Author Note: Before we get started with this chapter, I know that this chapter is a little bit on the shorter side but I have gotten sick yet again. I hope that I feel better soon. I also can't believe that we posted chapter 6 on September 25 and now we are back with another chapter. Even through you won't see this chapter until tomorrow. I can't believe that it's already October and I am hoping that we will have this story done by Thanksgiving. I hope that you enjoy this new chapter. I can't believe that it's almost Halloween. I decided to put the other stories on hold for a little bit until I finish this story.

Chapter 7

"What do you mean that I will find out later?" She asked her boyfriend.

"Well, I am hoping that we can go out and have a date since it's going to be awhile before we have another chance to be together." Steve revealed to her.

"I hate that they did this to our country and now everyone is having to make changes in their lives so they can pay for what they did." She responded to him.

"Me too." Steve said to her as he walked closer to her. "But let me just say this, we will have forever after this is all said and done."

"I know. I just need you to stay safe and not take unneeded risk. I need you with me and so does your father and sister. They already lost your mom and don't need to lose you too. I don't know what I would do if I lost you."

"Thank God that you will never have to." Steve responded to her with a smile before giving her hug.

A few hours later, they loaded up into Steve's truck and drove to dinner where they met with Steve's dad and sister and many of their friends and family. She was surprised when her parents step out.

"Mom?" She said shocked.

"Yes baby girl." her mother responded with a smile.

"What are you doing here?" She asked her mother with a smile.

"You did not think that we would not be here for our daughter's special day." She responded with a smile.

"What are you talking about?" She said before turning around to find that Steve had gotten down to one knee.

"Lexi, I don't want you to think that you are ever going to lose me because I will do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't happen. I know that we have been through a lot but I am so thankful that you have been right by my side. I have a question for you that I am hoping that you will say yes to." Steve started to say to her as everyone looked on.

"Yes, 100 percent yes." She responded to him.

"You don't even know what my question was." Steve joked to her with a smile.

"I have a strong feeling that it is will you marry me with our friends and family watching." She revealed to him with a smile. "Plus your sister is not good with keeping secrets."

"Mare." Steve said to his sister as he looked at her. Truth was that he could not be mad at her when she agree to marry him.

"Hey, don't me mad at me." She said to her brother with a smile.

"I am not mad at you." Steve said to her.

Back to the present

Lexi walked into the room where she could tell that her husband was in deep thought. She sat down next to him.

"Hey what are you thinking about?" She asked her husband with a smile.

"I was thinking about 9/11 and how many people lost their lives and what has happened to us." Steve responded to her.

"Yeah we have been though a lot and are still working on things but that is okay." She responded to her husband. "As long as we stay together."

"We will." Steve responded to her. "Do you want to watch a movie for a little bit?"

"Yeah." She responded to him with a smile.
