Author Note: I can't believe that we are all ready in the month of September 2021. It's also hard to believe that we are in twenty years since 9.11 and it's gone by so fast.

Chapter 5

Steve walked into headquarters after meeting with Catherine to find Danny standing there.

"Hey how did it go?" Danny asked his friend.

"I have been trying to see if Catherine will help me with Lexi. Maybe she can help her figure out what happen. We all know that my mother is behind this." Steve said as he heard his phone go off. He pulled his phone out of his pocket.

"Who is it?" Danny asked his friend. He had a feeling that it was about Doris.

"It's Duke." Steve said before putting it on speaker. "Hey Duke, what is going on?"

"Steve, I got some bad news about your mother. She got into a fight with another prisoner and she got hurt pretty badly. We are taking her to the hospital and it's the same one that Lexi is at." Duke revealed to his friend.

"Okay, We need to put some officers at Lexi's door. I am not taking any chances with my mom. She is going to try to come after me through Lexi. I will not put my wife anymore drama from my mother. I will be there soon." Steve said to his friend before hanging up the phone.

"What happen?" Danny asked his friend.

"I guess that my mother got into a fight with another inmate. She got hurt really badly and now taking her to the hospital." Steve responded to his friend.

"The hospital that Lexi is at?" Danny asked his friend.

"Yeah. I got to go." Steve responded to his friend before walking away from his friend. He knew that he needed to get to Lexi.

"Wait I am coming with you." Danny responded to his friend.

They are five minutes away when they get a call about a shooting at the hospital. Steve put his siren on and rushed to the hospital.

"Steve, you can't go in there." Duke revealed to him.

"I have to get in there. My pregnant wife is in here and she probarly does not know what is going on. There is no one in there to protect her from any danger." Steve said before running into the building.
