A system degradation warning began blinking on the left periphery of Ziggurat 8's vision.

It was an old warning. His arm had been malfunctioning for months, and there'd been no missions to trade for maintenance and upkeep of his systems. He compensated wherever he could.

He turned his attention to another display: monetary transactions.

He'd purchased a repair kit from a Ziggurat-series compatible supplier, but that had been ten months ago and it still hadn't arrived at its prearranged destination.

Ziggurat 8 closed the display. He hadn't intended to lose his memories through deterioration, but it would have to do.
