Chapter 48: A New Hope

Everyone was quite baffled while looking at the dark spider. "Hmm, you do know is rude to stare right? Besides, I am just a normal spider." Said the creature as it jumped to Ruby's shoulder. She didn't even had time to move or anything, her gaze lowered and it was clear that she had a little problem with spiders since she found them quite disgusting. "Nevertheless, I came her for a purpose. I need your help little Silver Eyes, regarding your dead boyfriend."

Ruby looked at the artifact while the Dark Aura kept being released from it. "...Y-You said that the previous guardian of the artifact was corrupted right?" The spider nodded. "What do you mean by that? And how the hell do you even know that, you could be lying!" Said the young Huntress. "I bet you were the one that summoned those claws to get us."

At that moment, both Blake and Yang began to aim at the dark creature. "Hahaha! Smart girl!" He laughed. "True you shouldn't believe everything someone tells you but it doesn't really matter to me at this point." The mysterious creature walked to her left shoulder. "I just came here to try and get some help for my, uhmm 'friend', you see your boyfriend has lost control because Augus managed to screw everything up once again. The Dark Aura is controlling the child but I actually think is the other way around."

"What are you saying?" She asked.

"I mean that Geo maybe knows what he is doing. At this precise moment he is fighting against his own brother. And you are in deep trouble Red because he also plans on killing you as well."

"No! I-I don't believe you! Geo would never do anything like that! You don't know him like I do."

"She's right! He would never do such an awful thing like that!" Yang supported.

The spider simply shook its head with disappointment. "You are all naive, but deep down you know this to be true don't you Silver Eyes? The darkness inside his heart." He stared at Ruby. "Geo has butchered many people in order to protect his home. You already know this but yet you refuse to accept, Geo is not your white knight in shining armor at the very least he is human. And has a human he is not perfect but now if he keeps going down this path he will become something worse than Salem."

Ruby's gaze turned to the artifact. "...When we were aboard the Galeon, he told me that what drove him was to find Tyrian, the man that murdered his brother and mom. I could see the hate burning within his eyes, and I get that, wanting revenge for what that person did to you." The girl squeezed the orb tighter as she remembered the abuse she suffered from her dad. "If I ever see my dad again I don't know if I could control myself, but we can't let this burning feeling guide us, this uncontrollable hate. We...we have to be better than this! We can be better than this because I have seen it with my own eyes."

She must be talking about the battle with Salem. Thought Hydrox.

"Geo said that he didn't like heroes because in the end they always died, but when it really mattered he sacrificed himself to save us. For once in his life he let go of his hate and mission to hunt down Tyrian to save me, Hydrox and that other woman. At the last moment he changed, he became my hero." Her determination was unbreakable. "Even if he is lost in the darkness I know that he will find his way back because he has a promise to keep."

"...I like you." Said the spider. This was the second time he saw a human with such a good heart and a strong love that could withstand anything. "I believe that you will be able to pull the child from his darkness but we have to be quick the more time we waist the stronger he will get. Cerviel has the advantage since he spent many years in battles but Geo has rage at his side, not to mention he can be unpredictable at times."

"We are coming too." Said Weiss. "There's no way we will let you do this alone."

"Thanks girls." She smiled

"About that, I can't take that many people with me, both Gods will notice your Auras and we don't want to involve them in this delicate situation." He replied. "Sorry, but you will have to stay behind, besides you still have a Grimm to deal with after all. My advice cut its wings first than its head, its safer that way."

Yang approached her younger sister. "Are you sure you can do this sis? You heard what that spider said, Geo is in a blinding rage and it seems he wants to kill you. I-I just don't want to lose you."

Ruby smiled. "Don't worry, I have faith in him, I know he will find his way back." She hugged her older sister. "Now, stay focused and give that monster all you got."

"You got it!" Yang smashed both her gauntlets together with a smile on her lips.

"Alright, we have wasted enough time already, we must go Silver Eyes." The creature made its way towards her neck. "Usually I only take two people with me from time to time but it seems I will have to make an exception since we are three." Ruby gave him a perplexed look with a hint of blush on her cheeks. "I figured you didn't told them, but you kids should really be more careful when you have 'bed adventures', if you catch my meaning."

"Be quiet! I-I actually found out a few days ago." Ruby blushed harder. "Its not your business anyway."

"Hahaha!"

Meanwhile in the Unknown...

A large explosion erupted and within the smoke came out several pieces of stone flying and Cerviel with his sword in hand. Caedus followed his older brother with a devious smile, his black armored claw went for its target but he ducked and charged forward but the boy's Grimm hand grabbed the blade. "That trick won't work on me this time. You are not the only one who gained experience." Caedus threw him towards the wall but the young man slammed both feet against it and launched himself with great speed, he smashed his fist on his brother's face.

Caedus stumbled back but he regained his composure and blocked Cerviel's next attack with his large armored arm. Then the other large arm came down so strong that the impact shook the entire ground but it missed the target once again. Cerviel then quickly slammed his forearm into Caedus's stomach, letting out some saliva. "I am going to knock some sense back into you little brother before you do something you will regret." He followed with an uppercut, then a kick to the chest that sent him rolling across the dirt.

"Rahhhh!" He yelled with intense hate as he managed to get up. "Don't get cocky, I am not the same person you once knew dear brother." With a smile both black armored hands that were connected to his back began to form dark orbs. "Hahaha! Lets see if you can survive this!" He joined the two orbs and shouted. "Oblivion Cannon!" A massive beam of pure Dark Aura was sent towards his opponent but he didn't move.

Cerviel's sword glowed blue and with a swing the dark beam was cut in two. "Caster Slash!" He shouted. He was about to move but he noticed that Caedus was smiling and that worried him. Suddenly, a black claw erupted from the ground and grabbed him. "D-Dammit! I should have seen that coming." Cerviel muttered under his breath. "If mother saw what you were doing she would be disapointed."

"Maybe...but I am not her true son. I am a bastard child who belongs nowhere even in death." He squeezed him harder. "And don't mention her again this is between you and me. You knew who I was and yet you never told me the truth! YOU! Were the one that I respected the most, who I trusted, my brother who kept me safe." Caedus smashed him against the wall. "But you are just like the rest a liar and a fool. You failed to protect mother and because of that she died right in front of my eyes, I couldn't even do a thing to save her!"

"...I...I get it now." Whispered Cerviel. "You hate me because I didn't protect her but you also hate yourself because you didn't help." The child stared at Cerviel with his iris shaking after hearing those words. "I...I'm sorry."

"SHUT UP!" Caedus yelled in rage as he threw his brother towards a stone pillar where he hit with back, shattering the same pillar in pieces. "I am going to erase your soul from existence." The Dark Aura that surrounded his body grew even more.

Cerviel got up. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that." His blue Aura grew as well and it surrounded him. "I made a promise to myself that I would protect you no matter what! And intend to keep that promise!" They charged at each other and Cerviel quickly punched his younger brother in the jaw, followed with a swing from his sword that slashed him across the chest. He tried to cut him again but his armored massive arm blocked it, then both of their fists slammed against one another, causing a shockwave.

Caedus went to hook Cerviel in the ribs, but he dodged it with ease. Then the older warrior swung his blade from the left and managed to cut Caedus's Grimm arm, but right after that the massive armored black arm slammed its fist against Cerviel, sending him flying and in a matter of seconds he landed on the ruble of a broken stone pillar. "Come on, you can hit harder than that!" Said the older warrior after cleaning a small amount of blood from his mouth.

With pure rage the boy charged and his brother did the same, they were about to hit each other when suddenly, a large beam of golden light appeared right between them, sending both of them back and rolling across the dirt. "Ohh what the hell was that?!" Asked Caedus as he got back up. Them, he saw her, the person he never thought he would be able to see ever again, Ruby Rose. "..." He was speechless.

"You took your sweet time." Said Augus.

"We are here that's all that matters." Replied the spider.

Ruby couldn't believe what she was seeing, it was Geo, it was really him. But, he was changed, he looked like Salem because of the pale skin color. "Its...really you." She said with her sweet tone. "W-What happened to you?"

"...I...This is the true me." He answered. "You shouldn't have come here, I will give you one chance to leave or you will regret coming here!" His expression was menacing but that didn't faze her.

"This isn't like you, Geo, you would never hurt your friends or your own brother so please stop this." She said while approaching him slowly, but then the both armored arms slammed against the ground, creating a massive shockwave. It was a warning. "You don't scare me, even in this form, I still love you with all my heart."

"...Ruby." They stared at each others eyes.
