Prologue

"Hey! Hey! Cornelius?!"

A whisper echoed through the hazy for that surrounded the young boy, his innocent eyes gleaming with confusion as he looked around. The voice came out of nowhere and the boy knew that he just needs to either pinch himself or count to three to wake up.

"Cornelius!" the same voice whispered again, it sounded closer this time. The little boy has tried to wake himself up, he didn't want to see this dream again. It was always the same dream, every time.

It was more than a dream, it was a nightmare and despite telling his mama and papa about it, they would always tell him to either pinch himself or count to three to wake up.

But it never works, the boy known as Cornelius would have thought that his mama and papa would understand and comfort him but all he got was kind suggestions to wake up.

"There you are, Cornelius," the same voice echoed closely. A familiar silhouette appeared and almost immediately, it memorized the little boy. He didn't feel scared, not like the other times where the dream turned into a nightmare of a field of corpses and the air of death.

This dream was different. But it didn't felt like a dream, it was more like a long last memory. Of something important. The silhouette walked towards him, slender arms reaching out to him, almost like a mother who offered warm hugs.

"I've missed you so, my little star-child…" the voice echoed once again, it sounded almost like…

Then the boy woke up and found himself in the backyard garden of his home. Cornelius was laying on the ground that surrounded several bushes of different shades of colored roses, his mother crouched down to pick him up while the boy's father comes out in a concern state.

"Honey, why were you doing out here? It's cold outside!" the boy's mother said in a concerning voice, it was apparent that they sensed he wasn't sleeping warmly in his bed. Mama and Papa are always like that, like they knew where he was without physically checking.

"Come on, let's go inside. It's way past your bedtime, kiddo," his papa says as they entered their home all while Cornelius tries to stay awake even though he kept on hearing the silhouette woman calling him back again.

The boy's parents never thought that their son could see into his own dreams, it was understandable for their boy to see into other people's dreams but now, they felt guilty of ignoring their son's please of weird dreams and scary nightmares.

But over time, they noticed a change in their son as he spent more time by himself instead of spending his childhood with his cousins and friends. Now, all he could think about is the colorful "ribbons" of gold and silver.

And each night was all the same with Cornelius as with the first time.

As any other parents, they worried for their boy. Despite living in a new era with futuristic advancements in a whole new frontier, the boy's parents knew what Cornelius had and it was not at all strange but what worried them were the dreams. It was unsettling to hear from their son about a woman reaching out to him and pleading to come with her.

It sounded familiar to them but for some reason they couldn't remember.

Hopefully tonight was different, as their friends and fellow scientists had discovered a whole new universe outside of their own which says a lot about this discovery.

Their family friend was going to babysit Cornelius along with her daughter whom their son was very good friends so they had high hopes that tonight he wouldn't have the same dream he's been having.

But how wrong they were.

"Destiny! Destiny! Come here!" his very boyish voice exclaimed excitedly, waving his arms around in a playful manner, earning a sweet smile from the dark-blond haired little girl as she hurries ahead of her best friend.

"Coming, Cornelius! Slow down or you'll hurt yourself!" she warned him before he trips over himself in a classic klutz way, "Owwie, that hurts!" the little boy whimpered.

"I told you to be careful!"

Getting up, the boy dusted off any dirt on his clean clothes and proceeds to shrug off the little fall as if it was nothing, a big smile on the boy's face as he continued to show her the way.

"Come on, I want to show you something!" Cornelius responded back to Destiny. Running through the small maze in the backyard garden until they reached the end of the small trail, a medium sized fountain was placed there and nothing out of the ordinary.

"There's nothing here Cornelius," Destiny answered, she was expecting to see maybe a frog but her friend insisted that it was just here!

"Please come out! I only brought my best friend to see you! She's really nice!" Cornelius exclaimed to something, she guessed.

After hearing her friend's boyish voice call out to whatever he wanted to show her, it appeared.

It was like seeing swirls of two auras with the colors of silver and golden. Almost like two flowy 'ribbons' Cornelius would have told her before. They moved very intimately, as if those two orbs were meant to be together but Destiny guessed that it was waiting to take on physical forms.

Destiny felt Cornelius' hands slipping away from her and walked closer to the glowing stars, almost instantly, she reached out to her friend before he even touched the glowing auras.

"Cornelius!" she yelled out, in her eyes' foresight, she saw her friend floating up in the same way as the glowing auras.

"Destiny? What's wrong?"

"Don't go!"

"Huh?" he answered, slightly confused.

"Promise me that you won't go any near to them!" Destiny begged him, her green-blue eyes gleaming with concern.

"Destiny, they won't hurt me…" Cornelius reasoned with her but she wasn't having it. "It doesn't matter, promise me Cornelius!"

"O-okay then, I promise…" the boy vowed to his friend but it was a weak respond.

"Cornelius! Destiny! Dinner time!" Destiny's mother Amelia called out and the children scurried to the house.

But seeing those glowing auras scared the little girl, she didn't want to lose her best friend and hoped with all of her heart that her friend will stay with her forever.

But even with promises, some hopes and wishes sometimes get broken.

Everything happened so quick.

For both Cornelius' parents and Destiny, it seemed like a nightmare. It was almost like after the discovery of a new universe, everything got very intense.

Cornelius continued to have vivid dreams, some where he is a bit older and some other different place. Others were about a woman with red hair and two people involved with something.

Between personal lives and certain duties, for the boy's parents- it seemed time went by fast. But now they realized that they wish they had time with their little boy.

He should be here! With his beloved mama and papa and their newest addition to the family but he wasn't here!

The grief stricken mother was truly heartbroken, though had given birth to her newborn was beyond happy, moments later to learn that her son has vanished. She wanted to get out of the hospital but she couldn't leave her baby.

Search parties were launched immediately, her husband along with the rest of their closet friends searched for the boy for days on end but to no avail.

One of their scientists friends had detected something from the other universe, "There's a signal!" he exclaimed.

Straightaway, the boy's father arrived first. The exhausted father of two was at his hair's ends as it seen by his friend. "Where?"

"He's in Universe B, I matched his aura and it's him,"

And that was the end for both parents.

.

.

.

Despite being centuries old and still retaining a childlike mind and appearance, Destiny and another good friend Marcus pleaded their parents to let them go and bring Cornelius back.

It was unheard of, what kind of parents were they if they sent their own children to unknown universe on their own! For weeks, the parents has tried entering the portal that their friends had constructed to reach Universe B but it was only one use only.

Seeing how their parents couldn't decide, Destiny and Marcus had no choice but to sneak their way to the portal. They had enough supplies for days and with their go bags, the two friends went off to the other universe, in search of their friend.

The next morning, Destiny's parents approached Cornelius' parents with the note that reads;

Marcus and I have left to the other universe to search for Cornelius. We will return together. I promise. See you soon.

And with that, their journey started. It will take all three friends to return home in the next 900 years.

Their families will wait with hopes in their hearts, silently praying for their children's safety and return.

AN: I have return! With a newly revised version of Guardians: Act One!

First off, I want to thank all five original readers personally because you took the time to read my little story and even though Guardians is very dear to me, I'm glad other people took the chance to read it so thank you.

Second, the reason why I revised Guardians was because I noticed the story was a bit messy and I really want to start over.

And third, in honor for Sailor Moon Eternal, I will post a new chapter each week until January 2021 and since this story revolves Alternate Universes and my OC's, I thought it was fitting to restart now since Guardians: Act One takes place in Silver Millennium. I've been working on Guardians since 2013 and it's been great to finally post my very first fanfiction so I hope new readers enjoy this new version of the First installment of Guardians' Series.
