Chapter Thirteen - Shake of Waves
Kakashi household
"Naruto Sasuke gets some sleep, we will be starting missions tomorrow." Kakashi watches Naruto and Sasuke get into their sleeping bags as Kakashi when to his room to do some reading and paperwork.
Leaf Hosptial
Menma limped into Naru's room with Naru and started to wake up covered in bandages "see you finally up Naru." Menam sat at the end of the bed with his arms and legs covered in bandages, Naru tilt her head "what happened to me and you, the last thing I remember was Kakashi passing us" Menma rub his neck "well just say we had a small fight" Naru nods "who won Menma-sensai?" Menma smiles softly "it was a draw" Menma didn't want to upset her.
A few Days Have Passed In Hidden Leaf
Naruto Sasuke and Sakura were running through the village chasing a cat "Naruto, the target should be getting to you." Sakura throws kunai to stop the cat from changing direction as Cat was about to jump the wooden fence "no you don't!" Sasuke jumped on the wooden fence making the cat turn round, Naruto landed on the cat and caught it "got you!" The cat turns to look at Naruto and the cat purr into his check "good work Team Seven?" Kakashi poofed out of nowhere with a wave "let's head to the mission hall and hand over the cat."
Mission Hall
Kakashi and Team seven walked in "team seven reporting in with the cat" Kakashi looked at the fourth Hokage and Iruka "Good work Team seven and we got another D rank mission for you!" Iruka smiles but before Iruka could finish "NO way, no more D rank missions" Cat move to his owner with tears in his eyes, Naruto sitting on the floor mad as Sasuke groan with Sakura facepalming.
"Naruto your not ready for any Higher ranking missions yet!" Iruka used his big head justu "But when will we be ready" Kakashi sighed and muttered to himself "I'm going to hear this later." Minato think about it "Okay we will give you C rank missions, you be escorting the Bridge builder back to his town" Iruka was slightly taken back on forth decision, Minato nods as one of the leaf ninjas brought in the master bridge builder "what are these Kids going to escort me back to my town, even the one in orange?"
Tazuna looked pissed off as he smelled like booze "Dad are you sure he is the master bridge builder?" Minato just nods trying to hide his laugh "so will Dad and Naru going to with us?"
Minato shook his head "no, both of them got a few more days of healing and won't be able to join you on the first leg of your mission." Naruto nods but felt worried that would be the first time in a long time that Naruto won't be near Menma.
Minato cough "Team Seven will leave in the morning so your free tonight."
Team seven left as Tazuna headed to the bar, Kakashi looked at his team "well guys get what you need for the missions and meet at the front gate at 8 am." Kakashi poofed away.
Naruto looked at Sasuke and Sakura "you guys want to get ramen?" Sasuke "sure dope." Sakura smiles "sure Naruto." all three head to Ichiraku ramen.
Leaf Hospital
Menma was reading how to parent a stepchild vol 20 "hmmm," Kakashi open the door with Naru walking in behind you "hey Menam," Naru smiles sitting on Menma's bed "Hey Menma-sensai!" Naru smiles as Menma put his book down "so what up Kakashi?"
Kakashi looked up from his book "team seven going to the land of waves tomorrow and your and Naru standing order is to catch us with us, after being released." Naru nods with Menma looked at Kakashi "what else?" Kakashi could only blink "Naruto seem a little worried" Menma looked at his hands "Could ask Naruto to come and see me?" Kakashi just nods "sure"
Little Later On In Menma Hospital Room
Menma yawned softly putting his book away as Naruto rushed into the room, Sasuke walk in behind Naruto "hey dad!" Naruto hugs Menma as Menma hug his son back "hey Naruto Sasuke, how were the missions today?" Sasuke sat in the chair next to the bed "it was okay nothing that we couldn't handle," Naruto "yeah it was so easy, so dad did you hear we leaving the village tomorrow" Naruto sounded happy but his hands shake little as he pulled away from Menma "what wrong Naruto?" Menma asked grabbing his hand, Naruto looked away slightly "you don't have to worry Naruto you are a braver person and don't need your dad" Naruto nods lightly "plus with your stepbrother, you two will be fine!" Menma grin.
Naruto did a huge cheeky grin "thanks dad," Sasuke slightly rolled his eyes, Menma laughed "okay, Kakashi allow you two to stay home tonight so behave got it!" Sasuke stood back up "I'll watch him" Naruto looked at Sasuke "teme!" Sasuke grabbed the back of Naruto's jacket pulling him out of the room as both said at the same time "have a nice sleep dad."
