Ziggy's Corner: This is my first IGPX story, a short one shot, from Luca's point of view. It is very short, but I hope its really good. Here we go!

A CAT'S LIFE

Some people think that a cat is cursed, his or her life substituted for the companionship of their human partner, or that we go walking around at night, singing, getting into trash cans simply for fun. Sorry, that's not the case. At least it wasn't for me.

Like all cats, when I was born, I couldn't see a thing, nothing but blackness, and then when I could, I was removed from my mother before I be really attached. I sat on the pet shop for what seemed like forever, and then this pretty woman with a fancy white dress (yes we cat's can actually see in color, we just let you humans thing otherwise. Even Amy doesn't know this), came in, said something about her daughter's birthday, and said that she wanted only the best.

Well I don't know about the best, but for luck of the draw, (yep, luck and cats go hand in hand, even the black ones!) I was picked, had a pink bow put on me, for reasons I couldn't imagine, and then put into a small cage.

I was frightened, scared as the woman pulled me into her car, and we road off. It was my first car ride, and I got very car sick. I remember throwing up and hearing upset words from the pretty woman, who called her husband and asked what to do, but he reminded her I was for their daughter, and so she should just grin and bare it.

Two days later, after hiding me at a friend's house, a sweet fourteen year old opened the door, her eyes wide with love and joy, and her body radiating from her warmth. I remember smiling, and knowing everything would be fine from then on. She named me Luca, after some kind of land in a video game that was her favorite, and we were best friends, immediately bonding that I never did with my mother.

When Amy was seventeen, she turned decided that she wanted to try out for racing, despite her parents' worries. At first she wasn't very good, but a contractor approached her and told of her of machinery that could allow her not only to talk with me, but enhance her abilities on the track. She always knew as I did that we shared a connection that no mortal person or animal had, had before.

It took her a while to agree to it, but once we did, Team Satomi soon picked us up, and we found ourselves on the road to glory, fancy cat food, and soon a championship. Oh, and there's the soft pillows for me to lay on, especially Liz's lap or belly, though she seems to have smelly underarms sometimes because she works out so much, but other than that, everything is so well and right, a cat's life you could say. Bring on the new season, I hear that one of the new racers is partners with a canary with an attitude, I'm going to love bringing him down a few pegs.
