Oh My God
At September the first he had packed his and Izzy's bags. He had still managed to keep Izzy's presence hidden from the rest of the world.
"Alright Izzy, in public we'll be cousins, remember?" he said for the hundredth time.
"I got it Harry."
"Good. I love you."
"I love you too!" said Izzy at once.
Vernon drove them to Kings cross and from there Harry had to managed on his own like he always had to. Harry took Izzy's hand in his as they entered 9 ¾ through the stone wall. Harry had dressed Izzy in a red sweater today so he could easily spot him if they ever got apart in the crowd, not that he thought that it would happen but as a father he had to take all things in consideration.
This year he didn't wait for Ron and Hermione. Instead he took an empty apartment.
"May I have a chocolate frog?" Izzy asked him.
"Of course."
Harry had told him about the magical world and he had taught him more or less of everything he knew. He had taught Izzy to play exploding snap for example.
"Baby sitting Potter?"
"Hello Malfoy," he said uninterested.
"You won't make it this year!"
"Same news every year, isn't it? Butt gee, here I am!" he said calmly, mostly to calm Izzy who was starting to get upset. The child could recognise a threat when he heard one.
"Who's that?" Malfoy asked with narrowed eyes when he watched Izzy who glared at him in return.
"My cousin," said Harry and knowing that if he told Malfoy the whole would know it by short.
"It's not. Dudley are fat," Malfoy stated.
"I don't know how you know Dudley and I don't care but you shouldn't state things you don't know about Malfoy. Get out or I'll hex you!" he said and waved his wand threateningly.
"You won't be so cocky later Potter!" said Malfoy and left.
After a while Cho Chang came.
"Hi Harry. Can I sit here?" she asked and sat down without waiting for his answer.
Izzy wrinkled his nose. Harry hide a smile by looking down. Izzy had a good taste. He didn't like Cho either, not anymore.
"Well, I'm waiting for Neville, Luna, Ron and Hermione."
"That's OK. We'll all fit."
"And I'm here," Izzy pointed out hurriedly.
"What are you doing here? You're too young!" she said.
"He's here with me, is there a problem?" Harry said coldly.
She blushed.
"No. Er, why is her here with you?"
"He's my cousin and I rather not discuss it."
"You know, I forgot something... I promised to sit with my friend... Oh yeah, I'll see you around," he said and hurried outside.
Harry frowned after her. What did she expect by coming here? A snog session?
"I don't like her," Izzy stated.
"Who does?" he said.
After a while Neville and Luna came. Neville had another plant this year. But thank god, it only glowed in the dark. Luna was her usual loony. Ron and Hermione talked a lot about their summer while Harry said as little as possible about his.
Harry smiled sourly when he saw that Gryffindor was – 50 points in the Great hall. Snape had kept his promise.
A lot of people were curious about Izzy. Even the professors stared at him. Why wouldn't they?
"Harry, is that glaring git Snape?" Izzy whispered.
Harry looked up and met Snape's gaze.
"Yes it is. Watch out for him, remember what I told you," he said warningly.
Izzy nodded gravely and he looked so cute!
The days passed by. Everyone accepted Izzy and was used to him by now. They liked him even if he didn't talk much. He kept himself close to harry which by the way had a lot of rumours running around him.
Mostly because of that he had changed his look.
Harry was letting Izzy wander around in the castle and do whatever he liked. Just like this evening during dinner.
"Hi Harry. Where's Izzy?" Hermione asked.
"I'm not sure. But he can't be far away," he said.
Ron was about to say something when a barking dog interrupted him.
It was Rius. He was allowed by Dumbledore.
Rius jumped around and ran to Harry. He was obviously happy. After a while an over excited Izzy came running inside the hall.
"DAD! DAD! Mum's here!" he yelled clearly as he ran across the hall.
There was a dead silence while Izzy ran into his arms. Harry lifted him up. He was already given away but he didn't care about it.
"Is mum here, really? Where?" he asked.
He let Izzy down again.
Izzy jumped up and down in excitement.
"She's coming!" he shouted and giggled a little. He was so charming.
"IZZY!" a woman shouted.
Soon after Amy burst in. She stopped.
"Oh sorry Harry but he slipped away from me," he said.
"It's alright," Harry said and smiled. He went and kissed her."Mum, dad! Guess what?"
"What Izzy?" they both said at the same time.
"Everyone is looking at us... oh shit, I gave us away!" he said horrified.
"It's alright kiddo. We would have been exposed sooner or later," Harry assured him.
"Can I call you dad now? No more Harry?" Izzy asked thoughtfully.
"Why, sure!"
"Yeey!" Izzy shouted.
Amy laughed.
"Rius! Come here!" Amy shouted at the dog. Rius came and jumped on her. Amy scratched him and said hi.
"Are you hungry?" Harry asked Amy.
"I'm starved!" she said. "I haven't been home and I didn't buy any food on my way here."
"Where have you been?" he asked.
"Secret love!" she said.
"Awww! Come on! Tell me!" he said and kissed her again.
"Later," she promised.
He nodded.
"Aright! I give up." He sat down again. He helped Izzy to take food. Amy sat down on his right side.
"Mum, dad seez I can't have ice cream! Can I have it?" he asked and gave Amy his sweetest look.
"Well..."
"No you can't Izzy. We've been through this before. Only on Sundays!" Harry said sternly.
"Dad's right. Or else you wont have any teeth left," said Amy.
"You're so mean!" Izzy complained.
Harry rolled his eyes.
"Yeah right. Who have you candy last evening?"
"Besides that!"
"Who gave you a snitch yesterday?"
"Stop destroying my whining!" Izzy said and sulked.
Amy and Harry laughed.
"Mum, dad, when do I get my little brother?"
Their laugher got stuck in their throats and they began to cough violently.
"Come on! I can't be that bad! I'm sure you can handle one more!"
Harry glared but Izzy was unaffected.
"Pleasepleasepleaseplease???"
"NO!" they both said with force.
"Besides, you got Rius!" Amy pointed out.
"I can't beat him up!" Izzy smiled.
"Izzy... you're hopeless," Harry sighed.
"You're the one who raises me!" Izzy shrugged.Harry banged his head against the table and groaned.
Amy on the other hand laughed.
"Nice kid we've got! I think he's spent to much time with you of late," she said.
"Do you stay then? You can sleep in my bed," he offered.
"Yeah right. I'm not that interested to see naked boys so I sleep in the boys dorm."
"I know, I'm your one and only!" he teased.
Amy stuck her tongue out at Harry.
"Sometimes you're so immature mum," Izzy told her.
