Today is the day the Particle Accelerator gets turned on. After Barry, Iris, and Bolt went to see S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry and Bolt went back to his lab to go over everything they can find to get Barry's dad out of prison. Barry continued to look at his case while Bolt laid in his bed playing with his toy, Mr. Carrot. Then Bolt heard panic on the TV and went see what's going on. Barry too went to watch the TV.
"We've now been told to evacuate the area, the storm may have caused a malfunction to the primary cooling system. Officials are now trying to shut down the Particle Accelerator, but so far haven't been able gain control the situation-" Linda Parks said.
The TV shuts off along with the rest of the power. Both look out the window and see a bright orange wave pass over the city from S.T.A.R. Labs. Barry quickly went close the window with Bolt staying close to him. As Barry pulled the chains, chemicals started to float in the air, they look at the sky and lightning strikes both of them. The lightning knocks both of them unconscious into the shelves of chemicals. Dark Matter and Lightning spreads into their bodies, it also created a black lightning bolt on Bolt's side.
They were both rushed into the hospital. Doctors and nurses were rushing in the emergency room.
"What hell happened to them!" A doctor asked.
"Kid and dog got struck by lightning." A doctor answered.
"How are they still alive?" A nurse asked.
They finally got them in the room placed them on the table.
"No heartbeat, CBC, Chem 24, Type and Cross Four."
"Bag him."
"They're coding."
Iris then rushes into to see them unconscious. A nurse pulls her away so they can work.
"You can't be here." the nurse said.
I'm family!" Iris cried.
"Charge the paddles to 200."
"Barry! Bolt!" Iris cried.
"Clear!" A doctor said as they shock them.
9 months later...
Bolt starts to wake up and sees a man and a woman taking care of them both. He learned that their names were Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon. It turned out he and his friend was in a coma for 9 months. Later, Barry and Bolt started to feel weird. Bolt saw everything slow down to a snail's pace. Bolt started run fast, like all he felt was lightning coursing through his veins.
Later, Barry and Bolt tested their speed and saw what they were capable of doing. They soon learned that there were others beside them that were given powers. Meta-humans. One of them is murderer who can control the weather.
Luckily, Barry and Bolt were able to stop him. Barry, Bolt, and their new team of S.T.A.R. Labs, they are going save this city. Barry was sitting on couch in the building with Bolt by his side.
"This is a big change for us, Bolt." Barry said to him. Bolt puts his head on Barry's lap.
"I need you more than ever to help, pal. The man who killed my mother is still out there."
Bolt growled at these, hearing that the murderer his best friend's mom was out there.
"We will catch him. You and me. The Flash and the Bolt." Barry said smiling at him. Bolt barked happily at this. Know matter what happens, he is always going to be there for Barry.
