Summary:

You read that right, that's the title. Anyway, Izuku isn't sure who he should fear, the ugly suit clad All Might or his chackling adoptive father. Also, Hado's tired of waiting and she'll be damned if Izuku doesn't go on a date with her soon.

Beginning Notes:

Alright, this chapter is more so transition than anything, and the next one will be two. Then onto cannon, because I dragged Izuku's first year out long enough and I'd like some time to focus on other fics. :D

The next few days hadn't gone well for Izuku, he'd been tired, worried, and somewhat withdrawn from everyone around him. Having a weight lifted off his chest felt wonderful but knowing that he'd lied and deceived his father figure hurt.

Though Nedzu took it in stride, looking the boy over, and doing his best to be there. He'd know something wasn't okay, ever since the boy was younger. He'd chalked it up to school yard shenanigans and nothing more than rough housing with friends.

At least that is what most of the parental books he'd read had said. Of course, the man knew how to deal with children, had for most of his life. But taking care of one child and encouraging the development of several was far different.

Izuku was his son, the person the mouse was supposed to protect. He didn't blame the greenette for anything. Izuku thought he was protecting himself and his father by lying. But, Nedzu knew, deep down, that things weren't right.

He would have the heads of those who'd caused his son harm, however figuring out who those people were was going to be difficult. Izuku wouldn't speak, Nedzu knew enough about the boy to understand why.

Always looking to protect others from the consequences they brought upon themselves.

However, what Nedzu did do was enroll the boy in weekly sessions with Hound Dog which would happen every Wednesday in the morning before classes. Izuku of course didn't object, simply nodding at the bear, mouse, thing in acceptance.

They'd grown apart once more, though Nedzu hated to see it. He understood that Izuku needed time. Needed to heal from everything that had happened and Nedzu wasn't one to push him in that regard.

Though, the boy had been pushed mentally and physically throughout the previous few days. Mr. Aizawa had begun to train the boy as promised, and Nedzu had begun showing the boy different strategies for understanding the phycological effects of quirks.

Nedzu understood that the subject was very important to both Izuku's development and his overall wellbeing. Understanding that quirks weren't everything and that no matter what quirk one was given, it did not qualify as a 'villain's' quirk was important for Izuku to know.

Of course, the boy already knew the subject deeply but understand the physical effects society has placed on a quirked user is something the boy would likely not be well versed in. The subject often didn't come up in normal schools, save for those who'd opted to take a class on the subject.

A month passes and things are different.

Izuku wasn't exactly sure how to explain it. Firstly, had been when he had walked into Nedzu's office for his usual morning meeting. Of course, it wasn't absurd to see what stood before him but it was rather surprising.

Before Izuku, stood the large and imposing form of All Might. A bright ugly yellow suit adorning his body as the man sat hunched over in his chair.

Izuku chose not to say a word, allowing the man to continue talking as he had been before. Apparently, something about joining the staff here at U.A. To which Izuku likely would have protested if it wasn't for the fact that Nedzu still didn't know about his encounter with All Might.

"Ah Izuku, you're right on time!" The white mouse said rather cheery as he stood up to meet the boy halfway. All Might turned in his chair, eyes widening only slightly as he looked the boy over. He seemed familiar but couldn't quite figure out why.

"Izuku, this is All Might, as you may know, he's looking to teach here at U.A. next year." The blonde nodded to the mammal before him.

"It's nice to meet you A-All Might, s-sir." Izuku said, his teeth somewhat gritted as he did so, fearful of the man that had nearly destroyed his only hope in life. But Izuku chose not to ponder that thought, instead playing nice and going with formality.

"You as well, young student." The man off Handley commented.

A moment passed as all three stood in silence, unsure of what next to say. All Might looking as if he wanted to be anywhere else while Izuku wanted to be nowhere near the blonde man before him. Nedzu as of course couldn't read the tension in the room and chose to sip his tea as the two failed to make conversation.

"I'm terribly sorry Principle Nedzu, I must be going now." The man commented before leaving the room with great haste. Izuku didn't comment on 'All Might' any further and instead took the now open seat in front of Nedzu who could only smile with excitement.

"So, as you may know, the freshman students are currently applying and 2nd years are being asked to take on internships for this semester." Izuku nodded, he'd heard it none stop from his three friends during their biweekly training secession that had started sometime after the training camp.

It been great for Izuku to have some nonsim related training. Though BT still advised that the boy continue to learn within the sim and sharpen the skills that were valuable to being a pilot. Izuku wished that they could practice for real but understood that the Mech was to be used only in dire situations or to kick some assholes butt…

"I am aware sir?" Izuku asked, unsure of what the importance to him such a thing would have. Nedzu took another sip of the tea glass before him.

"Well, a hero has reached out to us asking specifically for you. I usually would turn such a thing down as you are not currently within the hero course. You are my understudy and therefore are still a special case. However, I believe what this pro hero has to offer could -

*Another sip…

Bring out the best in you. While I mean no harm in saying this, I do hope that you understand. That though you have certainly come out of your shell since being here at U.A. You have not fully left behind the feelings and worry that you gained due to your quirkless status. That is why I have accepted this hero's application to work alongside you." Nedzu paused to look at the large pupils that were forming on the greenette's face.

"You will be interning under the Rabbit Hero Miruko. If you wish to accept that is." Izuku eyes widened even further, gone were the days him idolized heroes. Ever since All Might had told him he physically couldn't be one.

However, Miruko had always been an interesting hero, never one to accept internships or tagalongs of hero hopefuls. She was a solo hero who typically worked by herself more often than not. She had one of the highest capture rates in the country just behind Endeavor, and even had the attitude to back up her status.

She was a great combatant and was making her way up the rankings faster than some had expected. Of course, Izuku hadn't necessarily thought it over too much. Miruko was a newer hero, someone who'd appeared when he'd been at the height of his analyzing, but he'd let that slip. Finding that BT could research anyone he needed so what good was analytics?

"I-I'd like to accept if that's alright with you Sir?" Izuku asked looking up to his adopted father. Nedzu only nodded, bring a stack of paper out from his desk drawer and looking over it for a brief moment.

"You are a newly minted hero in training my boy, I think it'll be a great experience for you. Though I do advise caution with Ms. Miruko. She can be a handful from my what my own knowledge and perceptions of her have led me to believe." Izuku nodded, he knew the Rabbit hero could have a temper to rival even Kacchan at times.

"Well then, I suggest we begin our next lesson. Today you will be studying a subject you may know very well, Analytics." Cackles could be heard from the principal's door, Izuku may have been used to them, but he was the target for these analytical lessons…

Thus, even fear raced down his spine.

Another week passes…

There was one thing certain about Izuku's training with Nedzu, he feared the man more so now than ever.

Izuku may have known the bear, mouse, thing for most of his life but he also had never seen his adoptive father put so much effort into honing a skill. However, for now that was a worry he would deal with at a later date.

For now, he would focus on his current problems, all of which currently stemmed from one rather tall bluenette. Though she'd never know she was the source of said problems, she certainly was the definition of problems.

Firstly, would be the current unforeseen side effect of her overly bubbly nature… Izuku's face had been beet read for well over 5 minutes now and the way the poor girl just pouted when she wasn't answered had hurt even more so.

Then there'd been the way she'd asked about his day and if he was doing well in his new classes. Of course, that wasn't necessary the problem but the way she'd bounced along happily to listen to anything the green haired boy had said was certainly on the tip of being a problem.

Now, now there was the much-much larger problem that the greenette was faced with and that was-

Well, that was the fact that Hado had asked him out? Not, in the typical sense or anything like that. Nor, in a non-typical sense either? Izuku was confused, and for once BT couldn't help with any of it.

How it all came to be, was rather confusing to the first-year personal student. She, along with his other two close friends had once again been eating lunch together. Enjoying the day as it was, with the sky ever so blue and the world at ease for once in Izuku's pitiful existence.

Then once again Mirio and Amajiki had left him alone with the blue haired girl. It seemed to be far more common than Izuku had liked. Sure, they were allowed to leave whenever they wanted but it seemed odd that they always left him along with Hado.

Never had Amajiki gone with Hado or even Mirio leaving with the bluenette. It was always those two trying to leave him alone with Nejire for some unknown reason. However, as the blunette seemed to pout more so as he spaced out, he returned to the world.

"Hey-hey Izuku, could I talk to you more a moment, in private." The girl stated with a serious tone that no bubbly teen should ever use.

Izuku thought Nedzu was scary… Nejire was even more so.

The two had walked out onto the grounds of Yuuei, walking around campus as Nejire for once in her life thought over her words. Trying not to menace or mangle what she wanted to say to the boy. She'd missed her chance when he'd offered to walk her home and now as they'd both been caught in different activities it'd become hard for them to meet.

"What did you want to talk to me about Nejire?" Izuku asked, looking up to meet her pale blues.

"Oh, well I wanted to ask you about going to that new restaurant that opened up across town?"

"I-is that all, sure I'd be more than happy to go with you. Are Amajiki and Toogata coming two?" He asked, his eyes now looking off towards the buildings of Yuuei.

"N-no, I wanted it to be just us. If-if thatokaywithyou." She quickly stammered out, worried for what the greenette might think.

"I-I'd like that, um so long as it's okay with you?"

"Of course-I'd be happy to have you along. Though there was something else I wanted to tell you… For a while now." She added on, thinking back to the time they'd spend training together over the past few months during the summer.

"Um-what would that be?" Izuku asked, his heart seemingly melting.

"Pilot, your heart is in stable condition though I do recommend breathing-" The A.I. cut in.

"Oh, well I wanted to ask if you'd ah-wouldyoupleasegonadatewithme?" Hado nearly squeaked out, trying hard not to blush. Worried that Izuku didn't like her, she didn't think he wouldn't but according to an online article she'd read he might not an-and she was worried okay!?

"Ah-what was that Nejire?" Izuku asked, his mind racing to try and confirm what he'd just heard.

"I wanted to know if you would go with me to that new restaurant… As a date" Hado reconfirmed, every fiber in her body telling her no. That for once in her life she shouldn't be straight forward.

Izuku nodded, unable to say yes to her request, his voice unable to leave his mouth as he heard BT tell him to respond. Izuku just nodded and it seemed to be enough for the bluenette.

Izuku soon found himself on the ground, pulled into a bone crushing hug as the girl gladly and proudly proclaimed that she was going to make it the best date ever. Izuku just wanted to rest…

He didn't need this

Ending Summary:

I'll say it again, hope you all enjoyed, support on this fic has been wonderful and I've greatly appreciated it! I can't believe we're almost to 17k hits, that's really surprised me considering I took time off during the summer from writing. Anyway, I'm going to go watch some football and try to relax and get some college work done. - H.

I've planned to have Miruko train Izuku for a while now... Some may be thinking 'why her though' to which I argue - 'Why not?' Of all the hero's within MHA, Miruko displays the most necessary part for Izuku's development.

Which is a backbone
