Ruby walked down the path keeping her energy senses active. If what Blake said was true, then she'd do anything needed to protect her uncle. She shook her head. 'no, Krayix said no killing unless absolutely necessary.' The scarlet toa thought as jaune came up beside her. Due to Ruby's height, the toa of air looked up.

"You really think your uncle will find us?" he asked. Ruby glanced at him before telling him, ren, and Nora a story. "When yang was six, she found a photo which led her to an old shack. I was four at the time and… well let's just say that we were lucky uncle Qrow found us in time."

Ruby suddenly stopped and brought out crescent rose firing off a shot behind them. "Mata Nui!" Jaune said covering his ears "I know you're there, come out now or the next shot will hit you." Ruby said pulling the bolt of her weapon back.

Qrow shook in fright having almost been shot by his niece. "How'd she know that I was behind them?" Ruby narrowed her eyes trying to see who's aura was behind them. "Who is it ruby?" Jaune asked. The scarlet toa of matter smiled recognizing the aura. "I know that's you uncle Qrow. Come on out."

"Ok shortsta.." Qrow said freezing mid-sentence at the appearance of ruby. "Ruby… it that you?" the scarlet toa rubbed the back of her head sheepishly "Yeah uncle Qrow it's me." to Qrow's shock Ruby was eye level with him. "H-h-how are you eye level with me?" he asked. "It's a long story Mr. Branwen." Jaune said. "I'll tell you as we continue walking"

Qrow looked at his niece in shock as jaune explained what transpired ten months earlier and finished with the near fall of beacon. "That's pretty much it." Jaune said. "we're out here looking a friend of our mentor." Qrow furrowed his eyebrows. "Why couldn't this 'Krayix' search for his friend?" he asked. "according to what happened at beacon, Krayix gave up his power to save Ruby's life, so he can't fight all that well." Ren said. "but that doesn't mean that he's defenseless." Nora said grimacing having once sparred with the Turaga once before departing for anima.

"That good huh?" Qrow asked as ruby nodded. "Uh guys?" Jaune said "look." The group of five looked ahead to see a village. Ruby furrowed her eyebrows before looking at the map "that can't be right. There isn't a town on this map" Nora said as they entered it. "Be on guard." Ruby said switching Crescent Rose to scythe mode

Suddenly ruby's eyes darted to the left when she sensed an aura signature rapidly approaching their location. Qrow saw how on edge his niece was. "Ruby you.." he began. "Jaune, cover Qrow's left." The scarlet toa called out. Qrow blinked in shock as the Arc disappeared from view before the sound of metal clashing with metal was heard. Glancing to his left, he saw jaune standing firm against a man with what appeared to have gauntlets with pincer blades. The man was equally shocked at the blonde's speed. "You want Qrow. You're going to have to fight me." Jaune said while his eyes glowed a faint green. "if your death will please my goddess so be it." The man cackled as Jaune sheathed his weapon and got into his air stance while activating his battle gauntlets. Letting out a war cry Jaune charged

The man's eyes widened as Jaune disappeared. He brought up an arm just in time as the Toa Vale of air reappeared. Jaune and the man's forearms collided sending a shockwave of air. The two fought while Ruby analyzed the man. 'he's fast but just fast enough to be on par with Jaune. Wait. Blake said a faunas attacked my uncle.' She thought "Jaune blow his coat off!"

MEANWHILE

"Why, are we still following them Vakama?" The green golem asked his companion. "I told you Matau. That girl with the white cloak somehow reminds me of Krayix." Vakama said as a village came into their view. "Are you sure you aren't cross wired? Krayix is probably long gone by now." Matau said before an explosion was heard and wind began to form a stationary tornado. The toa Metru of fire and toa Metru of air looked at each other and then bolted towards the village

Several minutes earlier…

Jaune leapt back before sending a hurricane-like gust of air sending the man flying into a wall and his coat fluttering away. "Holy shit!" Qrow muttered in shock. 'Guess Short stack wasn't kidding about him having an elemental power.'

"Ruby, he has a tail." Nora said. "A scorpion tail." Ren said as ruby gripped Crescent Rose and grit her teeth. This was the guy Blake warned her about. "Uncle Qrow… stay behind Jaune and I." she said before darting forward her right eye glowing a slight blue before fading.

"So. The huntress with silver eyes wishes to die first. Very well, I'll give you my name. it's Tyrian." The man cackled. "I'm more than just a huntress." Ruby said before leaping at Tyrian as Crescent Rose glowed. Tyrian brought up his pincher blade gauntlets to block the incoming scythe only for them to clash with a red version of Qrow's weapon shocking both combatants and said weapon design's owner.

"What… the... hell just happened?" Qrow asked looking at Ruby's friends. "I don't believe it. She's unlocked her weapon shifting abilities." Jaune said as ruby smirked breaking the deadlock. "If you're more than a huntress then what are you?" Tyrian asked.

"I'm a Toa!" Ruby yelled dashing towards the scorpion faunas dragging her Harbinger against the ground sending sparks flying as she did. The scarlet toa of matter leapt into the air and dove towards Tyrian giving a war cry as her harbinger caught fire. Tyrian's eyes widened at the incoming attack. 'Goddess protect me.' he thought as ruby swung her broadsword.

A/N: a cliffhanger. Oh, I am so evil, but I had to do it. The fight between Ruby and Tyrian has to be a two parter which means there's going to be 3 chapters for team RNJR before we switch to Weiss for two chapters.
