Author Note: I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. This chapter is not meant to be posted until early December but I decided to post chapter 8 faster than expected. Here is to the next chapter.

Chapter 9

Steve walked out of the room where he was talking to Joe. He could not believe that Joe was still trying to claim that he was protecting him. He pulled out his laptop and got to work. He was not paying any attention when Lexi walked into the office.

"Steve, are you okay?" She said to her husband as she sat down in front of his desk.

"Yeah, I am fine." Steve lied to his wife.

"No you are not." She responded to him calling him out for lying to her. "You would think for a seal that you would be a better liar."

"How can you tell?" Steve responded to his wife.

"Because I know when you are lying. Steve, what is wrong? You can tell me anything." She said to him as she watched him stand up and walk next to her.

"Joe called and then showed up. He has been trying to get me to meet with my mom. I just know that I can't leave with you this close to giving birth to our child. It's important that I am here for you when you need me the most instead of running after my mom." Steve responded to his wife.

"I see. Steve, I get where you are coming from but we still have another month to go before this baby is born. I need to make sure that you want to be here." She responded to him. "I can tell that your mom is bugging you and what Joe is doing to you is not right. He says that he loves you but it shows that he only loves your mom and his ability to control which is not right." Lexi said to her husband right as Joe walks into the room.

"Lexi, you have no right to say that I want to control Steve." He said to her.

"Joe, who do you think you are to speaking to her like that. I do not care if you think that you have the right because you are my mentor because of right now, she is my wife not you." Steve said to his mentor. "You need to say sorry to my wife right now and then get out of my office."

"I am not going to do that because I have nothing to be sorry for. Lexi was out of line for saying that I wanted to control you." Joe said to him before turning his attention to Lexi. "Let me fill you in on something Lexi, there is a difference between wanting to control Steve and wanting to keep Steve and the baby safe."

"Joe, you are out of line. You need to leave now." Steve said to him. "This not a request, this is me telling you as the leader of Five 0."

"What are you going to do if I don't?" Joe tried to call his buff.

"If you don't leave then I will have you arrested for harassments of me and my wife. I suggest that you go now." Steve said to him.

"Fine, I will go but I will be in touch." Joe said to him before turning to leave. Right when he got to the door. He heard Lexi say something.

"Yeah, you do that because I am sure that my husband will not answer to it." Lexi responded to him. Steve watched as Joe left the office.

"i am sorry about him." Steve said to his wife.

"You don't need to be sorry about him." She responded to him. "Joe is the the only one that needs to feel sorry about this."

"I quite agree." Danny walked into the room. "I am surprised that he can show his face."

"Danny it's going to be okay. We will figure out his plan." Steve responded to him.

"Okay, Let's figure it out with the team." Danny responded to his friend with a smile. He never trusted Joe and there was a good reason. Joe was the reason that Lexi almost lost her husband.

"With me too." Lexi said to her husband and friend.

"Lex, I don't think that it is the best idea for you to be involved with this so close to having the baby." Steve pleaded with his wife. He knew auguring with her is probably not the best idea because she might tell him off but that was part of the risk.

"No one messes with my family. Not even my husband's mentor." She said to her husband. "I am doing it so what is the plan?"

"Right now, we have no plan. We still need to figure one out." Steve said to her before watching her gasp in pain. "Lexi? Are you okay?"

Before she had a chance to answer, she pass out in which Danny and Steve rushed her to the hospital. It took them an hour to find out what is going on with Lexi and the baby.

"Mr. McGarrett, you can follow me and see your baby." The doctor said to him with a small smile.

"Where is my wife?" Steve asked as he got to hold the baby.

"I am so sorry Steve but I took her so you can lead me to my mother. You are lucky that I did not take your baby." Joe said to his friend.

"Joe, you need to bring Lexi back now." Steve said to him. "If you want me to reach out to my mother than you need to make sure that you bring my wife back."

"I will when I am ready to bring her back to you not before son." Joe said to him.

"See that is not how this works." Steve responded to him as Danny walks in with the rest of the team.
