" Bokuto shouted, given Mio his phone. She pointed the camera at you and Akaashi slapped you on the face with a pancake.
"WHA- I'M GONNA KILL YOU ALL!" You boomed, kicking around. Bokuto finally let you go and you hit him playfully.
His mom almost passed out when she walked in on you wrestling on the floor with him, Akaashi trying to pull you off and Mio laughing.
Soon, you left his house, saying goodbye. Bokuto let you keep the blue sweatpants, which you were grateful for.
The cool, crisp morning air slapped against your face as soon as you began your walk home.
You let your thoughts take over, enjoying the peaceful walk.
