1: HORROR
Charlie was flying home today. Liam sat and thought about his younger brother. Liam should have helped him more. Done something for him. Anything. Yet he rejected him. Charlie was not at all happy, and, quite frankly, Liam couldn't blame him. If their roles had been switched, he would have been furious. Flying all the way to Sydney just to be told "No, I won't come back to the band" is a bit harsh.
"I can't go back." Liam thought to himself. His daughter, Megan, was flicking television stations in frustration.
"Where is Bob?" She demanded. Liam chuckled.
"On video. I'll just get it for you." Megan hopped after Liam, leaving the news on the screen. As he rummaged through the cupboards looking for 'Bob', he heard the news briefly.
"Flight #815 to Los Angeles from Sydney crashed today after unexpected turbulence." Liam spun around and stared at the screen.
"That was Charlie's flight!"
"The whereabouts of the plane are unknown; pilots are searching but have had no success in finding the remains. Survivors are unlikely…" as the newsreader's voice droned on, Liam searched in a panic for Charlie's flight details. They matched. Liam gulped and felt like he was going to be sick.
"Come on, Daddy!" Megan squealed impatiently. Liam pushed the tape into the machine, and went to the phone book. He dialled what he hoped was the right number.
"Hello?" a woman's voice replied.
"Hi. Is this Lucy?"
"Yes, who's asking?" Liam took a deep breath.
"Liam Pace, Charlie's brother. He told me you were dating."
"Emphasise on 'were'. Look, we have no business together and quite frankly I don't want to hear his name again."
"Well I won't use his name then. Have you heard the news? About the plane crash?"
"Well, yeah, but I don't-" Liam interrupted.
"That was Charlie's plane." Lucy didn't reply. They were both silent. Liam could hear her heavy breathing.
"I don't care about him anymore." She hung up the phone. Liam sighed as he carefully placed the phone back into the receiver. On the other end of the line, Lucy had shrunk down to the floor, shaking in horror.
