Eli's jaw nearly hit the floor. He couldn't even begin to process what had happened. In the span of just a few days, he had lost his home, been taken in by a billionaire, and discovered Batman's secret identity. Dick walked up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Trust me, I know how you feel right now." Eli stepped back, taking in his new surroundings. He turned around, walking over to the cases that displayed the various uniforms used by Batman and his allies over the years. "You, you're Batman." "Very observant, aren't you?" Said Bruce, walking up to the shocked young man. "Be nice Bruce, he's had a long week." Dick approached, kneeling down to get on Eli's eye level. "Listen. I know this is a lot, I went through the same thing you're going through now. But I brought you here for a reason, come sit down and we can talk." The three of them walked over to the bat computer and took a seat. "Alright, let's start from the beginning." Said Dick. "The first thing I need is for you to promise me you won't tell anybody about this, alright? I need your word." "Alright, but why did you even bother telling me?" "Because I want to help you, and this is the best way to do it. I know you want to make things right after what happened to your brother, but killing Firefly isn't the way to go about it. When I got the chance to kill the man who took my parents, Bruce made me realize that it would make me just as bad as him. Instead of becoming a killer, I became the first Robin, and I wanted to give you the same opportunity." Eli was stunned. "Wait, why would you want me?" "I admit, at first I didn't. But when I saw that gun in your hand I knew being Robin was the best way to stop you from becoming a killer. It's the same reason most of the Robin's joined up." "He's right." Said Bruce. "Back when I was Batman, I recruited most of them to stop them from going down a dark path. That's why I wanted him to train you." Eli took some time to consider. Going out on his own would be far more dangerous than having Batman as a partner, and having the caped crusader's resources would make it much easier to track Firefly down. In the end, he knew it was the best way to get what he wanted. "Alright… I'll work with you." "Great!" Said Dick, standing up and walking over to a desk with a case, bringing it over to Eli. "Here. This suit was meant for the last guy, but it should fit you just fine."
