A/N: This was for the potentially canon pairing in the Every Kind of Pairing Challenge, the up to 50 pairings challenge, and the more than a name challenge for scorpius malfoy.

Albus wasn't sure when his feelings for Scorpius changed to something more than friendship, but he knew the feeling wasn't mutual.

It was hard to see the person he loved chasing after his cousin. Even though he wanted the both of them to be happy, Albus just didn't want them to be happy together.

"Are you alright?" Scorpius asked.

"I'm fine," he lied.

"No, you're not. Tell me what's wrong," Scorpius said, sounding concerned.

Albus hesitated before he replied, "I really like someone, but they don't think of me that way."

"How do you know that?" he asked.

"They're trying to win over someone else," Albus said glumly.

"That doesn't mean anything," Scorpius said dismissively, "Have you asked them if they like you?"

"I can't," Albus answered.

"Why not?"

Albus sighed. He was starting to regret having this conversation.

"It would be very awkward between us if he didn't. He's another one of my friends and I don't want to ruin the friendship we already have by telling him I like him and he doesn't feel the same way," he explained.

Silence fell between them as Scorpius mulled his words over. "But what if he did like you?"

"What are you talking about? You don't even know who I mean," Albus asked.

He couldn't possibly know I like him, could he? he thought.

"Al, I-I know you like me. I like you too. I've been trying to find a way to tell you," Scorpius said, looking into his eyes.

"You could have told me any way than let me believe that you wanted Rose."

"I wanted to make it special and asked Rose to help me plan a date. I didn't mean for you to think I liked her that way," Scorpius told him.

"I'm sorry for ruining it then," Albus said softly.

"You didn't ruin anything. We can still go on the date," he said, shrugging.

"I'd like that," Albus said, as he leant over and placed a kiss on Scorpius' lips.

They were soft and warm and he hoped he would be kissing them for a while to come.
