Hello again, everyone!
I'm back with a new chapter for Grime and Day, and it's the one you've all been waiting for! Yes, it's the 'TOADCATCHER' episode! This standout and important episode from season two of Amphibia kicks off Ethan and Grime's arc throughout the rest of the season, which comes to its culmination in the final episode 'True Colors.'
Now, I don't know about the rest of you all, but watching the final episodes of season two, and THEN 'True Colors' after the whole craziness of it's release date... I was amazed and shocked, to say the least. I CANNOT wait until season three starts later this year, and the episodes with Sasha and Grime in them gave me plenty of ideas for my future chapters.
Which reminds me: from now on, a spoiler warning is in place for this story, since some of what I talk about in the upcoming chapters will lead to future episodes that I have not written about yet. So, if you haven't watched the rest of the second season, be warned of spoilers in this and other chapters [including in the author notes before and after each chapter!]!
So, without further ado, here is the official 'Toadcatcher' chapter! Enjoy!
Toadcatcher
Ethan POV:
Ethan had no idea why he had set up the practice dummies to look like Anne and her frog friends, but he did not take them down.
He had made several dummies out of squashes and other plants he had found in the garden to practice his attacks on. While he had not intentionally meant to make the dummies look like anyone, they had somehow turned into his former friend and those annoying frogs she had allied herself with. It was as if he were back at the top of Toad Tower, ready to face her again, and like last time, Sasha was not there.
They were at the end of a makeshift obstacle course he had mapped out for himself through the forest. He was running through it right now, jumping small ravines and swinging on tree branches and hopping on toadstools as he made his way back towards the old mill. When he landed outside the small hut, he instantly attacked the three dummies that looked like the frogs. Then, he turned to the one that looked like Anne, the memories of that night at Toad Tower hitting him like a ton of bricks.
"Ethan, are you crazy?"
"Very impressive Ethan!"
"Maybe you can bear to live without him, but I can live with it!"
"You're still the pathetic nerd everyone knows you are!"
"I win!"
"NOOO!"
"ETHAN!"
"ANNE! I'm slipping! I'm-"
Roaring with rage, Ethan ran and kicked the Anne dummy aside, sending it sprawling to the dirt. He then drew his sword, pointing it at the fallen dummy as he breathed heavily. Seconds later, he dropped his sword, looking at his hands with shock.
"What's wrong with me," he whispered, turning away and holding his head in his hands, determined not to cry.
His feelings about what had happened at the Tower and what his relationship with Anne was like a chaotic storm of confusion and mixed-feelings that was constantly swirling inside of him. While they had not been friends before, they were probably enemies now. Him killing Sasha had been an accident, but he doubted Anne would forgive him so easily, or even believe him if he were to tell her it was an accident. He wanted to forget what had happened, but it was kind of hard to ignore that fact that out of the four people who ended up in this world [he assumed Marcy was here, somewhere else in Amphibia], there were now only three. If only Anne had just listened to him instead of Sasha and those stupid frogs… That, coupled with the fact that he had been here in Amphibia for four months, and was no closer to finding a way back home.
Deep breaths, Ethan thought, taking several gulps of fresh air, slowly calming down. Keep calm… You're fine.
"Yo Grime," he finally called out. "How… How was my form on that last kick?" When the toad in question did not reply, the teen turned to find an empty overturned bucket by the building. His anxiety was instantly replaced with annoyance; Grime had promised to at least watch him train and point out flaws in his technique, but it was clear that he had not followed through. Picking up and sheathing his sword, he briskly strode towards the mill.
"Grime?" He opened the door. "Are you in- Seriously?!"
Grime was seated on one of the sacks of flour, watching Suspicion Island on the teen's phone, completely focused on his show. He was currently eating some snack made of bugs, with a small pile of them sitting on his stomach, and he darted his tongue out to eat one. It was one of the most disgusting things the teen had ever seen, and he could not believe how much the captain had changed in about a month.
"But Randy," the woman was saying on the show, "I think you're suspicious!"
"Nooo!" There was the sound of an explosion, and the toad laughed with glee.
"Randy too," Grime asked, chuckling a little. "Everyone really is suspicious!" He looked up, finally noticing the teen. "Hey, what's up, Ethan?" Ever since he had started to watch this show, the toad captain's speech had gotten more… mainstream, in a way, and less authoritative, which somehow infuriated Ethan more.
"Oh, I'll tell you what's up," the boy said, snatching his phone off the overturned barrel. "You're sitting here binge-watching trash TV all day when we're supposed to be training!" He grabbed a nearby wanted poster and showed it to the captain. "What are you gonna do when someone comes to collect the big, fat price on your big, fat head?"
Right on cue, two cloaked figures broke in through the nearby windows, landing on either side of Ethan with swords drawn. Instantly drawing his sword, the human attacked the nearest toad before turning and blocking a blow from the other one.
"Grime, help me take these guys down," the human called, blocking an attack from the other attacker.
"Hhmph," Grime grunted, reaching for his sword, which was a few inches away from his hand. "Nah, you've got this."
Ethan groaned, lowering his sword and pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Okay, guys, that's enough," he sighed, sheathing his sword. The two cloaked amphibians crashed into each other, landing in a tangled heap on the floor. Their hoods fell down, revealing Percy and Braddock.
"Aw, man," Percy said sadly, "I landed on my favorite horn!" He pulled a small horn from beneath his cloak, honking the horn sorrowfully.
"Percy? Braddock?" Captain Grime got to his feet, a bewildered look on his face. "Why were you…"
"Ethan thought a little action might help you get out of your rut," Braddock explained, a kind smile on her face as she and Percy stood up. Grime gaped at Ethan, then turned back to the two soldiers.
"So you staged this attack," the one-eyed toad asked, a frown coming onto his face as his voice became angrier. "Sounds like you two belong…"
Percy and Braddock whimpered, and Ethan grinned as he started to see traces of the Old Grime again. Now, the captain was going to punish the soldiers or admonish them for their behavior; sure, the two toads looked scared of whatever punishment was about to befall them, but the teen figured it was a small price to pay if Grime returned to normal.
"On SUSPICION ISLAND," Grime finished, grinning widely and pointing at the two toads.
You've got to be kidding me, Ethan thought, groaning and face-palming himself while the three toads laughed at the captain's joke.
"Hey, you guys wanna join me," Captain Grime asked. "Season's just getting good!"
"Aw, heck nah," the teen snapped, grabbing Percy and Braddock by the back of their cloaks and pushing them towards the front door. He handed them a few coins. "You two go into town and get some food or whatever. I need a word with Captain Grime. Alone!"
"M'okay," Braddock said, she and Percy turning and running down the hill. "Suits us!" The two toads quickly ran into the woods, cheering and laughing as they headed towards the nearby town. A frown on his face, Ethan turned back to Grime.
"Whaaat," the toad asked, holding up his hands and shrugging. "Oop! Beetle fingers!" He quickly licked the orange grease off his fingers, his tongue slurping back into his mouth. "You were saying?"
"Look at you! You're a mess," the human said, gesturing to the toad. "What happened to the Grime I used to know? The one who never lolled around and was cruel and sadistic and taught me to be the same?"
Captain Grime groaned, sitting down on a nearby flour sack. "He's gone! Ever since Newtopia branded me a traitor, I don't see the point anymore!"
"So you lost control of the valley and abandoned your post and now you're a fugitive. That doesn't mean we should give up!" He grinned evilly. "We can still put those frogs back in their place and reclaim what's ours!"
The toad gave a harsh laugh. "Us and what army? All but two of my soldiers have abandoned us! We can't possibly retake the valley!"
"Oh, so that's it then," Ethan asked, shocked that the toad who had infuriated and broken him and then built him back up as a tougher, meaner person was now as wimpy as he used to be. "You're just gonna sit here and do nothing?"
"Do nothing? Hello!" Grime gestured to his face. "I've been growing this beard!"
"Yeah, don't remind me," the teen muttered, watching with disgust as the toad reached into his greasy beard and pulled out a Bog Grog, popping the top with a claw.
"Look, Ethan, don't worry about it," the one-eyed toad said. "I may be a little out of shape…" He dumped the contents of the drink down his throat. "... but I'm sure I can lick whoever Newtopia sends after me." He crumpled up the can, ate it, and then let loose a loud, room-shaking burp that blew the human's hair back.
"You better be right about that," Ethan muttered, making a mental promise to never let himself go when he grew up.

Later on, Ethan had convinced Captain Grime to at least sit outside and watch him train so he could critique him. While the toad grumbled about not being able to finish his show, he sat down near the front door as Ethan went over to pick the dummies back up. He figured that, if he wanted to get the old Grime back, he needed to remind him of what a leader of the Toad Army was supposed to act like. He needed to be cruel, strong, and not take crap from anyone.
"Okay, so first of all, this beard and burping situation… UNACCEPTABLE," Ethan snapped, pointing a warning finger at the toad. Grime groaned a little, rolling his eyes a little. "Secondly-"
The human's thought was cut off as a strange whistling noise filled the air. It was an eerie sound that seemed to make his heart rate quicken, and he quickly stood up, looking towards the source of the noise. At first, he could see nothing but trees, but soon, a lone figure walked out of the trees, whistling with a sadistic grin on her face.
It was a newt, a female one. She had bright pink skin, and spikey blonde hair; her armor was in pristine condition, and with the hard expression on her face, the teen had the feeling that she was not someone he wanted to mess with. And, given the number of medals on her lapel, she had won many battles, and was probably a general.
"Who's that," Ethan asked as Grime got to his feet.
"Oh crud," the toad whispered. "That armor… She's Newtopian military for sure." The teen put his hand on the hilt of his sword, watching the strange amphibian warily.
"I found you at last," the newt said, a somewhat deranged smile on her face.
"Who the heck are you," the human demanded.
The stranger sighed exasperatedly. "All right. Third time today; let's do it!"
Third time, Ethan thought, inferring that she had introduced herself to someone else before hand. And seeing that they were in an abandoned mill in the middle of a forest, she must have talked to someone that had let slip where they were… namely Percy and Braddock. Idiots.
"I am General Yunnan," the newt announced in a dramatic voice, striking a heroic pose. "Scourge of the Sand Wars, Defeater of Ragnar- Wait! You're Grime?! The fiercest fighter of the colosseum?"
The general's abrupt question made the human turn to Grime, who was currently downing another Bog Grog. It took everything within the kid to not smack the drink out of the captain's hand and drag him all the way to Newtopia himself.
"Yep, that's me," the toad replied, wiping his mouth on his arm. "You here for my autograph?"
"Nope. I'm hear for your HEAD!" Two blades shot out from each of the gauntlets Yunnan wore on her wrists, as if she were Wolverine or something. This new look only made her look more deranged, and the teen's breath hitched momentarily as he suddenly realized how deadly of an enemy this was; more deadly than Bog and the bandits, and they had nearly killed him.
"Well, that took a dark turn," Captain Grime said, looking shocked and a little frightened.
"Some general you are," Ethan scoffed, trying not to show how scared he was. "Where's your army?"
"I had an army," the newt replied casually.
The next thing the human knew, General Yunnan became a whirl as she slashed her arms around her. Seconds later she stopped, breathing heavily as the two dummies of Anne and the small pink frog collapsed into tiny pieces, and several nearby trees fell to the ground.
"They slowed me down," the newt growled, grinning like some horror movie killer looking for blood.
"Oooh-kay," Ethan said, slowly turning to face Grime as a bead of sweat appeared on his forehead. "We're leaving now!"
He grabbed the one-eyed toad by the arm, pulling him away from the mill and General Crazy. Soon, they were running through the woods, not stopping to look behind them and hoping that the newt's armor was slowing her down as they ran for their lives.
"Just my luck," Grime yelled, running a few feet behind the human. "They sent some psychotic glory hound after us! We'll never-" He let out another burp, his breathing heavy as he tried to keep the pace up. "-escape her!"
"Like heck we won't," Ethan yelled back. "Follow me!"
He jumped into a small ravine, hopping across the many toadstools to get across quicker. On the last one, he did a double flip in the air, landing on the other side with such perfection that he wished his gymnastics coach could have seen it. Turning behind him, he saw the squat captain struggling to jump up and grab a vine, panting heavily as he did so.
"Just give me a minute," he gasped, his hands on his knees as he panted for breath.
I hate him so much, Ethan thought, groaning and running back across the small ravine and grabbing the toad's arm, pulling him across the ravine. Reaching the other side, he climbed up first, then with some effort, pulled the captain up after him.
"Couldn't we take an easier route," Captain Grime complained, still somehow catching his breath.
"Maybe if you had trained with me once in a while, you'd be prepared for a situation like this," the teen snapped, pushing a branch out of the way as he continued to run. A few seconds later, he heard a smack and a yelp as the branch hit the toad in the face, followed by an angry growl.
"ENOUGH," Grime yelled, sounding like his old self for the first time in weeks, snapping the branch and running after the human with renewed energy. "At least be honest about why you've thrown yourself into your training!"
"What are you talking about," Ethan asked, flipping off the edge of an overturned log, landing on the ground. The toad was not as agile, falling off the log and landing on the ground.
"Hello," the captain said, getting back up. "It's a distraction! You're using it to keep your mind off the real reason you're upset!" The sound of trees crashing to the ground reached their ears, and they continued to sprint through the trees.
"Look, I know why I'm upset," the human said impatiently, his annoyance and fear growing as they ran for their lives. "I'm upset because I lost the duel at Toad Tower! Aka the biggest fight of my life!"
"Oh, please," Captain Grime said, chuckling a little as the two of them finally came to a stop. "You're not upset because you lost a fight! You're upset because Sasha embarrassed you, that you pushed her off that tower, and that Anne took her side once again! You're upset that you destroyed any chance of being friends with that girl again, and you're upset that you're now a murderer even though you didn't want to kill her!"
Ethan was not staring at the toad, instead fixated on a nearby tree as his hands shook and his face grew pale. Well, he had wanted Grime to go back to being his old self and start acting like a captain again, and he had gotten his wish; the toad's words were as sharp as a sword, and had pierced the teen right in his very heart and soul. Sure, he had told the captain about his relationship with Anne and Sasha that night at Toad Tower, but he never expected the toad to put all the pieces together so accurately. Especially after a month of binge-watching trash TV all day [then again, Suspicion Island did tend to make one think more and suspect others, so maybe it had made the toad smarter].
"You… don't know what you're talking about," the teen finally whispered, starting to run again.
"Ethan, look out!"
Only too late did the teen see that he was about to run off the edge of a cliff, and he was fortunate that Grime had grabbed his arm and pulled him back in time. Looking down, they saw a waterfall streaming down to a river far below, and while they were desperate to get away from the newt bounty hunter, they did not want to risk a fall from that height.
"Ooh, that's a long way down," the toad captain said.
"Looks like our only option is to make a stand," Ethan said, turning back towards the nearby line of trees and drawing his sword.
"No, our only option is for you to get out of here," Grime replied.
"What?"
"She only wants me! Go! Save yourself!"
The human stared at the toad in shock, surprised to see the Old Grime in front of him, but not comprehending the words he was saying. Grime had always taught him that you needed to look after yourself first, and if others got hurt in the process, to not care about it. Now, the toad was actively putting his life aside so he could get away, and the teen could not understand why.
He also used my first name just now, the boy realized.
"Now," the one-eyed toad continued, a furious expression on his face. "Before it's too late! What are you waiting for?! Get going! Leave me! No!"
Ethan shook his head, lowering his sword.
"Listen," he said, struggling to keep himself from breaking down. "There's another reason why I've been training so hard. To protect the one person I know I can count on right now… You."
Captain Grime's face blanked, and had the situation been different, the teen would have found the look hilarious.
"You… You're right," the human continued in a slightly shaky voice. "I already lost one friend, and k-... killed Sasha, and I don't know if Anne will ever forgive me or not, or if I'll even see her again! I don't even know if there's a way home, and I'm starting to wonder if I may be stuck here forever. But I'm not about to lose another friend, especially after all you've done to make me stronger and more confident in myself."
"... Wow," the toad said simply. "I… did not see that coming."
"Ah!" The two looked up to find General Yunnan standing a few yards away, a triumphant and sinister grin on her face. Instantly, Ethan raised his sword and stood in a defensive stance, a hard expression on his face.
"I see you have decided to submit to the great General Yunnan," the newt said, striking another pose. "Scourge of the Sand Wars, Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched, the youngest newt ever…"
"Uh, do you have to do this every single time," the teen asked, almost impatient to get this fight over with, as well as annoyed at the general's prideful demeanor.
"Honestly, yes. Repetition helps it stick." Yunnan turned to Grime. "All right, you washed-up slob. Time to go."
"Hey! Only I can call him that," the human snapped, now running forward to attack the newt. However, he had not taken into account that she had a tail, and it whipped around, hitting him in the chest and throwing him into a nearby boulder.
"Lieutenant," Captain Grime shouted, a furious expression coming onto his face as he shot his tongue at a nearby tree, snatching a club-sized stick as he turned to the newt. "If you want me, General, you'll have to fight both of us!" Ethan stood up, hoisting his sword as the two stood together, ready to face the newt.
"Why not," the amphibian asked, the small claw-like swords reemerging once again. "Two heads are better than one!"
There was a brief pause as the three individuals faced one another, a chilly wind blowing down from the mountain.
"Welcome back, Captain," Ethan said, grinning a little.
"Thank you, Lieutenant," the toad replied, "for reminding me that I've still got something worth fighting for." There were a few beats of pause, and then- "I'm talking about our friendship. Not sure if you copied-"
"I got it! Now come on!" And with a collective yell, the two of them ran forward to attack.
General Yunnan jumped incredibly high in the air, much higher than Ethan or Grime could jump, landing behind the teen. Gasping, he whirled around and his blade met her steel claws. Another hit from her pushed him back, and she spun around to attack Grime. The toad managed to defend himself, but seconds later, his stick had been cut to pieces, leaving barely enough for him to hold in his hands.
"Oh nuts," he muttered, and the newt kicked him in the chest, knocking him to the ground.
"You are gonna look good stuffed," Yunnan said, coming in for the kill. However, Ethan attacked again, kicking her back as the two of them started to fight one-on-one.
In one of the teen's favorite books, Ender's Game, the main character Ender had this one big fight against another student in the bathroom at the Battle School, one that was a matter of life and death, and both participants knew it. Ethan wondered if this was what Ender must have felt like as he blocked, parried, attacked, dodged, and essentially did his best to stay alive. The newt general was good, but soon, he started to get the upper hand, and seconds later, he shattered two of her smaller blades in one swoop of his sword.
"Well that can't be good," she said, managing to bring up her other blades in time to block the human's next attack.
"Ha! Are you struggling," Ethan asked, smirking at the newt's worried expression. "Didn't think you'd meet your match out here, did you?
He saw General Yunnan look down, and a second too late, Ethan realized what her plan was. Her tail wrapped around his leg, pulling it out from under him and sending him tumbling to the ground. His sword flew from his grasp, and as he sat up, he found the two blades inches away from his throat. Behind him, the edge of the cliff showed that he had nowhere to run, and any attempts to get his sword would end up with him becoming a shish kebab.
Dammit, he thought, glaring up at the newt's smug face. What was he gonna do now?
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Grime slowly sneaking up behind the general, and the toad held a finger to his lips, indicating for him to be quiet. Realizing what the toad had in mind, a small smile came to the boy's lips.
"Shoot. What did you say your name was again," Ethan asked, feigning ignorance. "I forgot."
The newt general looked positively furious, yet she once again launched into her spiel.
"I am General Yunnan," she declared. "Scourge of the Sand Wars, Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched ,the youngest newt ever to be made-"
Her monologue was cut short as Captain Grime, with a loud yell, pushed her from behind and sent her flying over the edge of the cliff. Ethan quickly got up and looked over the side, seeing that she was headed for the water below.
"Hope you can swim," the toad captain called.
"This cannot be," the newt yelled as she fell into the water below. "I am General Yunnan!" The rest of her name was cut off as she landed in the water, bobbing to the surface a few moments later.
Thank God, the teen thought.
"Oh, yeah," the human yelled down to her. "Well, I'm Ethan Day! Captain of the St. James Middle School Sci-Fi club, top scorer in my gymnastics team, and First Lieutenant to Captain Grime!
"And I am Captain Grime," the one-eyed toad yelled. "Drinker of Bog Grog, grower of beards, and watcher of Suspicion Island!"
"What? Those titles are weak!" But the newt's complaints were diminished as she quickly floated down the river, soon out of sight.
"YEAH," Ethan and Grime shouted, quickly chest-bumping one another before the toad let loose an earth-shaking roar that ended with a small burp.
"I am FIRED UP," the toad captain yelled, back to his former self at last. "Forget retaking the valley, forget serving the kingdom at all!" He turned to Ethan with one of his evil grins, the ones that used to upset the human, but now made him grin as well. "How about you and I raise a frog dang army and storm the capitol? It's high time a toad ruled this world for a change."
"That's what I'm talking about," the teen cheered, all open for the idea of taking over a small country.
"But before we take over the world…"
The teen's grin faded, and he sighed a little. "You totally want to binge the rest of Suspicion Island."
Captain Grime smiled. "I really do!" Laughing a little to himself, he quickly ran off in the direction of the mill, read to binge-watch the next four seasons.
Ethan turned to look back out at the scene before him. More forest lay beneath him, and distant mountains rose into the sky, and the setting sun cast a warm glow over the land. It was a picturesque and beautiful scene, and the teen smiled a little as he looked out at it, but his smile faded as he thought back to Grime's words from earlier, and his own conflicted feelings that had plagued him since his last night at Toad Tower. All the words and thoughts and emotions started to swirl within him again, but this time, it all came together in one perfect moment of clarity.
Anne… Anne had never been a friend to him, he suddenly realized. She had chosen to go with Sasha to the beach instead of his thirteen birthday. The birthday she knew he wanted her to be at, because his mom had promised him that they could watch a PG-13 movie and stay up late and eat pizza. Why was he still agonizing about her forgiving him and being friends with her again when he had someone who willingly fought by his side and saved him from certain death? Besides, Grime treated him like an equal, unlike Maggie and the other bullies back at school who had made fun of his geeky likes and his gymnastic skills. Grime cared about him, and wanted him to succeed and become stronger and not take crap from anyone. Suddenly, the events at Toad Tower seemed less… traumatic, and more like something out of his science-fiction books. While thinking about it made him uncomfortable, it no longer filled him with dread, and he had a feeling that he would not have any nightmares that night.
"Looks like I've got my own path now, Anne," he said. "But it's not over between us…" He felt the small cut on his cheek, the one he had received from her sword, and one of Grime's evil grins came onto his face. "Not even close."

Valeriana POV:
Valeriana was busy making a concoction, stirring the mixture in the pot as she thought about the past few months.
Her order had been protecting the secrets of the magical stones and the three temples for centuries, and while she was one of the last of its members, she did not let this fact bother her. The one-armed salamander had pretty much seen and heard everything there was to see in this world, as well as a few things from other worlds; there was little she did not know or concern her at this point in her life.
Except for one thing. Well, four things, technically.
Months earlier, Valeriana had sensed some sort of disturbance in the middle of the night, waking her from her sleep. Quickly, she had gone over to the hidden room in her hut, taking a small stone from its hiding place and using her wand to tap into its power. Minutes later, she straightened up, her mind racing furiously.
"Four," she had whispered. "Why not three?"
But the salamander's magic had not failed her; there were four new individuals in Amphibia, meaning she had to keep an eye on them.
She had met two of them in person, when they stumbled upon her Bazaar stand one day. One of them in particular seemed like they would fit the description of the Heart stone, but she was not certain yet; a test would be in order for the one they called Anne. The third was in Newtopia, and too far for her to check up on. The fourth had ended up with the toad army, and she had spied on him from afar every now and then, observing this boy as he grew stronger and crueler.
Valeriana had decided that, if one of the kids did not belong, it would have to be the boy. Besides being a different gender from the others, he had a certain… she could not explain the aura she got from him, but while Sasha had some darkness inside her, his was growing much more rapidly as he spent more time with the toad army. If Sasha had ended up there instead… she could only imagine what the girl would have ended up like. Though Sasha's time in the small frog community seemed to be changing her for the better, if Leander's scouting missions were 100% accurate.
Speaking of Leander…
"Awake," the parrot-like creature squawked, flying out of the adjoining room. "Awake!"
"I heard you the first time," Valeriana snapped, pouring the mixture into a small bowl and carrying it into the adjoining room. She saw that her ward was finally awake, after nearly a month of being unconscious; the salamander had used her magic to keep the human alive as she slept.
"Hey… I know you," the creature called Sasha mumbled, rubbing the back of her head as she looked around with confusion. "Where am I?"
"Eat first," Valeriana said, holding out the bowl and spoon to her.
"Anne… Where's Anne?! And Ethan-" The girl frowned. "He pushed me off that tower! He-" She looked down at herself. "How am I still alive?! How-"
"Hush," the salamander ordered, her eyes narrowing slightly. "You've been asleep for nearly a month, and there's much you need to be caught up on. But first you eat; then I'll talk."
Okay! Mentally preparing myself for the craziness that will no doubt appear in the review section of this story!
Yes, Sasha is alive. HOO-RAY! The decision to bring her back was at the back of my mind for a while, but it was not until I watched the last few episodes of season two that I realized how she needed to be there. Suddenly, ideas for future chapters with her and Ethan in it came to mind, and I knew that she could not have died. So, I brought her back.
Now for those of you wondering how the heck she survived being shoved off the tower and how she ended up with Valeriana... I'll explain it in a future chapter, I promise. For now, be content that Sasha is back, Ethan is starting to really become evil and stuff, and that when he eventually runs into the girls again [since it's bound to happen]... you better believe that drama's gonna make an appearance as well!
I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Feel free to leave a review with your thoughts and comments, and follow/favorite this story if you haven't already.
Have a great day/weekend all of you, and see you next time!

I do NOT own Ender's Game or Ender at all.
Also, I decided not to post my other Amphibia story, due to a lack of support for me doing so.
