A/N: This is for the november writing month and is 253 words. its also for the Soulmate!AU challenge, and the 'more than a name' challenge for Astoria.
Astoria was speechless. She could not believe that the fates had chosen him as her soulmate.
"My lady?" he questioned curiously.
"I'm sorry, I was momentarily stunned."
He nodded, apparently satisfied with her answer.
"What is your name, my lady?"
"Astoria Greengrass, and what is yours, sir?" she asked.
She could hazard a guess about who he was but did not want to say in case she was wrong.
"Godric Gryffindor," he replied with a slight smile. "What magical year is it?"
"It is 2002."
"So, I have been gone a very long time. Fate told me of the worlds recent history, but didn't tell me the year," he commented.
"Is your here about Lady Astoria? I think it would be prudent to meet him before our union is consummated."
"he is in his study. I will show you the way," Astoria replied, leading him down one of the corridors.
Instead of walking in silence the two ask some more questions about each other.
"Did you attend Hogwarts, and what house were you in?" he asked.
"Yes, the hat sorted me in Slytherin," she replied.
"The hat is still there?" Godric asked, astonished.
"It is. I think it's one of the last things that belonged to you and the other founders which is still around," she informed him.
Astoria had not known who the fates would send to her once she had done the ritual, but she definitely wasn't expecting Godric Gryffindor. It was definitely going to be interesting to day the least.
