Author Note: It is time for the last chapter of this story. I am trying to get this story finished before Christmas so I can write my Christmas fanfiction. I have decided return to fanfiction full time in December 2021. I am not sure what the schedule will look like. It's time for the final chapter.

Chapter 10

"Joe, listen to me. My wife has nothing to do with this." Steve revealed to his friend.

"Good then you will come with me along with your baby to your mom." Joe said to him.

"Alright fine but only if Lexi comes to." Steve responded to him. Steve was not happy that Joe was using his wife and baby's birth to get him to see his mother but he knew that he needed to get Lexi back.

"That was my plan all along to bring Lexi with us. Steve, I know that you don't want to hear this but I am not the bad guy in this. I just need you to work with me and your mother and not against us." Joe responded to him before adding. "I know that our relationship has been rocky over the past few months since your mother return and you felt betrayed by me. I just want you know that I have always wanted what is best for you."

"I know Joe. I also believe that you want what is best for me and I get that." Steve responded to him but right now I need what is best for my wife and child."

"I get that and don't worry about it." Steve said to him. "Let's go talk to my mother so I can get back to my family who needs me."

"Alright let's get ready to go." Joe responded to him as they got loaded to take home the baby. Steve had managed to get a text out to Danny.

Meanwhile, Danny was walking into the headquarters when he had received Steve's text message.

"Hey guys we got a text message from Steve. Apparently, Joe has kidnapped Lexi in order to get Steve to go with him to his mother's location." Danny said to the team.

"How did he manage that?" Grover asked his friend because he thought that the hospital would have been safe for the family but he guessed wrong.

"I don't know because the doctors ended up taking Lexi back for surgery and the doctors had Steve wait in the waiting room for the birth." Danny responded to him. "Anyways, we need to find Doris and bring her in so that way we control where Joe takes them so we are going to have to do it fast."

"Alright, let's get to work." Grover said to him

About an hour later, they were on their way to where they believe Doris was and found it heavily armed which is not a good thing because they only had a little bit. Steve was able to find a way to leave texts for the team. They barged into the warehouse and managed to find Doris and Lexi standing there.

"Hello, Daniel." Doris greeted him. "I always knew that my son was clever enough to outsmart Joe which is why we took his wife so he would come willing."

"He only agrees to come because Joe took his wife and don't try to say that Lexi would have come willing because we both know that she would not." Danny responded to her.

"Maybe you are right but it looks like my son and Joe have just pulled up. I am ready for a little family reunion without my son's team around. So if you don't mind leaving." Doris said to him.

"Oh no she did not just tell me that we need to leave." Gover said to his friends. "She has best know that Steve is our best-friend and we will do anything for him, Lexi and the baby."

Right before Danny had a chance to answer back to Gover, Steve walked into the room with Joe and the baby.

"Lexi, are you okay?" Steve asked his wife.

"Yeah, I am okay. I just want to come home with you and the baby. Is the baby okay?" She asked her husband.

"Yeah, our baby is okay. What do you want Doris?" Steve responded to his mom.

"I need your help with catching someone and then I will be gone forever. It's clear to me that you and Lexi do not want me to be in your lives." Doris responded to him.

"It's good that you finally got that clear." Danny said to her.

"Why are you even here?" Joe asked him. "This is for our family and last time that I check-"

Steve hit Joe in the face before Joe had a chance to finish. Lexi walked over to her husband to make sure that his hand was okay.

"You don't get to talk to Danny like that when he has been more than a friend to me in the past few years. You have done nothing but lied to me as long as I have known you to protect my mom from whatever made her fake her death." Steve stated to his fromer friend.

"Steve, we were both trying to protect your father and sister." Joe said to him.

"Yeah, well look how that turned out. Mary doesn't want anything to do with our mom and my father is gone." Steve responded to him.

A few hours later, Steve and Joe helped his mother with the case. Steve and the rest of the team returned back to the McGarrett house.

"This was not the homecoming that I had for our child." Steve said to Lexi.

"I know but it's okay." Lexi responded to him. "What matters is that we are all safe and sound. For now we need to be a family and never let anyone come between us again."

"Yes." Steve said to her. "I am glad that we fought our way back together."

"Me too." Lexi responded to her husband with a smile.
