Hello everyone! So this is the last chapter of this story. Wow, for me its a bit hard to believe that its been quite a few years but I love to write RWBY fanfic. Also, don't worry about A Shattered Life ending. I already have started writing the next installment. A Remnant of Shadow.

A Shattered Life

Chapter 49: Family

Geo clenched his hand into a fist. "Still stubborn as usual. But maybe I didn't make myself clear, if you don't leave right now I am going to kill you." He looked at her with a menacing expression but that didn't scare her. Ruby remained where she was with a serious look on her face, which showed Geo that she wasn't going anywhere. "Fine then, you will share the same fate as my so called 'brothers', but I promise to give you a quick death."

"Why? Why are you doing this? This isn't like you, I know you would never say these awful things to your friends...or me. The Dark Aura is corrupting your heart." She said with her sweet tone as she walked towards him, feeling the dark power emanating from him getting stronger by the second. "We need you back Geo, I need you back. I don't know what to do without you."

"Spare me your heroic speeches." He replied with disgust. "I am tired of listening to them but you don't have to worry about the world because I will save it." A smile spread across his lips. "The world doesn't need heroes or justice, it needs total unbiased evil! I will destroy all of the kingdoms and those who oppose me will die!" Geo shout. "In my new Remnant everyone will be treated as equals and if someone disobeys, they die. We will finally have peace."

Ruby couldn't believe what she was hearing. Geo, the boy who fought for those who couldn't protect themselves was now aiming to slaughter thousands only to achieve his vision of 'peace'. "Peace? You mean a world ruled with fear and blood? After murdering thousands? That isn't a perfect world, that's a massacre." She replied angrily. "You want to become like Salem? A God of Death!"

"I will create a world where no girl is raped by her own father! Or a young boy turned into a murderer...a monster." In that moment Ruby stopped, she could see the pain in his eyes and feel the desperation in his words. "You want to bring everyone together and build a peaceful future through kind words but they won't hear you because they don't care. But they listen to power so I will kill most of them and when they finally understand that no one can stop me, we will achieve what you always wanted my love, a peaceful world."

"Geo..." Ruby tightened her grip on Stormcaller Malice. "I made a promise to protect those who can't protect themselves or their loved ones, no matter the cost." She looked at him with a sad expression. "I...I can't allow you to murder all of those people, so please if you really love me, stop this I beg you." Ruby extended her hand.

"I guess it has to be this way." He turned his back on her, the feeling of treason wasn't new to him. "Well, since you have spoken about promises, I think you also swore to stand against the forces of darkness and hunt down all of the Grimm." Geo turned to her with a serious look upon his face. "Well then, come and perform your duty as a Huntress and slay me if you can!" His massive armored black arms went straight to Ruby, they smashed the ground but failed to hit their target. There were only red petals floating around.

Black flames burned the surrounding area as Geo had released more of his Dark Aura into his new limbs. "Haha! Your speed will mean nothing once I burn this whole region!" Then he noticed a red stream moving at an incredible speed at his left. He launched his arms again but this time Ruby jumped on top of one and jumped again heading towards the young man. He opened his bone-like claw and let out a large dark blast. "Spear of Chaos!" It aimed straight towards Ruby who had both of her hands ready as the blast came at her with ferocious force.

She caught the attack with her hands. Ruby growled to herself as she was pushed back through the air but it didn't manage to bring her all the way down the red girl pushed against the attack and with a yell and a sudden surge of her Aura, she threw it into another direction. Geo grit his teeth as he didn't expected that. Ruby stared up at him before charging at her opponent again, the boy lashed out with his two large armored hands but she avoided them by going under his attack and as she dis so, her right fist was getting ready to smash Geo's face.

"I won't fail this time." She whispered as a few tears were cleaned from her face thanks to the wind. Ruby reached her target and delivered a vicious uppercut, she followed that with a ferocious kick to his stomach, causing saliva to fly from his mouth. She then used her Semblance to go after him, which made Geo smile a little. "What the?" He used his giant arms to pierce the ground and stop him from moving, letting Ruby pass by him and in that moment he punched her ribs. "Ahhh!" She lost her balance and fell into the dirt, rolling across it like a ragged doll.

"This is the first time we are fighting each other isn't it? Asked Geo. "Thankfully, I have watched you train many time so I already know most of your moves. But I have to admit I always wanted to fight with you just to see how really strong you are." His both massive armored black arms began to charge Dark Aura. "I never wanted this but you left me no choice. World Breaker!" Both orbs were thrown towards Ruby.

With the help of her Semblance she jumped high and dodged them, then she unleashed Stormcaller Malice, which caused Geo to laugh because Casterwill weapons can't hurt their original owners. "Please, help me." Ruby closed her eyes. A surge of Red Aura started to surround her body. "I can feel Geo's Aura is still linked with you so please, help me! Crimson Wave!" A large wave of Red combined with Purple Aura was sent towards the young man.

Geo was baffled. "T-That impossible, I-I am linked to that sword it should do what I want..." The incoming completely engulfed him and a large explosion erupted. But unfortunately, one of his big armored arms grabbed Ruby's leg and pulled her to the ground where she slammed with her back quite hard. "D-Dammit! How did she do that?!" He got back up and cleaned the blood from his mouth. "You will pay for that Silver Eyes."

Ruby got back to her feet quickly. "Despite your Dark Aura, I can feel your true Aura is fighting within you, that's why you don't use it because you can't control it anymore." She said with a smile. "I know you don't want to hear this but I think that deep inside of you, you want me to stop you." Hearing that left the young boy even more angry but also confused. "I won't hold back! I am going to save you!" Her silver eyes began to glow and within seconds her body was covered with a faint silver light.

"Lets go then! My justice against yours!" A surge of Dark Aura began to surround his entire figure. Then with amazing speed they clashed violently against on another. This was the second time she was in this form but will it be enough to beat her enemy? "Show me what you are made off!" Each time Ruby's sword clashed with Geo's armored claw a shockwave was released and it was so intense that Augus and Cerviel couldn't approach them. Ruby grit her teeth as she spun her weapon around, slashing at the warrior she was fighting but he managed to block every attack.

"Your power is quite impressive." Said Geo. "I admit that, but it will take more than that!" Ruby narrowed her silver eyes and delivered a kick to his chest but it wasn't strong enough to make him go down so they kept exchanging blows. Then Stormcaller Malice meet its master's armored claw one more time. Both Ruby and Geo's Aura were growing even more, the ground beneath them cracked and black and silver lighting came out from their Auras. "This was fun but like they say, everything good must come to and end."

"I believe in you." Said Ruby. "Even in this horrible moment, I still believe in you even if you don't believe in yourself!" Both Auras grew and grew. "I WILL SAVE YOU NO MATTER THE COST! I LOVE YOU!" She shouted with all heart for everyone to hear the reason she was fighting for. Suddenly, a massive explosion erupted and almost destroyed the entire area. Smoke was everywhere and it seemed some parts of the old fortress were collapsing because of the explosion. The battle was over but who won?

After awhile the smoke cleared a little and Ruby was laid on the ground with her body full with bruisers and cuts, but the worse part was her left leg, her knee was shattered. "...I...I can still f-fight." She coughed blood. Ruby looked around the area for the boy but when she looked at her right she saw Geo a few inches from her.

"...You have made your point." Geo no longer had the big armored arms on his back and his bone-like claw was gone as well. "You are the most stubborn, naive, kind and strongest person I know. Even when I told you those awful things you still believed in me." He smiled. "I guess, I might not be a monster after all."

Ruby smiled. "You were never a monster, to me you are my hero. You were the one who gave me hope when I needed it." Their hands touched. She looked at him with a slight blush on her face, which left him puzzled. "I...I need to hear you say it."

Geo approached her and kissed her. It was a pleasant sensation that they had almost forgotten because of the recent events. Then their lips slowly move away from one another, the warmth from the kiss lingered for a moment. "I love you, Ruby Rose." The girl smiled as tears began to fall. "I'm really sorry about everything. I...I didn't want to hurt you, please forgive me."

"All I care about is that you are back in my arms." She kissed him. After that, the black spider came out from her hood.

"That was quite the ride but at least the boy is back." Said the creature. "Also, have you told him?"

"Oh? What is he talking about?"

Ruby blushed. "Humm, remember that night when we? Well, you know, made love for the first time." Her face was completely red. The young warrior nodded. "Humm, ahh, well...w-we didn't use any protection."

"...That...I..." He couldn't find the words.

"I-Im pregnant." The blush was unbelievable.

Geo stared at her. "...I...I'm going to be a dad..." He touched Ruby's stomach. "Hahaha! I can't believe this, I am going to be a dad. I promise to protect both of you no matter the cost. We are going to be a family."

"Yeah." Ruby smiled. "I love you."

The spider laughed. "Haha! Glad you two are happy, I hope Yang will be glad to know that her younger sister is pregnant. Oh I can already picture her face."

"She is going to kill me..."
